The portions were huge and not overly priced, but unless you want/like/love salt, your food will be contaminated with it. Walking in the front door, the first thing I noticed was an overwhelming smell of bleach. In spite of that, the doors were heavily smudged, the floor was«sticky» and obviously overdue for a mopping and the counters most definitely needed cleaning and several tables had not been cleared or cleaned. There are so many pizza parlors to choose from, and it can’t be too difficult to find one other than this crummy establishment…

Pizza was questionable. The inside was a little messy and I wasn’t quite sure on my ranch. It was more like a jello. Suspicious. My pizza was really burnt and it tasted a little salty which I thought was odd. It took a while for my one cheese slice pizza and my friends pepperoni slice. After reading some reviews here(after my visit– I try not to judge a restaurant until I visit myself) I realized it wasn’t an uncommon experience, bummer. It’s next to one of my favorite fruit stands. The thing that grossed me out was there was a long piece of curly brunette hair on my friends pizza. We just left and ate at good old’ Blanco BBQ. The service wasn’t awful — it was just your average counter service. Also, we came around dinner time and it was fairly empty. I thought it was overpriced for a extra burnt slice of pizza. Sorry if this review is a little too honest. I would’ve taken a picture but my phone had died. I’m still craving a NY style pizza if anyone has some recommendations:)

I have only come only during work lunch since its close by my company. They always have great specials that was cheap and filling and yummy. Lunch specials run about $ 6 – 8. You come in, stand in line, order/pay, get your drink and wait for them to call your number. They have forgotten my order before, and in this visit and coworker didn’t get her order after a good 15 minutes and had to ask for it. I ordered the pasta special with side salad. First, the ice tea drinks were a bit watered down. I was a bit sad about that. The pasta itself was a tomato cream sauce that was pretty smooth and flavorful. A nice blend of tomatoes and cream that wasn’t too overpowering and perfectly blended like a tomato basil soup from a certain well known restaurant in town. It was so much food I had to take half of it to go. I’ve eaten the pizza before and it’s pretty good if you like thin crust, oily, soft pizza. Don’t expect the healthy California style or thick Chicago style or you will be sorely disappointed.

Really great thin crust pizza and one of the few places you can get a cannoli. Also they serve ziegenbock! :))) The atmosphere is very«hole in the wall».

Pizza was just okay. Felt like it was lacking in flavor but it’s good if you are looking for a break from chain pizza. Probably won’t come back. The soda machine made soda all flat and watered down.

In a small strip center on Blanco road is Ray’s Pizzeria. It’s in the former Goomba’s Pizza space and I’ve been here enough times to give a long overdue review. I just had an early lunch here today with my wife. We were in that weird time of day when it could be breakfast but is late enough for lunch. We waited in the parking lot until their opening time at 11am. The doors opened and we were their first customers of the day. No confetti and streamers from the ceiling for being the first ones but I won’t hold that against them. We each decided on different $ 5.95 daily specials which include a drink with complimentary refills. My wife ordered pizza, salad and drink while I ordered the 2 slice pepperoni and drink. I don’t know why I keep forgetting how large the slices really are here. I only managed to eat one slice and requested a personal size pizza box which barely fit the remaining gigantor size slice I was now too stuffed to eat. Good thin sliced pizza! Love the crust and the full flavor of the pizza. TV’s are on showing sporting events. Wonderful Italian songs play softly over the speakers. You are still easily able to carry on a conversation at your booth or table. The walls of this place feature photos of famous italians and the place is clean and inviting. Oh, they also now have a party room with video games. There is also an area which features a bar. I don’t mean ballerina barre either. Beer and wine may be purchased but I’m more of a soda and teetotaler. By the time we were ready to leave there were kiddos with their parents and couples looking to satiate their hunger pangs. No need to put on your tuxedo, cumberbund and top hat. It’s a casual attire neighborhood restaurant with good food and a wonderful décor. A good bang for the buck place!!!

Very tasty pizzas here! Although they changed ownership awhile back they still have the same menu and still is tasty. This place is a great value of the size of pizza you can get. If coming with a large group get the giant(20″) for only $ 11.95! My favorites are the specialty pizzas, this is probably the most expensive thing on the menu(depending on size anywhere from $ 12.95 for medium to $ 21.95 for a giant) but you won’t be disappointed. Try the Greek, chicken pesto, or the spinach and ricotta to keep you coming back for more! Their décor is a bit depressing of the store. Dark, not the cleanest and doesn’t make you want to stay for to long, but the pizza is sure worth it. You can always get take out too to avoid dining in.

