Need beer? This is the place to go from a single beer to a keg of beer. Employees have been there for years and very knowledgeable. If the beer you want is sold in SA they can order it for you.

Mireles is the cheapest place for kegs period. Not really great reviews here, but I’ve been going here for years, and don’t intend to stop. The staff are straight forward, and not overly friendly, but I don’t care. I take my keg in(I have a kegerator), exchange it, and leave. It’s never a hassle, it’s always the same price, and I’m in and out very quickly.

Terrible customer service. Do not waste time trying to deal with them over the phone or with specal orders. Walk in only for little cash and carry stuff. Not recommeded at all. Go to Spec’s(or any other place you can find) if you need special order or if you’re serious about getting quality beer.

So, Mireles Kegs gets stars for being the main source when googling for«kegs» in San Antonio. Also, they have all different types of kegs in stock negating the need to place special orders in advance. Bonus points for having Blue Moon kegs in stock. Mireles is straightforward with the pricing, showing online what each keg will cost by itself, or with tap, ice, cups, etc. Many places will tell you a lower price, but then neglect to tell you that it doesn’t include the tap and the ice. Instead of being set up like a liquor store, Mireles is set up more like a convenience store. This can be an issue if you call to try to find out information… imagine calling your local convenience store and what type of friendliness would be received. Yeah, exactly not too friendly. However, if you just show up they are nice and work to fill keg orders. Just make sure you arrive in the morning or with plenty of time before the party because on the weekends there can be up to 40 people waiting to purchase kegs. They also require a deposit of $ 100 per keg, so take cash if you don’t want a hold on your credit card. They do give three full days to bring the keg back, which is nice if it doesn’t float at the party. The best thing to do is research what you want online, only call if it’s a special order, and allow plenty of time for pick up.

I feel uncomfortable giving Mireles a review at all, because after a few unfriendly phone conversations where I tried to arrange a keg purchase and equipment rental, I got frustrated and took my business elsewhere. But that in itself may be indicative of what it’s like to work with this place. Then again, it could be limited to one joyful employee… I don’t know, because there are no other reviews on here. They do get props for being the top hit for any keg-related search in San Antonio, which is why I approached them in the first place. But the woman I kept getting on the phone was more«Whaddaya want from me?» and less«How can I help you?» I don’t buy a lot of kegs, so I was hoping to speak with an experienced person who could let me know what I need and what it costs. When I asked about delivery options she was like«Yeah, we charge.» Well – I figured! Then she acted like I was putting her out by even asking, with only 48 hours notice. Now, I completely understand the short notice thing. And if she’d let me know that they normally schedule delivery a week in advance, etc, but she’d try to see if there were any options for me, then fine. But she was very rude and unhelpful. I got a little weary of the unfriendly demeanor, so in the end, I found a keg from somewhere else.
