The Vitamin Shoppe

I primarily shop The Vitamin Shoppe online because it is more convenient, but I occasionally have used this store because it is right by my office. My most recent experience was soooooooooo bad, I have decided not to shop at The Vitamin Shoppe at all.
Being a baby-​boomer, I’m old enough to know what good customer service is supposed to look like. If The Vitamin Shoppe is going to hire people who are THAT ignorant, they don’t really want my business.
Here is what happened:
My sister asked me to pick up some Gaba Calm lozenges for her. When I got to the store, I realized I didn’t have my wallet. (fell under the car set unbeknownst to me.) I said, «I don’t have my wallet. Can I write a check?» Clerk: «Sure, you have a card on file with us don’t you?» Me: Yes.
So he watches me WRITE the check. Then takes it and says: I just need to see your driver’s license. Me: (staring in incredulity) «I just got through telling you I don’t have my wallet.» Clerk: Sorry, ma’am, then I can’t take this check (very matter-​of-​factly and with no apology whatsoever.
Me: (growing rage) Then what was the point of having a card on file with my Driver’s License on it? Clerk: I’m sorry. There is nothing I can do…(very fake smile) Have a nice day!
As I said, if The Vitamin Shoppe is going to hire people who are THAT stupid and insensitive and have policies that are THAT inane, they do not deserve my fairly substantial business. I can always go back to Cost Plus Nutrition where the service is always phenomenal or buy online from Amazon.

I heard back from the Store Manager and even more irritated now than I was the retail rep.
NOTE TO THE VITAMIN SHOPPE: If you are NOT going to actually act like someone in Authority and do something to SATISFY THE CUSTOMER, especially if your only reason for calling is to try to point out to the customer that they are WRONG, you are way better off NOT calling the former customer back.

My new favorite store equipped with an extremely intelligent staff! I walked in and they escorted me to what I needed and recommended other supplements to try. I almost felt as if I was speaking to a trainer/​nutritionist.

This is a super place to find unusual herbs in pill, liquid & even aromatic methods. They carry a special section just for children. Impressively with fish oils, probiotics, & several multi vitamins, to name a few. What any good vitamin shop needs is knowledgable staff & the staff here has always known what I was talking about, located it easily & were able to answer questions. What’s also nice is that the workers have also taken a variety of the supplements, so can personally vouch for some. There’s a reward program as well. Reasonable prices, great selection & friendly staff has made this my go to place for herbal remedies.
