Rafaela’s Cakes

Did you say salted caramel macaroons? You did? OMG I WANT SOME! That right there was my immediate thought process once I heard that Rafaela’s Cakes had perfected her traditional macaroon recipe. Crispy coconut, deliciously sweet and salty caramel. Just the right amount of chewy goodness. I can go on and on.
I have yet to try to chocolate dipped and original and I’m sure they are just as tasty. For $ 18 a dozen these puppies are worth every penny. I woke up the next morning to find my sweet-​toothed honey had eaten 7 of them… BY. HIM. SELF! At least he saved me 2!
For Thanksgiving, they offer your traditional pies, Lemon Merengue, and all that loveliness. I longingly stared at the pictures because I swear I could smell them through the screen. They looked that good!
Kudos to the owner, Rafaela, for even considering trying her hand at gluten-​free baking. I mentioned my allergy and she said she’d give it a go. Luckily those macaroons are naturally GF. ;)
I’ll post an update once I get my hands on some GF baked goodness. Don’t know if she delivers but you can pick up your order in Alamo Heights.
