Went to this place for the first time. The food was excellent and the service was even better. I wii be visiting them again soon.

This place was awful. All of the salad looked like it had been sitting out all day, barely any fruit selection and the soup also looked as if it had been sitting out. I originally bought the buffet for my son and myself but the buffet looked so un-appetizing that i went back to the register and ordered the soup and sandwich combos. 20 minutes later when our food finally came out, i was even more disappointed. I couldnt even finish my meal… we left after a few bites ;(

Good variety of fresh food especially the salad toppings. Friendly staff too. Ladies room could use some extra attention.

I love Souper Salad. I’d been to this location before, but never again. Lots of items looked like they’d sat there all day, while others were empty, the lettuce was wilted, the mushrooms were very discolored, the chili was cold, nothing was fresh(NOTHING)! My wife, my son, and I served up what ever we could find that looked edible, but shortly after sitting down, we decided it would be better to ask for a refund. If they refused, we were going to leave anyways. It was that bad. The manager was nice enough to refund our money, no questions asked though. I think he knew what shape the place was in. I don’t know, maybe they were short handed or something.

I don’t usually review restaurant chains, but I got to say something about the salad here. Boy, this new«fruit salad» that souper salad is offering sounded delicious, but PLEASE stay away from it! I’m pretty sure the dressing is just straight white vinegar and sugar, I can’t taste anything else! The ceasar salad also tasted a bit bitter, I didn’t think it was possible to mess up ceasar salad. I’m not sure if i’m speaking for the whole chain or if it’s just this one, but these salad«chefs» need to work on their skills more. Oh, and their coke is so flat, it felt like it was just sitting there for days. Other than that, this Souper Salad does have a little bit nicer ambiance than every other location I’ve been to. I’ll add a star for that.

I’m kind of grossed out by this place. I honestly believe that most patrons, who visit this location to consume«healthy» options, put so much CRAP on their salads that these things are still 1,000 calories. I’m a bit of a germ-a-phobe, so I didn’t like the open«grab it yourself» option and worried there was all sorts of garbage on my lettuce and vegetables.

Went here on a whim while shopping in the area and looking for something different/new to do for lunch, and was pleasantly surprised. It’s a standard salad/soup bar/buffet. Walk in, pay, grab a plate, and go for it. The buffet was full of fresh options, be it hot or cold. Options included salad, soup, baked potatoes, as well as nachos, macaroni cheese, baked goods, ice cream, etc. The seating area was clean with two to three waitstaff members running around everywhere checking on guests and taking plates. My only wish was that there was an option to tip when paying. I was unaware of the dining set up and it stinks when you have no cash to tip with. I will be back however next time I’m in the area and looking for a fast, fresh, and healthy lunch alternative.

It’s a chain, so chances are you’ve been to one before. It’s kinda difficult to mess up a salad bar… keep things tidy and full. The thing that made me give this location a review and 4 stars is the service. The same two women have worked there for at least 5 years… they remember me, they know what I drink, and are very friendly. It’s amazing how 3 star food get’s upgraded by such a simple thing… service.

Won’t be back. Haven’t been there in years but had a coupon so I went back. Now I remember why I stopped going. Several of the«clean» plates were dirty, no bowls for the soup, no bowls for the dessert, two of the three Ranch dressing bottles were empty, lettuce was brown, several salad toppings needed to be refilled — all of this work to be done and a steady stream of customers coming in, yet the servers/employees were standing around in two little groups, chatting and laughing. Not even worth it with a coupon.

Horrible food. Even worse experience. The Salad toppings are less than fresh. All the baked goods were cold. Two different plates I received were dirty. Pasta salad had a hair. I was given attitude from the manager for ordering a custom pizza from the cook which said previously was fine since I do not eat cheese. The manager gave me some story about the pizzas being

Moderate sized buffet of salad, 5 different soups, baked potato and taco fixings, pizza, and small dessert bar. Nothing bad, nothing great, but good bargain for your buck type of place. Would like to see a meat to top your salad off with, though they do seem to take good care of what is available. Well maintained.

