Updated Dec 14, 2015: This company has earned a 4.5 star rating due to customer service. Wish Unilocal could change ratings. Just installed a 5Ghz wifi usb adapter to take advantage of the Asus routers bandwidth of both 2.4 Ghz &5Ghz frequencies. Wow! I am amazed and posting new pictures from the original PC desktop. Running Microsoft Windows Vista Basic and computer is 7 years old. About a week ago had emailed Vivint customer service to credit my upcoming bill due to an outage for 1.5 days. They took care of it right away with no questions asked. Yes, I can recommend them for your hi speed internet. Remember its over wi-fi. Read the rest of my review. Vivint wireless has only been in San Antonio about 9 months and are doing quiet well. Not all areas are serviced but here in Helotes they have a footprint. I can’t believe there has been no other reviews from any San Antonio residents. I have no landline service(Google hangouts — free), use an OTA antenna and no cable/satellite TV service. Just Amazon Prime, stream movies, video and any other needs. A Vivint rep came to my home the first week of May 2015. I told him the time was right because I was entering the last month of my AT&T contract. We got setup for wireless internet 2 days later. I wasn’t aware of the concept but he explained it was over wi-fi using hub homes. It was different and I wanted to try another company other than the normal offerings of AT&T, TWC, Grande, etc… If you’re like me keep reading. Initial contract was the standard 24-months for an introductory rate of 6 months for $ 39.99 for 100mbps down/upload speeds guaranteed in their contract. After which rates go to $ 59.99 for the remaining 18 months. Rates included router rental fee. Nice! After their 5 business days of trying out the service it was not for us. Speeds were nice not great. Download speed was in the 40mbps range. Not what they promised but they tweaked the signal and the router was replaced with two new Asus Dual band RT-N66W routers to better the signal/bandwidth but I was already going to cancel. When calling to cancel I told them I’m not a gamer and couldn’t justify the $ 60 per month after the introductory; when I was paying AT&T about $ 47/month for 15−24Mbps. Wanted to keep my bill the same or less. They offered a different package for 24 month contract at $ 26.35 for first 6 months and the remaining 18 months for $ 46.35. Router rental fee included in cost. This service was for 25Mpbs up/down. Enough for a family of 4. Consistently I have good speeds averaging 20 – 32 Mbps down and 30−45Mbps up. Yes, there is latency when 4 people are using at once. We stream alot so the bandwidth drops to single digits but has never kept anyone from watching/streaming a movie/video. What I have liked about the 6 month experience has been the customer service. It’s based out of Utah and they are always friendly and even make conversation. Emails are answered in a timely manner and provide responsive and good tech support over the phone. While on vacation for 1 month I was able to stop service and earn a credit on my bill even though the internet connection with router and equipment was never disconnected by Vivint. That’s cool! That says a lot about this part of the company. We’ve had a few hiccups in the billing and all have been resolved immediately with a quick email. There have been at least one 9 hour outage due to a cut leased fiber line. No fault of Vivint. HIGHLYRECOMMENDED! — If you can be a HUB home you will get FREE internet for the time you allow the company to place equipment on your rooftop. If your looking for another competive ISP in San Antonio besides the Big Two then Vivint could be right for you. Google fiber won’t be rolling out for another 3 – 4 years. Built this first review and the address is NOT correct. I don’t know how the system entered this info. All other info is accurate Want to know more?
