Friday evening doing the standard«where the heck should we go eat» thing. and thought«wait a minute! Unilocal it!». Saw standard things popup and then noticed this place that serves Columbian food AND a veteran Unilocaler with several checkins! So off we went to Sabor De Sanchez which like a lot of good ethnic dives is right next to a gas station. I warn you, it is not great to look at from outside and not that fabuloso looking inside, but man the food is terrific! From the perfectly crispy shelled empanadas with deliciously savory fillings to the rib stickingly satisfying, flavorful sancocho which the owner boasts would raise the dead(and this is no idle boast, because one indeed feels rising comfort in your soul after that delightful meaty broth makes its way into your body) to the perfectly fried plantains that are cooked just past brown thus adding complexity to the caramelized exterior to the pillowy arepas(which are a bit doughier than I like, but still quite tasty) which are the perfect homage to corn and hand held foods in general, its all good, Besides the sancocho which has the trifecta of meatiness with beef, pork and chicken slowly cooked till the collagen has made everything meltingly tender and thickened the broth, the other favorite was the pastor arepa. This vaguely reminds one of tacos al pastor, except the seasoning is quite different with a more middle eastern flavor with a nice hit of allspice and mint, thus paying homage to the early Lebanese immigrants who introduced this style of cooking to Central America. The other great thing is this is a BYOB place! So one can take a multitudes of beers to pair with the different foods for a very satisfying evening… or lunch or whatever you decide speaks to you.

Great little Colombian eatery. Authentic owners and food. Had arepas, empanadas and a Bandeja Paisa to try a little bit of everything Off the beaten path but worth the trip. Small locale… They should expand. Good made to order. Authentic. If you are either Colombian or like the good a must try

Food is tasty and has homemade flavors that make me want to come back. The menu offers a good selection of Mexican and Colombian dishes. Great first experience of Colombian food.

This is a nice little place to come try something good new! I had the chorizo with the aji sauce, it was very delicious. I also had a side of the plantains, so sweet and soft! Finally, had a chicken empanada, that was good, but a bit dry(nothing the aji sauce couldn’t improve). Make sure you try the Colombiana soda, it’s tasty! The mister attending the clients was very kind and welcoming! I’ll be back for more! I didn’t give the 5 stars bc the place could use more space and a better ambience inside.

Decided to check out this Colombian place for Breakfast, I ordered the empanadas and my wife ordered Arepas & Mora Juice. The Empanadas were Delicious & the Arepas were Great! The Mora Juice was 110% Tasteful! After searching for a Authentic Colombian Restaurant We found one! I will review once I come back for Dinner!

I’ve been a few times and everything has been delicious and the portions are large. I especially liked the beef arepas as they were made with beef tips. The arepas con queso are good sized and very filling.

It had been awhile since my last visit here and as we were trying to figure dinner out last night, we drove by… and then quickly turned around. I had the Bandeja Paisa again and my babygirl had the asada plate(complete with rice, plantain, & avocado). Daniel was working the counter and again, he thought I was from Columbia. :) Nothing had changed as far as flavor and freshness — everything was excellent! Although the place had been reconfigured so the counter isn’t on your left anymore but in front of you when you walk in. There were also a couple of extra tables(at least that’s what it felt like in comparison to before). Still a little pricey when ordering from the Columbian menu(they serve Mexican food too); however, very much worth it!

As we waited almost an hour for our delicious food, Sabor De Sanchez will not be receiving elite marks. But the Arepas were tasty; tried the Bandeja Paisa, with the Chicharron(Pork Belly) being the highlight. Also had the Sobrebarriga, which was less notable. Great Colombian food, as long as you have time.

I love the platano, arepas, and empanadas. However this last time the service was pretty bad. I called my order ahead 15 minutes. I then walked inside and waited another 15 minutes. As I waited at the register to be acknowledged and pay, the owner continuously passed by me to go to the kitchen. I understand they were slammed. However, I should have been greeted at the very least. I waited longer hoping they would say something to me. I have been coming here for a long time. But it never happened and I finally got tired of waiting. So I walked out. I won’t go back. I love the food. The customer service was horrible this last time.

Awesome Colombian food. I’ve eaten with good Colombian friends and they all say it’s close to home. They have goodies and treats too. As a plus they serve regular Mexican food as well. Strongly recommend it.

I loved it! First time trying Colombian and I was impressed. Prices are a little up there for someone on a budget but friendly staff. The place is really small so ended up taKing it to go. I Had Arrepas, empanadas, and best of all was the chicharonn! I will definitely come back! Salut!

I tried this place because I had a certificate from and the reviews made it seem like a pretty legitimate place so I figured we would give it a shot. We walked in and saw that there really wasn’t a dining area. There were about 3 tables to sit at but in this particular instance, there were kids hanging all over the tables. There was a man behind the counter talking loudly on his phone who didn’t greet us when we walked in, but instead nodding his head at a woman sitting at one of the tables with the children. I realized that this man was the owner and she was his wife. All of the kids at the tables were theirs or at least under their supervision. The woman got up from the table and took our orders. We decided on the flauta and asada plates because that was what was recommended. We also ordered a bean, bacon and cheese taco. We sat at the only table that didn’t have children at it and waited about 5 – 10 minutes. I was curious to as why we were the only patrons despite the fact that the food looked so good on the walls and menu. When our order was ready, we paid and the manager made sure the food was ready to go. We even heard his wife mention the taco to him in Spanish, We took the food to go, hungry and eager to get home. Halfway there, my girlfriend mentioned that the taco wasn’t in the bag. I called the place and informed them and then we turned back around. We got there and he apologized for forgetting the taco. It wasn’t going to give me the last 10 minutes of my life back and he didn’t offer anything else, so I just took the taco and left. On the drive back, we noticed that the taco was not the one we had ordered, but by this time, we were too annoyed to go back for a third time. The plates were very generic and the portions weren’t very generous at all. The rice and beans were fairly bland, but nothing a little salt and a lot of salsa couldn’t help with. The asada was decent but the flautas were small, stale and dry. Sorry to type a novel over this, but I’ve worked customer service all my life and love Mexican food, and I was hugely disappointed by both offered by Sabor De Sanchez. And I had that for 60% discount. Save your money for another establishment.

I came here wanting to have my first taste of Colombian food, and I was not disappointed! Not knowing anything about the cuisine, my group let the man working there make his recommendations, which was a great idea. My personal favorites were the plantains, empanadas(never seen an empanada crust like this before and it was great), chicharrón, passionfruit(maracuyá) drink with milk, and the AREPAS! If you don’t get anything else here, get the arepas! Cheesy, crispy, comforting heaven. They are also masters at seasoning their meat — definitely go for a sampler platter if you’re feeling adventurous! I’m 100% going back here.

We’ve ordered take-out from Sabor several times and the food is always delicious and prepared quickly but still very fresh. I always special order something(but hold the this and add some of that) and they always, always get it right. The owners are very personable and I enjoy my chats with them.
