I don’t know that I can really say anything more than what others have already covered. — The service is always fast and accurate but not necessarily friendly — The dark red smoky chipotle salsa is top notch — They have some of the best retried beans in the city — Potent but smooth margaritas.

Very disappointed with wait staff my husband and I come here often and have never had a problem until today. The hostess sat us down in a different section then usual the one that looks out onto the patio. We were seated at a table in the corner with no silverware. A bus boy brought our chips and water. The hostess brought our silverware. After more than 10 minutes of waiting wait staff never approached us for our drink or food order. It was not even busy we went at 4:25 pm and there was only two other tables in our section that already had food. My husband and I just walked out and left. Very upset with the lack of service. I was going to let the hostess know but nobody was to be found on the way out. My husband and I will not be dining here anymore.

This is our second time here. We came on December 15, 2015 to celebrate our son big accomplishment his graduation. We were fifteen in our party and we were pleased with our server Gustavo, he did such a good job getting everybody’s order correct and on a timely manner. He was very kind and courteous. We enjoyed it so very much, delicious food, good company but more important our son milestone in his life.

First time here and was severely disappointed. The charro beans were flavorless. The Carnitas tacos were less than flavorful with a mushy texture. The servers were awesome but I will not waste my money here again.

I had a great experience here. The food was great but more exceptional was the staff. They made us feel cared about and that we actually mattered. My grandfather who is 90 was taken care of and watched over by the staff. We will be back.

I came here for breakfast on a cold rainy Saturday’s and boy what a treat! The service was amazing right out the gate! Some of the best breakfast tacos I’ve ever tasted! The carnitas and small norteno were kill every thing hit the mark. And as an added bonus if you know a little bit of Spanish listening to the kitchen staff can be hilarious! I will defiantly be coming here again.

I came here on a weekday for lunch with a pretty big group of friends(10 people) and we were seated immediately– although we were seated outdoors. The outdoor area was really nice though with a lot of greenery– tropical forest like which is kinda random. Our waitress was awesome– we got chips and salsa immediately and it was really good. The salsa was kinda smokey and the chips were warm. We also got complimentary soup so that was awesome. For the entrée I got the white cheese enchiladas– it wasn’t anything special that you couldn’t get somewhere else but it was still good. Overall I had a good experience and the service was great!

Being from St Louis, I was hoping to find some great Mexican food in San Antonio, but this was not the place. The atmosphere was great, but the food did not have great flavor and seemed to be low quality. I had the chile relleno, which was very mushy. My colleague had shrimp tacos which were under flavored.

It was a really nice place, excellent service, but the food was not as great as if hoped for. This place was recommended by a friend and I was disappointed. The taste of the food was not the typical Mexican flavor these types of dishes have or that I am used to. I just hope that it was a bad day for the chef because if not it would’ve been a superb place to dine in often. Just FYI, We had the chile en nogada, the mole, and the enchiladas de mariscos.

Great Margaritas and Chispas. Food is really good, I would recommend Tampiqueña del Chef and Pollo Loco.

Raul grenas was the most amazing waiter I have had in a long time, possibly in years. He loves his job and it shows in his service and passion for helping others. The only reason I am writing this review is so that I can remember his name the next time I come back. P. s. the cilantro enchiladas were fabulous.

This restaurant is excellent. Consistently great cuisine and impeccable service. One of our favorite places to go and definitely where the locals know to go.

Garden was gorgeous and the ceviche delicious, the service was terrible(Jesus, older bald guy). So disappointed. Tried to order signature ceviche, 86d. We Sat for 30min after having appetizer sent out, server checked in 30 minutes later to see how we were doing. Not impressed. Garden is gorgeous, salsa is fantastic, chips are fresh.

One of our favorite Mexican restaurants. Authentic meals– not that Alamo café junk. The patio is beautiful. You get chips and salsa and the food is always fresh. A Alamo heights hot spot.

