Why do we keep coming back. Have bought 2 hand guns at Nagel’s, that’s the only time they are friendly. Was looking for a ankle holster on my previous visit. Found one specially made for my S&W Airweight w/internal hammer, at least that is what the container said. I ask a staff member if that would work with my gun. He took the holster, then came back in a moment without it and said no it won’t. That bothered me because the container said made for Airweight by was silent to the internal or external hammer issue. I ask if I could please see the holster again. Boy was I being an inconvenience, as luck would have it I have my Airweight with me. I ask the clerk if I could try my pistol in the holster. He said OK so I unloaded and tried it. A perfect fit(Made by Galco $ 104 retail great holster). I bought it by had to get past an employee who didn’t want to make a sale. Then recently came in with the Mrs. just to brose. Found a pair of Baretta pants at a good discount and decided to buy they. First the clerk wanted to charge the pre-discounted price, which was clearly marked in red. Finally another employee told him that the discounted price, clearly marked on a red tag was the correct price. Now that he’s good and mad at me, paying with my credit card was no fun at all. Just pure rude. Wife and I walked out and said to each other, we need to find a new gun store!!!

Walked in today to a store that wasn’t very busy. Ready to buy an expensive 1911. Stood at the counter for over 30 minutes(the high-end counter with the expensive pistols) and not a single sales person came to the counter. By the time I left, there were several others at the counter and still no sales support. I left and ordered online from a reputable dealer elsewhere. I wouldn’t waste my time here. The last time I was in, a female customer service person was yelling at another employee for over 10 minutes. I think I’ve made my last trip to this wonderful place.

Great prices, but service was horrible. Just because you might not need more business doesn’t mean you should act like it. Customer service associates were not approachable and did not acknowledge me or my wife. When I finally did find an associate to ask a question about ordering a Sig to, he tells me he doesn’t know and told me to ask another associate!

I purchased a firearm from this gun shop a little less than a year ago. The weapon had a malfunction and I was told that it needed to be sent back to the manufacturer. That was at the end of November. I was informed at the time that I might not get it back before Christmas. I was Okay with that. I checked on the status and was told that it was sent to the manufacturer. I called(1st call) to the manufacturers repair/CS line that I obtained on their web site. They requested the seiral number of the gun. They informed me that they did not have my gun. I returned to the shop within 15 minutes of my first visit and told them that the gun was not at the repair facility. The gun shop informed me that they tried to contact the manufacturer at least three times since I droped off my gun to obtain a Return Authorization(RA), but had not received a call back. I then called the manufacturer(2nd time) myself and talked to a CS rep and turned my phone over to the store person that handles returns so they could obtain the RA. I found it strange that a gun store was unable to get the info to send the gun back, but the 2nd time called I was able to talk to manufacturer CS rep that was able to give them the required RA. I wanted to buy my gun at a local gun shop because of the costumer service. I am disappointed with this experience. The manager informed that the gun would be shipped today. I requested a copy of all shipping information for my gun. He requested my email address and I gave it to him. I told the manager that Nagle’s would have to earn my business back. I told him that I felt that someone was«blowing smoke my ass» on the status of my gun and requested he talk to he staff about informing the customers of the true status of future transactions like mine. I am looking fowrard to a smoother process in regards to this return. I called the gun manufacturer yesterday. I was suprised that having the gun less than a week(weekend inclued) my gun was repaired and being shipped.

It’s been a few years since I’ve been to NAGEL’S but I went there in response to an S&W AR-15 for sale. After reading some of the negative reports on the internet, I was half expecting some BS shell game and a story about how they had just sold the last one and don’t know when they will get more in. To my surprise, they had what I went there for and the price was as advertised — $ 180.00 less than the two stores I checked on the way there. The service was very good and while waiting, I overheard some other sales people giving what I thought was some very good and accurate information to other customers. I also bought some ammunition and after checking the price at a couple of other places later on, I should have bought more when I was there. Some of the prices I saw for other types of ammunition were higher than I typically pay but the American Eagle 5.56 was a bargain at $ 7.99/box of 20. I’ll be back. Great selection and knowledgeable staff.

I came here last Friday to buy a Canik tp9sa and had a great experience. Hal was helpful and I got asked about 8 times if I was being taken care of and felt great about buying my first gun here! I’ll be back for future firearm purchases! Edit: auto correct changed Canik to Canuck, so I fixed that.

