Mod Pad Modern Furniture

We have been to a lot of vintage mid century modern furniture stores
all over the country and this one is the best. Great selection and quality, the place is clean and well organized. Everything is priced well. We love it here.

After living in a home built in the 1920’s in Monte Vista in San Antonio, we moved two years ago to a modern house. Mod Pod has been our go-​to source for mid-​century modern furniture and decorative pieces. Michael, the owner, is very knowledgeable and helpful. He has provided free deliver of items that did not fit in our car and he has let us try things in the house before committing to buy. The store is a delight for browsing and we have picked up a number of items that we didn’t know we needed until we saw things that we could not resist. The care with which the items are selected and displayed are obvious and there is enough turnover that things change every couple of weeks. The chain stores have higher prices and a more predictable inventory. Mod Pod has higher esthetics and lower prices.

This place is beautiful and I visit every time I come to San Antonio. Michael is kind and knowledgeable. You can see the care he puts into his shop. I visited again today and am very very sad to hear that they won’t be carrying clothing there much longer. Their clothing collection was always small, but exceptionally well-​curated. The furniture is gorgeous and well-​chosen. You won’t regret visiting.

Besides having an excellent selection of Danish Modern pieces (Moller and Wegner), they have an excellent staff. I went here to just check out what they had, and ended up coming home with an octopus light (c. 1970) at a great price.

This is a great mid-​century shop. The selection is well curated and caters to mid century modern furniture and accessories. The prices seemed inline with what you would expect from this style of shop. Many pieces had example ebay auctions or other supporting evidence for the item and it’s value. While we did not purchase anything this time, it will be on my list of stops every time I’m in San Antonio.

I love this place! Officially my favorite spot to shop in San Antonio. As far as furniture goes for mid century modern there is so much great stuff. I got two really cute outfits. I thought the selections were well priced, well curated, and super special. I will def. be going back. Both the owners were there and they are super nice and helpful. A great find in Texas! I hope you can shop on their website as I plan to keep buying from LA!

If you are looking for mid-​century modern furniture and décor, this curated selection of merchandise is a find. For retro 1970’s and 1980’s looks, there are also a good amount of inventory.
Items turn over quickly and one of the staff, Michael, said that they have fresh looks about every two weeks. I found an interesting variety of wood, brass, and glass tables, as well as some unusual glass art. It is definitely a good place for browsing because you never know if they may have that one perfect piece that you didn’t know you needed. If you are going in with a firm mindset– I need a coffee table, you may be a little disappointed, but just come back after a few weeks.
Randomly, there are some vintage fashions on a rack in the back– many cute party dresses.
Prices were reasonable considering that they are sourcing these items from other places.

Very cool Mid Century Modern shop. Furniture, lamps, vintage clocks, etc. Everything there was in mint condition. Definitely worth a look.

here. Michael is awesome. He really makes you feel at home. I appreciated that. When we bought our couch, he offered to help bring into our home. How nice is that!!!
I am excited that they decided to dabble into vintage clothing (love!).

We have been looking for an antique store with some modern flare and found it here.
Every piece was awesome and unique! I wish I had extra rooms to fill it with some of the furniture and light fixtures here.
The manager or owner there was really cool. He was telling us how he refinishes a lot of the pieces and this cool record player he was working to get refinished. You could tell he really cared about the shop and how everything was presented. I love how he called all the pieces by their artist name. Respect!
There was an amazing selection of vintage women’s fashions. Pleather and plastic raincoats?! Yes please!
Another great item I loved that was overly stocked here was the amazing glass wares. They were just immaculate. Again, if I didn’t have my wares already, I would definitely buy some glasses from here.
Such a great store. I hope people find some treasures here. We had a great time walking through the awesome little shop today. The guy was telling us to visit often as the pieces change and new items come in all the time.
Be sure to walk up the spiral staircase. There’s good stuff up there too!

Best midcentury furniture ever. Price is amazing! I shop all over Internet for midcentury item (1^st dib, d&v, eBay … Name it, I shopped all) modmodern has a best quality and price. And talked owner Michael, he is so friendly and nice.