The food is good. Don’t get me wrong.(We have only ever ordered the Tacos Noteños and all but one time, they were great.) However, service also comprises a huge part of how we choose where to dine. I can make a delicious dinner at home, but we pay a premium to be waited on and have someone else cook our food. This evening, we walked in to SoLuna and were put on a wait(no problem). A few other parties(with 3 – 4 people each, just like us) arrived and were also added to the list and then seated before us. After the second or third instance of this that we noticed, we asked the host what was going on. He said that the other parties did arrive after us but he had to seat them first«because the hostess told him to.» All we can figure is that we were not seated in the order of or arrival because we have a 4 year old and 1.5 year old and they were trying to seat us in the back room out of the way. When my husband went to speak with a manager about it, she first told him she didn’t speak very good English. He then tried to talk to her in Spanish. She then shirked the blame off on the host saying that it was his mistake and she would not accept responsibility nor would she apologize. We will be taking our business elsewhere. I’m very disappointed with the lack of service we received here.

Upscale Mexican and pleasant enough. The draw is a fantastic room and patio with tremendously huge glass windows and greenery and light everywhere. A perfect place to start your weekend drinking strong fruity tequila drinks, linger and dawdle over breakfast or lunch and then coast through the next two days. The food is fine. I did the mixed enchilada plate(here called mexican plate which is a subtle way of saying — okay for gringo customers.) two out of the three enchiladas were very very fine indeed(a enchilada suiza variant and one with a mild creamy salsa verde variant). the third — more of a straight chipotle concept was not thrilling but was respectable. my wife’s fish with vera cruz sauce was standard mexican fish with the standard suave tomato sauce with a reasonably solid execution. she was not complaining. i thought the chips and salsa were surprisingly poor for upscale.(under-fried chips and an acrid not-that-tasty chipotle salsa) my wife who normally hates chips and dip adored them. go figure. one other note — the wooden chairs were somewhat falling apart. one had to be swapped out — and the one i finally sat in was not exactly a pillar of strength. hey management: time to invest in some new furniture for the main dining room! still — the food is good, the room is good, and with the crowds pouring through the door — management probably has the budget to make the necessary upgrades. i was stone cold sober this trip — that said, this strikes me as a superlative place to drink. a good plate of food — a beautiful sunlit room — a nice bar and nothing much to do for a while? this could be okay. and if i end up on the floor, its the chair! its the chair!

This was a Monday night and the restaurant was a third full. The service was therefore quick and precise, attentiveness was excellent from the staff. I ordered the enchiladas Soluna, three sauces of varying heat and taste. Super delicious and moist chicken within the corn over wrap. The price was set appropriately for my entrée. I will return to this beautifully decorated establishment very soon.

I’m in town for work which means comp-ed dinners and the ability to see what’s available out and about in San Antonio. I came here yesterday with my brother and it was a little disappointing. We were seated promptly upon walking through the front area right behind a fountain. Needless to say, our view of anything other then the fountain was quite restricted. After perusing the menu…(and noting that there was no happy hour menu) we settled upon $ 13.00 chicken/beef nachos to share since we had a movie to catch later that evening. We finished our complimentary basket of chips and salsas… which were ok. There was a blended bright orange one and a typical charred tomato salsa. Both were ok and the chips were fine. And then we sat. And sat. And sat. After about 20 minutes the nachos came out. Gratefully, they were accompanied with guacamole and jalapenos. No refill on chips, btw. No refill on salsas either. The chicken was dry and stringy. The beef, which were diced, was tough and overcooked. There were profuse amounts of gummy cheese on the nachos. And then we sat. And sat. And sat. Without cutlery, mind you. I had to get up and ask the front staff for it. The bill came finally after our waiter disappeared for 30 minutes. I came here once before, on a work dinner. Things were much better then. I think this place is starting to go downhill and there are so many better places to eat. What a shame.

Dayum! I had a great time here with my cousin! The prices might be a little high but if you order the right food and drinks, you might be willing to come back again because it would be worth it. The margarita is good! All you need is two and you’ll be laughing your ass off. Trust me… just two! No need for the fancy schmancy flavor or whatever. Just get the basic margarita and you’ll be in a good mood in no time! Enchiladas de mole is what you need to order! I was trying not to have an orgasm like Meg Ryan in Sleepless in Seattle but it was that good! The chips and salsa were decent, nothing impressive. The place was alright. At first glacé, it looked nice. But, when you look at the ceiling, you can’t help but wonder if that was overlooked during renovation. I’ll definitely come back and feast with awesome friends!

This open establishment is great when you have a large party whose wanting to eat together. I must say that their margaritas are pretty good. The food is decent but do beware the prices can be a little high for some of the plates. The staff is very friendly and attentive which is always nice. Nice restaurant for a change in your standard go to places.
