First, the good things about this complex are it’s in a decent location, nice pools, and appliances, but appearances can be deceiving. BEWARE of the 4 or 5 star reviews because it appears that those people«just moved in» and haven’t gone through the hell of moving out. Had I written a review while I was living there, I would have given more stars, too.(Of course the office are going to be nice to get you to move in). I had a terrible experience dealing with management, which made me regret giving my business to such a deceitful and shady corporation.(The managers have no shame hiding behind company policies even though they know that what they are doing is WRONG). For example, the I was charged for damage done to the blind by the previous owner’s pet. When I did my initial walk through, I didn’t even notice it because there were only a few bite marks at the bottom of the blind(which wasn’t at eye level because it covers the patio door). A few days after moving in, I called the office to tell them about the blind and the patio door that was sticking. They said they would make note of it. After I moved out, I was charged for replacing the blind that was damaged by the previous owner. If they have such a meticulous eye, why was this blind not replaced BEFORE I moved in? Now I’m paying for someone else’s damage and of course it’s easy for management to blame me because I didn’t take pictures when I moved in so I have no proof. I wanted to ask the manager about some of the move out charges that I incurred, so I called to speak with her before paying my final bill. She never called me back, and next thing I knew, I received a collections letter. I called again, and the manager was still out so I spoke with the assistant manager who could not make any decisions or tell me any information, and said that she would have the manager call me. Days passed and again I did not receive a call. I called and left a message and still did not get a return phone call. I called yet again, and the manager was still not available. MYBILLWASSENTTOCOLLECTIONS, BUTTHEMANAGERNEVERRETURNEDMYCALLS(and my first call was BEFORE their 30 day payment deadline). Before you move in, just consider this: is this the type of management that you’d like to deal with? Is this a business you’d like to give money to? Another shady thing happened when they changed the automatic payment system online. There is a substantial extra fee(around $ 20) for paying with a credit card or debit card, but it’s only a few dollars extra to pay from a checking account. When I entered my checking account FROMMYCHECKS, the system recognizes it as a «debit card» and charges the $ 20 additional fee. When I brought this to the attention of the manager, she played dumb and would not address the issue, and if I didn’t pay I would have been screwed with a late fee anyway so I just paid to get it over with. Also, there was a really shoddy plaster job in my shower. The plaster on the wall fell off, revealing a giant baseball-sized area of BLACKMOLD. The office did send maintenance to fix it, but it took over a week for maintenance to arrive-this is a HEALTHISSUE that needs to be addressed immediately. Also, maintenance had to come several times to completely cover up the black mold, and were always days later than they said they would arrive.(Another apartment I lived in nearby sent maintenance the very next day to deal with black mold because it is DANGEROUS). WARNING: If you choose to live here, make sure you take pictures of the entire apartment before and after moving out. Double, triple, check all of your signed documents for accuracy(because I didn’t find out until after moving out that there was an error on my lease on the part of the employee, which turned out to be very costly for me). Get everything the manager tells you in writing because when you move out they will charge for EVERYTHING even if it is not your fault. I deeply regret living here, it was NOT worth it. Remember, appearances are deceiving… poor management makes a poor living experience.
