This apartment residency is a great way to enjoy San Antonio from the heart of where everything is happening. A simple walk downstairs drops you in the heart of the Pearl district with a variety of restaurants and bars to please any stomach and wallet, not to mention the great Farmers Market on the weekends. The apartments are super modern with all appliances and a washer and dryer equipped in each unit. The views of the city and the Pearl district are nice at night but the traffic noise from the highway does creep into your home environment. My building had a TV located downstairs in the lobby and it was great to watch the Women’s World Cup and meet some new friends. The leasing office is nice and they have a shuffle board table, foose ball, and free Starbucks drip coffee. Only problem is the place is only open during the leasing office hours, which makes it really difficult to use. The gym is great and has all the essentials to get a good work out but I’d highly recommend taking your cardio session outdoors since the river walk is literally across the street. The pool is awesome and a great place to make some new friends and get a couple of beers as well. They have two propane grills in the area that you can use to grill up your dinner(for the week as I did) while taking a quick dip in the pool. The restaurants in the actual Pearl district are a little pricey but the food is unique and flavorful enough to justify the splurge. I’d recommend Southerlieghs but if you’re looking for something with a little more flair head over to Taco’s N Tequila or TNT. Looking for a brew, head over to Taco Land but be warned, no actual tacos are served unless the food truck is there.

There are nice things about the can plant, but unfortunately they are overshadowed by the greed of the management company. The location is great, but the buildings are of cheap construction and every time it rains the top floor(where I lived in bldg 3) would leak water and the mold and mildew smell was awful. The walls are paper thin, and there are no handicapped access entrances or automatic doors. I was on crutches for months and it’s difficult to get in and out. They are also terrible to deal with on finances. You get charged a $ 3.25/mo «billing fee». If you go to paperless statements, you still have to pay it. A fee to charge me my rent? Ridiculous. The valet trash of $ 22/mo is mandatory, even if you want to opt out. I lived directly next to the trash chute. On top of that, they charged me $ 50 for leaving some extra cleaning supplies behind(in good faith). This was for«removal» to the trash chute. Not a big deal, but they charged me 2 full months of trash at $ 22, even though I moved out mid-month. When I asked to have the $ 50 reversed, they said it wasn’t in our agreement for them to accept cleaning supplies(a can of comet and windex here). They are treating residents like that because they run at 98%+ occupancy all the time, so they milk you for everything they can because they can get away with it. Cheap, overpriced apartments with greedy management. They bank on this because of the location. A couple of the leasing agents(like Bianca) are very nice. I blame their bosses for this review.

My husband and I live here, and it is absolutely wonderful! The amenities and staff are absolutely fantastic and it’s the coolest place to live! Based upon the pricing of other apartments nearby, this is actually a bargain! We found the Can Plant to be far nicer than any of the surrounding options. If you are looking for a move into the Pearl, I highly recommend the Can Plant! Between the security, the atmosphere, the condition of the apartment, door side trash service, and even dry cleaning services, you cannot find a better place to live!

I may consider a move to this spot, here’s why: Less expensive, but in a better location, than my current apartment. Bars, restaurants, and shops galore are right in the Pearl(where these Apts are) The 1BR are smaller than my current space, but the island in the kitchens are awesome decent size dog park, but right down the road from brackenridge right off 281 and 35, too

This place has great ammenities, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is great… being right in the Pearl Brewery… there are lots of cool restuarants and shops on the ground level. Rent is a bit pricey for what you get, but then again I suppose you are paying for location… and location is everything, right?
