First timer at this barber. Walked in to a busy but very cool place. I was offered a drink while I waited… ice cold beer. Had two while I waited. Saw shoe shine guy working magic on a pair of shoes so I got mine done while waiting. My haircut was the best I have ever had. Not rushed, did what I asked and he took his time. Shoe shine was just as good. I suggest you make an appointment if you do not like to wait. My wait was about an hour but I was not in a hurry and enjoyed the beers. I highly recommend.

My overall experience was good, the atmosphere was great, and the staff was friendly however my hair cut is horrible.
The staff spent more time talking to each other and customers rather than cutting hair, they had conversations on what movie they wanted to watch, ex employees and what they were going to do that night.
Good atmosphere, bad haircut. Will not be back.

If you want a great adult (not just a kiddie fade) men’s haircut at a great price this is the place. There’s a reason that you see businessmen and military personnel here alike.
I currently wear my hair shorter on the sides and longer and swept back on top as I’m growing the top out. Since I’m in the process of growing it out they’ve helped me keep it clean and professional during the process and the awkward lengths.
I’ve been here twice and both times I walked out with a great cut. A consistent quality men’s cut is hard to find. This place is a keeper.
PS Razor shave on your neck and around your ears.
$ 15 + $ 5 tip = $ 20 and a great cut.

5 stars for the haircut, it’s a good cut, stylist took her time, and it turned out great.
1 star for the price. I didn’t see the price list until after the cut (I guess I should have looked before) but would have never guessed the price was $ 28! That’s right $ 28 for a basic haircut. Damn, I wish I would have seen the price.

I have been living in San Antonio for about six months now and this was by far the best haircut I have had thus far. I am a former hairstylist and really know what I want and Priscilla really knocked it out!

For Stone Oak location. I am not entirely sure why this place gets good reviews. It is always slow but his morning took the cake. The hours of say 9 – 5 during the week. I arrived to get my son’s haircut at 9. The shoeshine guy was there and said the barbers would show up in about 30 mins. At 950 we had to leave and still no barbers. I guess this place is great if you want a shoeshine, want to watch TV, or want to play pool. Just don’t expect to find a barber there.

DO NOT GET THE STRAIGHT RAZOR FACIAL SHAVE!!! Very few places nowadays offer facial shaves with a straight razor, therefore I expected this place to have experienced barbers who knew what they were doing. Needless to say the barber cut my face up pretty good, enough to leave a few scars! Not to mention he sheared the guys hair up before me. Do not offer a service if you do not have experienced personnel to do such a fragile service.

Great place. I am not sure what is not to like, other than the price is a bit on the high side.
Anyway, this place is a barber shop, not a salon, which if you like straight lines, straight razors, and a focus on men’s cuts, then it’s a great fit for you. I highly recommend Priscilla, if she is in. She spent a lot of time perfecting my haircut and didn’t hesitate at all when I asked her to make the sides a little shorter.
As an added plus, the place is comfortable, there are TVs and a pool table, and clear good camaraderie amongst the staff and management.
Again, it is a little pricey, so come prepared and don’t get sticker shock. That said, I feel like it is still good value you for your money, and I’ll be going back.

Gone here twice now, two different barbers and two great hair cuts with straight shave at the end. They do great fades, which I’ve had trouble with in the past, since I don’t want a high and tight. Definitely recommend this shop.

Walked in without an appointment and Angie went to work on my 3 month over grown dome. She did a great job and the straight razor is fantastic.
While you wait they have 2 big screen TVs to watch, a pool table and offered sodas & beer. Sadly I was on duty and couldn’t have a beer.
Overall great place to get a quality cut. I’ll definitely be going back

This place wins, hands down. We were a groom’s party of 5 looking for an authentic shave before the wedding. I called around the day before to make reservation but of the full-​service barbershops in the northern San Antonio area, only North Star would take our reservation for the next day. Some even said they don’t shave until after 3PM (?).
We arrived at out designated time and they are ready an prepped for us as soon as we walk in the door. They even have a pool table for those who are waiting for their next turn. The shaves themselves were amazing. Warm towels and straight razors. How it’s meant to be done.
At the end of our shaves we went out into the world looking great and every shave I’ve given myself since has been kind of a let-​down.