Took my date there for dinner. The air conditioning felt broken it was hot the entire time. Bad smell from the bathroom down the hallway. And they were filthy. Had to wait 30 minutes for four slices of burnt soggy pizza They forgot the topping on my date’s slices. When we sent it back we got them back in two minutes and the guy claimed they were brand new slices. Really? The place was dirty. Blinds next to the table had a thick layer of dust. Will not be going back.

THEBLANCOLOCATIONHASUNFORTUNATELYGONEWAYDOWNHILL. The place is dirty, and the food is now sub par at best. We used to love getting takeout from Ray’s for the last 3 years. We had a bad experience with a pizza last year and the customer service was horrible when I called to express concern over the burned pizza I received. We decided to give it another try a few days ago and it will be our last time. The 12″ meatball parm only had 4 small meatballs on it — that’s only 2 small meatballs per 6″ sandwich. The Giant pepperoni pizza had virtually no sauce on it, only one pepperoni per slice of pizza and it was undercooked. I wrote this same review on their Facebook review page and they reported it as inappropriate to Facebook.

This used to be my favorite pizza place, but after the last 2 experiences I doubt I’ll be back. We stayed away for awhile after getting a burnt & soggy sad excuse of a pizza last year, only to return a few days ago to more undercooked(but not burnt this time) pizza & a 12″ meatball parm that only had 4 meatballs on it. This place used to be awesome, not anymore.

Heard great things about Ray’s, so it’s time to check it out! Great location and close to my place so I like that! Upon walking in I was smacked in the face with the odor of «bathroom». Even though I was really expecting a pleasant pizza aroma. The place could really use a deep clean and an update, but the customer service was great and the food was really good too! For like $ 5 or $ 6 I got a salad, giant slice and a drink. The price was awesome for the amount of food! Very impressive. I will definitely be back.

The pizza is great it will satisfy the craving when you get it. We decided to get a pie here after we found out our go to place was closed on Sunday’s. Question: We had the 16 inch pepperoni, pineapple and jalapeños, A) because we are pregnant B) because we are high C) because it’s DAMM good and we are pregnant!

They serve pizza by the slice NY style which I love, they are typically way bigger slices than when you order a entire pie. Ingredients are fresh, they use real Italian sausage. Are very accommodating when you say light sauce. It’s a order at the front kinda of place, but the staff is extremely attentive, they do get busy, and I’ve never really seen no more than 3 people on staff in the front so they can get overwhelmed sometimes. They never lack in quality though. I frequent the bar(Mcfinnigans) next door during football season and they will take your order to you if you tell them you are gonna be over there.(Tip accordingly**) Mcfinnigans is cool about it too, nice match up. Kudos to both for the convenience.

Rays pizzeria is one of our favorite places to eat but this one doesn’t quite hold up to the one on Fredricksburg Road. This place is really dirty and the bathrooms are GROSS. Please spend a little time cleaning the place up. The pizza was really good but it’s hard to give it a higher rating cause it’s just so dirty.

AUTHENTICNYCSTYLEPIZZA(Slices available) Service was amazing! Very friendly lady that took my order. The only issue we had was that she didn’t like anchovies but that’s a personal problem. Lol. She took my to-go order and told me it would be 10 minutes so I went to the car. I must have lost track of time or the pizza was just ready fast, before I knew it the nice lady was walking my to-go box out of the door to me. How is that for Customer SERVICE? The FOOD: I instantly get critical when I see a pizzeria outside of NY boasting«New York Style Pizza». being from NYC myself I feel it is my duty to verify those claims. I was not let down the pizza was greasy and delicious. I always say you can tell if a pizzeria is good if they offer anchovies and this place does. You don’t have to eat them but the next time you want to judge a pizzeria before you spend the money, ask if they have anchovies. If they do then your pizza most likely will be delicious. The shop is big and seemed clean. I was shocked at how big the slice was that they serve. It was huge. Also without me having to ask they packed 1 to-go container of pepper and 1 of cheese. I WILLBERETURNINGSOON!

The best value pizza in San Antonio! I wrote a review for the Kitty Hawk location saying that they were the«same» but this visit slapped me in the face, the pizza is so much better here! I love coming here for lunch, you have the option of getting a side salad, a huge slice of pizza(one topping), and a drink for $ 5.95 or you can get two full slices and a drink for the same price. The pizza slice is as big as an average man’s head! Con: Once I ordered the fried calamari and was disappointed by the 5 – 6 soggy rings that were in the basket.
