Mexican, seafood and vegetarian under one roof. I was surprised by how good the food was. We started with a mushroom appetizer(vegetarian). It was stuffed with soyrizo. The chips and salsa were good. The chips were drizzled with seasoning. We found out they were made out of soy. We couldn’t tell the difference The menu is interesting. You get to make your own plate. You pick your main dish and two sides. I had a vegetarian empanada(made in house), mini taco, flauta, lentils and white rice. The flauta came with fresh guacamole made to order. The plate also came with two tortillas. You have the option of homemade corn, flour or soy. My dining partner had the ground meat gorditas. He loved them. He said they weren’t too greasy. They make their own horchata. They use soy milk instead of cow’s milk. I couldn’t taste the difference in this either. I can’t wait to return and try more.

This place was great. Dining out with Vegans is always a challenge and this place will be another great option for us. They have a full vegetarian menu, as well as carnivore friendly options. Vegans beware. Make sure you ask lots of questions and make sure your stuff is going to be animal product free. My friend ordered Enchiladas she was told were vegan and they were served with queso fresco, so stay on top of that. I had the Chili Relleno with Soy Picadillo and Rockefeller Sauce. It was fantastic. The service was great our drinks stayed full. You should give this place a try, I’m happy I did.

Great vegan and vegetarian options. Ben the owner is very personal and tries to walk out and thank his customers when they are dining in. The food is fantastic and they make an amazing homemade Horchata. I wish I could go there more often.

It’s obvious that the owner has a lot of enthusiasm for veganism. It’s very apparent in a menu that was a bit chaotic. Luckily our waitress was extremely helpful and answered all our questions. We opted for the buffet. It’s not a typical one though. You check off what you want on a paper menu and they keep the food comin’ ! Our food was flavorful and abundant but the low price is what knocked my socks off. We will definitely return!

Frankly, I am ASTONISHED that I didn’t discover Mision de San Antonio sooner. A traditional Mexican restaurant with a full vegetarian menu? Welcome to my dream come true, Unilocalers. Let’s start with the basics. Obviously, I can’t stress enough how amazing it is to have a vegetarian Mexican restaurant without the excruciating substitutions of quinoa, kale, and squash in every dish. Let’s be honest here and say that these common subs make every plate taste like a thanksgiving garden. What I want from a Mexican restaurant is that spicy, authentic flavor, which Mision has on lock. Sure, there are a few vegetable centered plates but the soy options are what you have to rave about. Soy picadillo, chorizo, and pastor taco options, veggie flautas and enchiladas, chile rellenos and menudo just to get your mouth watering about a few. I ordered a mini tacos plate with soy chorizo and let me tell you, these little morsels were the perfect balance of flavor and spice. Served with chile torreados, cilantro, onion, and lime on two homemade corn tortillas, these tacos were perfection. The order of two cheese enchiladas were pretty dependable and the green salsa was outta this world — pour it on your life. More good news is, Mision has got you covered if you’re a regular carnivore. They have a half meat menu, and word on the street is its just as tasty. If that all isn’t enough to hook you, let me bring it home: Mision has got my three favorite D’s — drive thru, delivery, and dinner until 11PM. Plus a super friendly staff, minus an expensive tab. The one downside is negligible when you compare it to the delicious food. The drive thru, take out, and online menus all have different options, so it’s a little tricky to place an order. But once you do, just know that you’ll be satisfied no matter what the choice.

First visit here… lots of choices on menu for you to customize your plate with meat, vegan or vegetarian choices. mostly traditional Mexican dishes with options. choice of 2 sides comes with plates: beans — whole, refried, black, rice — White, Mexican, veggies, salad, potatoes or green beans. table salsa was very good with just the right«spice». but needs better chips to go with it. mom-in-law had puffy tacos, hubbie had chili relleno — choice of sauces and I had one of the specials — chicken flautas. All LOOKED(see photos) and tasted delicious! «Boiled» veggies as listed on menu, were grilled — maybe boiled first. but were prepared well. charro and black beans were good as well. side of guacamole was very tasty — with a few touches of tomatoes and onion for flavor. homemade corn and flour tortillas — couldn’t pass them up — adding BACK on the calories I saved by getting veggies! service was attentive. UPDATE: 2÷20÷16: puffy tacos excellent! light fluffy shell, moist and tasty shredded chicken topped with shredded green leaf lettuce, tomatoes and yellow cheese. Restaurant also offers interesting«soy» tortillas — a little dry, but VERY flavorful with a unique«creaminess». they also flavor their empanadas and pastries with different flavors — sweet & savory available.

My husband took me to eat at this restaurant a few weeks ago and I absolutely loved it! I had the vegetarian hungry man plate, it was delicious. The waitress is very helpful and patient. All of the soy products are made in-house. It’s one of the best restaurants in San Antonio.

Pretty excellent selection of tacos for meat eaters and vegetarian folks alike. Soyrizo in several different combinations and homemade corn and flour tortillas. The food came out nice and hot for my To go order and it made it all the way to San Marcos for our picnic in the park. The orders can get a little tricky to order at the drive through but they were very good about trying to get it all right and displayed excellent customer service skills with a smile. This place even had soy burgers & vegetarian milanesa! That’s pretty neat I tell you! Very cool indeed! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for tacos with some healthier options too. Very impressive. I plan on coming back for sure.

This place is amazing! The owner is very nice and prepares excellent food. The vegan food is delicious. Also ask for the coffee huarache. If you like cold coffee, you will not be disappointed.
