I’m in town for a short time. I called and asked if they had a high end bottle of gin? They said yes. Walking into this establishment, I glanced around and knew this place was no joke. They have all kinds of high end alcohol. The gentleman who helped me was great, very friendly. Next time I come through town I will return.

Fantastic selection. The old guys working here are very knowledgeable and can answer any question you have. They may even throw in an entertaining story as well. The prices are about moderate, some being higher and some being lower. Lets be frank, if your buying cheap mass produced liquor just go up the road to twin liquors. If you want something out of the ordinary and local, this is your place.

Okay, anyone who knows me knows that I’m all about buying local. But this place, damn, here you gotta be prepared to pay a steep premium for the privilege. Sorry old guys(the men working here are always older), you might have a nice scotch selection, but the prices here are gonna keep me away.

Odd this category says«interior design». Hm. Maybe that is because some of the bigger chain stores can perhaps take a lesson or two from this store. It is a small, compact store that is full of wonderful treasures, especially its owner. Don’t be deceived by its exterior. They have some truly wonderful items. If they don’t have specifically what you are looking for, they will try to get it. I agree with the previous review that says this is a gem of a store with supreme customer service. I was so enthralled with the two gentlemen working that night. They were both so eager to discuss their selection, as well as help me find the perfect selection for my price range. All of this, whole allowing me to enjoy perusing the racks. They are so knowledgeable and friendly. Glad to see that SA has this kind of wonderful store!

This place is expensive! So I was in there recently, and was browsing the bottles. The gentleman at the counter received a phone call from a customer seeking a certain brand of whiskey. The gentleman tells the customer that they have the liquor in question, and to come on down. It seems apparent the customer told the man that he was coming immediately, as the man replied, «See you soon» after he hung up. Then I watch as the guy behind the counter grabs a price gun, runs over to the liquor that the customer had just called about, and change the prices on it. Seems a little unfair towards the customer. They do have a nice selection, and are always willing to help with your questions. They sell ice in brown bags, straight from their freezer.

From the outside this spot barely even looks open. But if you live in Alamo Heights and are looking for a locally owned liquor store, this is your spot! The bottles may be dusty but the service is great and helpful. The selection is to the point but what they have is good and the prices are exceptional. So next time you’re in the area and thinking about hitting the bottle, give this divey little liquor store a chance and support local!

If you like dusty old bottles of scotch, this is the place for you. Packed into a small living room of an old house, this liquor store has charm for sure. The older staff is very knowledgeable and attentive, they even scrape of the price stickers before putting the bottle in a bag for you. As for that scotch? All the way back on the right, they have one of the best collections i’ve seen.
