Be aware of this hack. Even though you pay for a seat in A group to get a better seat of your choice and to avoid delay in deplaning, others can buy only one A group seat but save seats for those with B or even C group and can tell you that and it is allowed. It’s better to know what you are buying.

Southwest has always been #1 in my book.

Going al the way to back in the days when San Antonio was one of the only hubs that SWA flew to from Love Field in Dallas.
It’s fun that there are no seat assignments, and the points mean virtually nothing anymore.
The seats are all leather, which seems like an extravagance, but when you think about how many people fly and how much more durable and comfortable they are, it makes sense.
Bags fly free!
The flight attendants are generally in a good mood and joke around over the intercom, which is nice when you’ve just had to deal with putting up with the TSA and standing around in line.
The fares are generally cheaper than the competitors’, especially when you factor in a lack of bag fees.

I thought our flight left at 10:55 so we go there at 9:45 and was told we are going to miss our flight which was supposed to depart at 9:55. Well after running and butting our way through the security check line we made it PLUS our bags. I LOVE Southwest Airlines!

This is the best airline in this time era to fly. They are easy simple and safe. They get you from point A to point B, and cost is reasonable. Why do other airlines try to be so jiggery-​pokery with fees and baggage cost? Especially like the friendliest flight attendants that put their own twist on the safety briefing. Keep us flying with a company we trust.

Recently flew on 4 Southwest flights and I am not flying Southwest again. Boarding is like a cattle call with grown adults acting like preschoolers pushing and shoving to get onboard first. Our flight was super delayed because of a rainstorm, and the employees at the desk were not the least bit helpful. We had someone in our group who was disabled and needed her medicine while the Southwest employees didn’t seem to want to offer a later flight that evening or any other option to us that would enable us to get her home that same evening. Flight attendants were nice and seemed competent, but there was just no reasoning behind the boarding method, and no one seemed willing to cooperate.

I’m extremely aggravated with southwest more than the actual airport itself. I’m not sure how but when I flew in to drop off my son to his mother my intention was to grab a bite to eat and relax a little bit, instead at the gate she was there waiting. He was not a UAM, she’s not military, or any other special circumstances but somehow, someone let her through and she was able to find out our gate and times without my knowledge. For not wanting to start a skirmish in the airport I simply complied with her and basically lost precious hours with my son. I only get him twice a year so you can imagine my disgust and distaste I have for whomever let her through to the gate without any need besides her own selfish needs. Amazing how everywhere in Texas will always cater to the mother but a father that pays $ 1,000 a month in child support and all travel expenses is still a dead beat… Southwest basically just spat in my face making it look like I can’t care for a 6 year old boy enough to get him back to his mother and like I said lost lots of time I could have used to talk and play with him for a few minutes longer… I WILL NEVER FLY THROUGH SAN ANTONIO AGAIN, and I’m strongly debating maxing what points I have with southwest and cutting my ties with them as well. Got my flight re booked since I’m stuck at the airport alone now for an earlier flight and already cancelled my rental car and LOST MY DEPOSIT that I’ll no longer need. The airports make tsa on a godly level so I didn’t start anything here but, I will pursue this matter with southwest as well for I am hot about this. Never have I ever felt so betrayed by a major corporation till now. And shame on you San Antonio international! I see you support military so hard here, with me being active duty I’ll see to it that all my future travel will involve no layovers or stops here and I will spread the word through my command and to other commands that Texas does not indeed support active duty military and heaven forbid you’re a single father on top of that.
On top of all that there is no consistency… As active duty military sometimes I’m a pre board, sometimes I can board between A and B, and why does it matter if I’m in uniform… You do realize were encouraged not to travel in uniform as it makes us a target for terrorism… We get everyone only views as trophy and you want everyone to see you supporting military but seriously be consistent… Get it together southwest… The world is bound by rules and we use those to govern by, at least stick to a series of rules all the way across the board and train your people better!

