The drinks were actually really good but the servers/bartenders had the worst people skills and we’re really rude, me and my friends just walked right out after we had our encounter with this lady.

Great place. The liquid marijuana pitchers are beast. You can get KO’d here for about $ 20. The atmosphere is chill, good staff. Free popcorn. I’ll be getting turnt here more often.

The place to go to when you want to get away from the snooty posh like places. Like any dive bar this place has a relaxing ambience. Sat at the bar in a chair that rolled on wheels. Might be donated furniture but nonetheless gives the vibe of someone’s place that they put together . Enjoyed that they offered their guests popcorn ! Movie style kind to pick on while enjoying their drinks and company of friends laughing about whatever. They offer a small room in the side to play pool. Saw two tables and middle room had about 5 tables. Womans bathroom was one stall. Small. I almost walked into the men’s bathroom on accident since it was close to the exit. Didn’t give the extra 2 stars for lack of space . Overall staff was nice. Drinks weren’t overly strong. Good company.

I actually like the place being that it is so close to home! It’s a nice little dive bar and the bartenders are very nice and make good drinks! Here is where I have a problem… I frequent this establishment often and tonight I walk in and the door guy tells me that I can’t get in with the muscle shirt that I had on! But then he tells me had it said San Antonio Spurs on the front of it, it would be ok! My shirt had a Gold’s Gym logo on it! Where is the freaking logic in this stupid ass rule! He says it’s what the owner says he has to do! I have no issue with the door guy! He’s just doing his job, but I do have an issue with the owner now and this ludicrous rule! It’s a freaking dive bar for crying out loud! I do like the place and I love the Long Island Ice Teas but it might be a minute before I go back!!! #dumbassrule

bf loves it, I like it. LOUDASHELL especially on a Saturday night, but I guess that’s to be expected. huge place but good luck getting a seat! oy. waitresses and bartenders aren’t friendly but the $ 6.50 pitchers of long island iced teas make it all worth it… nice place to walk to after we’ve had a few at Rookie’s. avoid if you’re claustrophobic!

Hijo le, dive bar for real. Sticky tables, floor, seats, restroom, and bartenders. Kicking jukebox, low-end spirits, miscreants, and no parking round it out. Give it a go, but make sure your shots are up to date.

Asked the bartender for toilet paper for the bathroom, and she pretty much ignored me. Otherwise would have ordered more long island ice teas.

The Long Islands are awesome, but other than that, this bar is just meh. Lots of creepy dudes who will harass you and the bouncers don’t do much about it. The first time I went, there was a crazy rush to close out tabs and my friend ended up getting charged over 60 bucks extra because of a «mistake» and this was not the first time it had happened to her here. They told her they voided it out so it shouldn’t show up on her statement, but still. Because of this I started closing out after every round to avoid the long closing wait/wrong charges, but tonight they told me I was only allowed to do two rounds on the credit card if I was closing out after each one and would have to pay cash for any subsequent drinks. WTF? Love the patio and the tea in pitchers but the atmosphere kind of blows, some of the bartenders are really unfriendly, and the ladies’ bathroom is sketch. If you aren’t going to allow people to pay with a credit card independently for each round, fix your billing issues so that customers can feel comfortable leaving a tab open. Asking me to use the ATM with its extra charges was a really un-classy touch. Whiskey’s is fine if you’re paying cash and with a big group of friends to ward off creepers, but this bar has enough issues to make me not really want to come back too often.

Used to be fun, now its gone down hill. The atmosphere turned from cool dive bar to trashy ghetto.

Definitely not wheel chair accessible. Restrooms are to small. Great wait staff and bartenders.

I never had a problem when hanging out at this bar and enjoyed going there. After how rude and an ass wipe the doorman was with his wannabe tough guy BS I’m not going to go there anymore. First Mr. Dreg of Humanity if I’m parked in the wrong spot on accident, approach me respectfully and ask me nicely to move my car to an alternate space. I would’ve moved my car with no prob. Telling me like you’re in a ghetto in Harlem doesn’t cut it. BTW… I’m not your bro, my bros respect me and I reciprocate. You on the other hand need to take a class in manners and etiquette. It’s sad because this place was cool but it’s douche bags like you that put a damper on things.

Came to San Antonio for about almost a week and I’ve already been to this bar twice! Lol and I still have a few more days left. I totally dig this place and I’m not a fan of «dive» bars. Pool tables are alright and the people there are AWESOME! Lol, and it’s a very mixed scene, with mixed music and I haven’t seen any fights, so it’s cool to go and mingle.

For being a dark dive bar there was a lively crowd for happy hour. Whiskeys is a cool little place. The bartenders were quick and friendly. The seating seemed limited but I still managed to grab a table. The waitress kinda ignored me but it’s ok. I don’t mind getting my own drinks. What kept me from giving a better ranking was because like most dive bars it was crazy smokey! Other than that its not a bad place. One definite bright spot was the two dollar wild turkey during happy hour!

Wow — went on a Wednesday this week pretty late and it was pretty packed — and FUN! We were able to find a table though and had a great time. Good crowd, good prices. The only thing keepin’ them down to three stars is that it was very smokey — poor ventilation and the waitress service could have been a bit better — although it was’t terrible.

This is the modern-aged«Cheers». A hangout after work where everyone kinda knows everyone(or gets to know everyone because you can hear the guys on the other side of the room talkin about their wives like you were sitting right next to them). Super tiny/cozy place. There are boardgames and the drinks are decent and pretty cheap. Cool place if you just wanna hang out whenever… not bad but not great… a simple hangout.

I love this bar the best in San Antonio!!! Whiskeys is a hidden bar for locals in San Antonio which probably explains why its crowded at times. And best part is that the drinks are inexpensive!!! If its your first time going you must order the Texas Long Island Tea it is a yummy drink plus just two of those you’ll be feeling good. The waitstaff are always friendly, cute and flirty! And since it is a small bar most of the time you end up meeting new people!
one of my favorite places to celebrate any ocation, try the long island ice tea