We went here for dinner during dinner. I agree with the other reviewer that this place has gone downhill. I found that the salad vegetables to be dry and brownish. The vegetables also tasted dull. The salads lack the taste of freshness that I normally would expect from a salad place. The salads were also not kept cold. Try Souplantation if you go out to California. Their pasta salads, soups and corn breads were ok. Nothing to write home about. The place is getting old and is in need of redecorating. Our server brought drink refills, but did not come back to check on us. I would not recommend this place.

We went on a visit to San Antonio and Austin for almost two weeks and this place was the lowlight of our entire visit. We took my sister there for a quick lunch on her birthday before we departed for Austin, and I now feel embarrassed about choosing this site. I was expecting Souplantation or Sweet Tomatoes, both restaurants that we were familiar with and really liked from California, but I don’t know if it was this location, or the limited quality of food– it was all an abysmal experience. Pros: Location was convenient, parking was easy. Acceptable cornbread(honestly, Jiffy mixes are better), the gingerbread was really good, and the tiny breadsticks and ranch dressing kept me pretty full until our next meal. Cons: The restaurant was a little musty(it was over 100 degrees out), and the food was school cafeteria quality– I know– I’ve worked at four different schools. The soups were very limited, the best choice, I thought, would be the minestrone, but it just tasted like a bunch of canned vegetables were dumped into a crockpot for 10 minutes– it had absolutely no flavor. My sister had the baked potato soup and it was thin– again, no flavor. There were two or three salads– the Caesar was acceptable– just standard, and the other– spinach and mandarin– something like that, was overdressed and the dressing was foul. The vegetable offering was standard, the baked potato bar needed to be cleaned and refilled, and the dessert offering was subpar– red jello, a yogurt machine, and a full container of sponge cake that looked like it was beaten to death with a potato masher by Animal from the Muppets. Our waitress was notably bad– she didn’t have that many tables and didn’t take our drink order until after we had already been eating for 10 minutes. She also was very suspicious and demanding about an extra drink we had ordered that, after we checked, was not on our drink ticket(maybe she had been burned before??). We were going to omit the tip had it not been for the one-year old we brought with us who partied hard and left a mess on the carpet. For our sake, we did clean ALL the notable pieces up from the carpet.

What happened to the old Souper Salad that I used to know and love? The servers at this location were the only silver lining at this location. We arrived at my old favorite and wow I wish we would have not found it. We arrived there at 6:28 and not only was the lettuce almost gone but they were out of ranch? The set up of the salad bar was strange and lacking in variety. The pizza was cold even after them bringing out a «fresh» one. The dinner buffet was 7.24 a person and my husband and I tried to find something we could even eat that make the price worth it. Whatever you do please dont face the buffet because you will loose your appetite from watching the staff replacing the product with their bare hands then touching their hair, pants, etc. Again the servers were nice but it seemed that everyone else at that location seemed unhappy to be there including what I think was a female manager? I will not be returning to this location and if I do decide to try another location I will look at the buffet before paying.

Went to Souper Salad! tonight and it was pretty good. The salad bar was a little small compared to other places like Fresh Choice or Sweet Tomatoes. The soup bar had four soups, I tried the corn bread soup and I liked it very much. However, I do wish they had a little more variety as far as types of soups. The cornbread was a little dry but I found that the cornbread in SA is different than in California. The cornbread at Cracker Barrel and Souper Salad! are a dryer variety that requires a lot of butter. The baked potatoe and sweet potatoe were very good. That might have been the my favorite part of dinner. Overall I thought the place was clean, had great service, good prices, and has decent selection of food. If you’re hurtin for a salad and some variety, this is the right place to go. But if you’re feeling adventurous and want to try something new, you might want to look elsewhere.

Oooh, favorite place ever! We have similar joints around here, like Fresh Choice, but for some reason Souper Salad holds a very special place in my heart. Maybe its all those times I would go with friends, and pig out to the point of nearly passing out because it was ok… it’s healthy food! Had I been allowed to date in high school, I would have been a very cheap date. All I wanted was a ginormous plate of salad, baked potatos and neverending breadsticks, at the tiny little price of seven bucks.
