I’m at an age where I go in for annual exams, and I’ve been to quite a few of these places. Yes, it’s pretty and pink, and they offer you cookies and a rose, as previously stated, but that’s not what matters to me. I don’t want to feel like I’m being rushed in and out, like what happened to me today. The technician even said she didn’t think she got good images but she sent me on my way instead of trying to get better ones. Not thorough, not professional, and not a place I’ll go to next year even if they give me a dozen pink roses!

Recently I wanted to move to a closer place to home to have my annual mammogram done at. My insurance listed this place as an approved in network. I was not prepared for what awaited me. I started by checking in what appeared a waiting room like any other I have been to. The clerk informed me that the «Mammogram Boutique“was around the corner. I entered this waiting room in amazement. The room was decorated in pink tones with lovely wall hangings and comfortable wingback chairs. In one corner of the room was a beautiful set up of a tea set, donuts, water and coffee. When called to back, the décor theme continues. More wingback chairs and changing rooms complete with lockers that you keep the key after deposited your clothing and valuables. I almost burst into tears when handed a colorful cloth gown in a plastic cover (you see I was used to short paper one size fits all half top disposable top). The staff were efficient and friendly. As I completed my test, I was offered a beautiful pink antique rose. In addition soft classical music was piped throughout the place. This is the first time I have ever been treated like royalty for this type of medical appointment.