So sad leaving a 2* review after all the positive things I heard about Southwest. I flew with them for the first time last Thursday (San Diego to San Antonio) and our flight was delayed (we were never told why). I then flew on Southwest from San Antonio to Boston (with a layover in Baltimore). So, let’s see. The first flight was delayed to the point where, if we actually took off and landed at the updated time, I would have 25 – 30 mins before my next flight left. Oh, this flight was also in a different concourse.
I went up to one of the representatives and explained my situation and asked if I could be upgraded to a earlier seating number so I could get a seat towards the front of the place. He checked the computer and said the only way for him to upgrade me would be if I paid $ 40. Um, really?
So, I didn’t pay, but managed to get a middle seat towards the front of the plane. Now the fun part. The flight ended up being so delayed that I (along with 2 others) had 8 minutes from the time we landed to catch our flight to Boston. SERIOUSLY.
And, of course, this flight had to be the furthest gate in a different concourse.
All I can say is that I’m grateful for all the half marathon training I’ve done because ho-​ly ish… I’ve never sprinted so fast for that great of a distance in my life.
Luckily I (and at least one other) made the connection.
Not impressed by their customer service, their delays, and their overbooking.

Great check-​in process, adequate seating at the gates. While my stay wasn’t long, either on my way in or upon my exit from the San Antonio area, the Southwest Airlines areas were very pleasant and offered the transient traveler a nice respite from the hustle and bustle of TSA inspections and such.

I’m not a fan anymore, don’t know if I ever was, of Southwest airline’s approach to seating. More and more people are paying extra to check in early just to get a better spot in line, which just means that Southwest is finding more ways to charge passengers for nothing, i.e. you still don’t get good seating or first class or any snacks to speak of, etc.

This review is for the lost baggage. We went to LV last June. We checked in our baggages, but they have lost my baggage. BF got his and I didnt. We filed a report on the day they lost my baggage, at the Nevada airport right after we couldnt find my luggage.
We called everyday but still nothing… Their scripted line is «we are actively seeking your luggage». Before we went back to San Diego, we went buy the SWA baggage area and double checked if they have located it still, nothing. So we headed back to SD. When we arrive in SD, we went to the SWA baggage area to ask if they could check any baggages that wasn’t claimed and we still didnt find it.
We filed the lost baggage claim and BF sent it by July 3. When he called them up, they said they received the claim and they have additional 30 days from July 7 to «actively seek» for the luggage.
Now its August. They have closed our case and BF got a check for $ 700+ as opposed to our claim of $ 1300 loss.
The customer service sucks!!! Almost 3 months of waiting and then for the claim, they pretty much give out 60% of what you claimed.
Awful!!!

Southwest, I don’t know what you’ve changed in the last couple years but I feel like you’ve hired comedians to work sporadic flights. I’ve witnessed flight attendants singing on the intercom, other jingles that have been sung, and jokes told.
All in all, who could hate you. My flight might be running late right now but at least y’all are fun to be around.
I appreciate the no separation from «upper» class to «lower» class seating. We’re all just on the same ride today.
So buckle up folks, something unique is sure to happen. At least you snooty folks won’t receive the proper attention you think you paid for.

I have really come to love Southwest and am disappointed when I have to use an alternate carrier.
The first time I did «the line up» I was a little intimidated but it has become my favorite way of boarding planes! I actually prefer it over the group boarding that most airlines do.
The flight attendants seem more outgoings and joke around, even over the PA. Much more enjoyable flights as a result.
Drinks available as usual. Snacks usually as well.

Traveling can be a bear from time to time and it’s always nice to have an Airline that offers:
Two free checked bags
Two carry on bags
Rapid Reward points for free flights or upgrades
Consistently timely and clean planes
Funny and efficient airline crew
Comfy chairs in the seating area with outlets for every technology
Southwest, you are my go to airline and you serve me well. I will be a loyal traveler from now until forever. Keep up the great work and keep me happy and I’ll keep handing over my money as the need for travel arises.

Southwest is by far superior to other airlines when it comes to flying coach. First, they don’t charge fr bags for the first TWO bags. This came in handy on our family vacation of 4. We checked in a total of 7 bags and they were easily handled without charge!
I also checked in 2 firearms and I was very skeptical at first but they made it easy, quick and most of all simple! It took an extra 5 minutes to security screen! I made sure to do my homework before I left so I wouldn’t be surprised.
My return flight to Atlanta was booked through AirTran which I don’t care about. Not as friendly and helpful. But …
