This place is horrible! Even with my 100% VA disability, a(I suppose) major sheet of paper had not been sent along from TriWest and we were told it might be tomorrow before they got it. That would have meant driving the 170 round trip for nothing or paying for a hotel room just to get an ultra sound on my carotid arteries. They are all programmed to say, «We’re sorry» but their demeanor and expressions was anything but. The top three incompetents(so far) are(1) the VA(2) TriWest &(3) Nix Health Care. I will NEVER go anywhere that TriWest is a part of ever again or to any NIX facility. Unfortunately, I still get my health care from the VA. That in itself«health care & the VA» is an oxymoron.

My dad just left this place and we were not impressed at all. He was transferred here from a smaller hospital because he was having a hard time breathing and the small town hospital thought it could possibly be a pulmonary embolism. He went straight into the ICU for monitoring. He stayed there for two full days and they barely did anything in there. 1) They did one CT scan and gave him two bags of fluid and drew blood maybe three times. The second morning of the stay, two different financial ladies came in to hound him about payment because he doesn’t have insurance. They were so pushy and rude I could not believe how insensitive they could be. They told him that after less than 12 hours of being there that he already owed $ 9,000 and wanted to know if he would be able to put a $ 3,000 down payment up upon discharge. As soon as they figured out that workman’s comp was going to cover the stay they started sending in surgeons to consult. 2) The hospital staff did only the minimum they possibly could so they could get him out of there. The doctors were rude and insensitive, not to mention every time we asked them a question they would not give us a direct answer, they all skated around the question and asked us the same questions over and over again because no one was communicating with anyone else. One of the surgeons, I don’t know his name, came in and said it was a tumor on his adrenal gland and then answered his phone and walked out without giving any other information. We finally had to ask two different doctors and the nurses before we got a straight answer out of them. They told him they were going to discharge him but he would need to seek a specialist immediately to get the tumor removed. They gave us no referrals. They didn’t want to do the removal surgery because he had no insurance. Later that day I was leaving the ICU to get food and I heard the first rude surgeon say«Man, this guy is totally f**ked up.» I don’t know if he was talking about my dad or not but it is still extremely rude. Overall, I would not recommend this hospital because of their shady business practices and insensitive staff. Also, the hospital appears to be a bit older and not as clean as a hospital should be. When we were finally moved into a regular room, there were splatter marks of some kind of unidentified substance all over the wall. gross. If at all possible please stay away from this hospital.