Returned to Nagels today for my second purchase. Their selection is hard to beat and prices are competitive(unless compared to online prices). Ask for Fast Eddie, he’s very friendly and knows what he’s talking about. If you are wanting an FFL transfer, I would look elsewhere. They will only transfer if it is an item they don’t carry and the fee is high.

Will not return. After asking questions the employees gathered in an open space and talked/laughed about me. Despite that I dropped off a shotgun for modifications that were not complete. If you want a gun go anywhere else. If you want attitude and to be talked down to, this is your place!

I had previously shopped at Nagel’s because they have the best selection in town, but I did not have a good experience previously due to the grudging, and almost non-existent, customer service. However, my experience yesterday with«Fast» Eddie changed my opinion of the place. Eddie was helpful, polite, gave his opinion when I asked for it, and didn’t give me any of the misogynist nonsense women sometimes get in gun stores. I retracted my previous review of the store, and am glad to post this new one. Thanks Eddie!

Read several reviews about Nagel’s but decided to try it anyway. Will never go there again. I understand being busy but I don’t understand being rude. They have no real system for waiting on customers. Was in there for about 1 hour when I asked to be waiting on and was told«You have to wait your turn.» When I asked when my turn started, he got really huffy. Told me, «If you don’t like the way we do things you can leave.» So I did.

I never thought I would rate and review Nagel’s so highly, but this review is deserved. Nagel’s is not my regular gun store. I usually shop at the Powderhorn. Since Nagel’s was the only shop open on Monday and I had some free time, I decided to stop by. I have shopped at Nagel several times before this visit and have left with similar blah experiences that others have reported. My last visit started off as usual; with me trying to check out a couple of pistols in their dimly lit display cases in their overly packed store. A Sig P320C caught my attention and I wanted to get my hands on it to further check it out. Specifically, I wanted to feel the trigger. The price on this pistol actually appeared to be competitive. Most everything else in the store seems overpriced though. After waiting for about 5 minutes for one of the clerks to finish waiting on another customer, I was helped. «Fast» Eddie was courteous and helpful. I decided I wanted the pistol, but the one I was shown was in .357 Sig and I wanted a 9 mm. Eddie excused himself and disappeared for about 10 minutes to look for the 9 mm P320C. During my 10 minute wait, I was asked by a couple of other clerks if I had been helped. This seemed abnormal for Nagel’s. «Fast» Eddie returned with a case and said they didn’t have the exact model, but had an upgraded model. He didn’t know the price and started to look it up. I thought to myself, that this was going to overpriced like most other guns at Nagel’s. I had been checking prices from Bud’s Guns on the internet while I was waiting for Eddie so I had a price range in mind. I was stunned when Eddie quoted me the price of the Sig P320C in a FDE finish. It was $ 1 more than Bud’s! If you are not familiar with Bud’s, their website typically has very competitive prices on firearm. Yes, this Sig came home with me. Throughout this transaction, Eddie was courteous and helpful. He said his name several times and reminded me that if I had any issues to come back and see him. WOW, I had a pleasant experience at Nagel’s. I really hope this this type of service from Nagel’s becomes the norm rather than the exception. Nagel’s has character and with great service like I got today and competitive prices, this store could be the premier gun store in San Antonio. Nagel’s, please keep up the improvement. If there was a choice for ¼ of a star they would hardly get that. Awful customer service I called asking to see if they had a certain firearm in stock. The ass who answered the phone had never heard of canik, and got mad at me for his ignorance. Talking to me as of I were the stupid one. Well let me just tell you this if you want to be in an atmosphere, where all the employees think they are gods gift to the firearm world. The entire staff here was extremely helpful and made my purchasing experience very simple. They’re all helpful and we had some good laughs about indestructible Glock stories. As a first time buyer, I felt as if I had known these guys forever. They have an extensive amount of Gen 3 and Gen 4 Glocks. I’d definitely recommend this place for your purchasing of any arms. They won my business now and in the future.

This review pertains to their knife shop only. As you walk in you will notice the selection is above average. However judging by the dust on, well everything, you could postulate there is a reason for that. Take the Spyderco Tenacious for example. There cost was $ 59.99 + tax. Not bad right? $ 10 under MSRP. Except it’s regularly available in multiple finishes and blade styles for $ 40 online. While I understand they have overhead to deal with, but come on!

Stopped in today for a Hail Mary repair on a new shotgun purchase. They fixed the gun, had me on my way(it wasn’t a huge issue) with a handshake. I will be back to use this store again since its closer to my place of business than where I normally go. Awesome staff. Wish I had the time to look around.
