No complaints here. Fast and friendly service. Super reasonably priced for lunch. Food was yummy!

Don’t judge this place from the outside, or from the inside. The food is amazing. It’s where the locals eat so it’s not priced for tourists and if the food wasn’t great it wouldn’t be able to stay in business. Sure, go to the touristy places as well, but for the most authentic Mexican food you don’t need to look any further.

The food was delicious! The prices were very reasonable myself my husband and our 4 children went in for breakfast and spent under 35 $$$ omg which is unheard of for 6 people! The breakfast was so good the server was very attentive and we truly enjoyed ourselves!

My buddy told me about this place. From the outside it looked skeptical, but the food was delicious. The tea was good this price was low. I don’t know who’s cooking in that kitchen but whoever it is, is doing a great job. The service fantastic too. I will return.

Great local restaurant with amazing food. We stayed at the Hotel Contessa and it was a short 5 – 10 walk to get to the Oasis. Divey looking, but wonderful, cheap good. Definitely recommend if you like to get off the beaten path & away from the tourist spots.

Just ok, maybe 2.5 stars. I was soo hungry and the food was just ok. Enchiladas had what looked like cheddar cheese in them and meat quality of steak was like taco bells.

This Place Was Quiet And Simple. The Staff Was Plentiful, Yet Did Not Wait On Tables As They Should. Went There For Breakfast And The Food Was Alright, Had The Pancakes But They Weren’t To Great. Still An Okay Hole In The Wall Restaurant.

Hidden Gem! Definitely a diamond in the rough… yes rough! Okay, this is NOT a fancy tourist TexMex /Mexican restaurant, instead it is a local dive in which you will find hard working locals getting traditional local cuisine for just a few dollars. While the Oasis doesn’t look like much, both from the outside and inside, the food and service are both first rate! Today I had the Oasis’s daily special,(TexMex /Mexican equivalent to the traditional American Diner’s blue plate special), 3 chicken enchiladas with molè sauce, refried beans, rice, and lettuce tomatoe salad, served with your choice of wheat or corn tortillas(I chose corn). The corn tortillas are house made freshly pressed and come out piping hot. The Molè sauce was spot on, I mean I was wiping the molè with the tortillas while thinking do I have enough tortillas or should I just lick the plate. Okay, the 2nd best part(1st was the Molè) was the cost, which was $ 6.50, which included ice tea. Finally the service was awesome, the 3 waitresses were quick, polite, accurate, efficient… something a lot of the high priced Riverwalk restaurants don’t have. Hidden Gem!!! Awesome food, service, and cost… no brainer… 5 stars!!!

Had the ladies special– the puffy taco and chalupa(aka: tostada) –I like the chicken puffy taco more than the beef. Nachos were not good. But service was pleasant and food was good at a low price. Good deal!

An awesome whole in the wall! Real Mexican food — so don’t expect chips and salsa when you sit down. That’s how you know you’re not eating at El Chico’s. This was a refreshing break from dining with tourists on the river. Strong, hot coffee. Yummy, cheap breakfast platters. Mouth-watering, savory breakfast tacos! Just go already. My husband and I ordered coffee, five breakfast tacos, and the Huevos Rancheros plate for $ 14.62!!! I hate to admit it, but we couldn’t finish it all. Go hungry!

Had huevos with chorizo and freshly made, hot off the grill flour tortillas and their fresh salsa. Service was quick and efficient. Nice little spot off the tourist path, but worth finding. I will be back!

Holy moly! This place is amazing! Looks can be deceiving, trust me, just walk in the door. My soccer team of 15 people came here on a Saturday afternoon and were seated and waited on immediately. Food followed very quick and kind service! Most authentic Mexican food I’ve had in awhile, and incredible fresh — not heavy or fatty. The prices are low as well! Too bad try aren’t open on Sunday because we would come back tomorrow in a heart beat!

I have been getting breakfast here for years. Great food, very nice staff and family owned. Call ahead and order out if it’s nice because The Little Patch Garden,(a public green space) is just next door and has a cool Dr Suesse muriel that spans almost an entire block. Highly recommended. Closes at 3pm

Thank God for this place. I work nearby, and having lived most of my life in San Antonio I can honestly say I can’t remember ever having better breakfast tacos. The tortillas, the only way I can describe them is to say they«melt in your mouth.» they are the right thickness, always fresh, and just generally delicious. I have never been here other than breakfast but looking forward to trying their lunch. They are friendly and courteous, good service overall. When I get breakfast here, I wish I had a bigger stomach.

Don’t let the outside of this restaurant deter you from going in. This is a great family run restaurant with delicious food at cheap prices. We stumbled upon this place for breakfast when we were looking for an alternative to the tourist traps around Riverwalk and to the hotel buffet breakfast. We ordered a breakfast taco and a breakfast platter. Total was less than $ 6. Food was so good that we came back for lunch. We ordered the beef and the chicken fajitas. Includes chips and salsa. Be warned, the salsa is the real deal and very spicy. Total was less than $ 15. Our only regret was not ordering meals to go.

Really cheap and good texmex food in San Antonio! The prices just can’t be beat, a plate full of eggs, meat, and potatoes was around $ 4. Not gourmet or a place to take a date, but a nice casual eatery with friendly staff.
