The service was good and everyone was friendly. The food was pretty good. Some of it wasn’t what I expected it to be, but wasn’t bad. For example, I ordered sweet and sour pork, which is a pretty standard dish and you have a very good idea what you’ll get. I’ve never not had a sweet and sour dish where the meat wasn’t tempura fried. Not so here! The chunks of pork were actually pretty large and no tempura! Usually the pork is a little tough, so the smaller pieces make it easier to chew. This was the case here, too, so I wasn’t real happy with the large pieces. It all had a good flavor, hence 4 stars, but wasn’t as expected, hence only 4 stars. Everything else was very good about the place except for it was really kind of dirty and funky inside, so they lost another star there. Ripped upholstery in the booths, dirty, stained carpet and the walls above the tables really need a good scrubbing! Thankfully it’s pretty dark in there, otherwise we might have run screaming if we saw the place in daylight! I would recommend this place for take-out, definitely.

I love wok inn! But usually when you call to place an order, the staff at this location aren’t really friendly. They seem annoyed when their taking your order half the time. But I’ll always get food from wok inn.

We just ordered to go, but the food was delicious and for a good price. We would definitely order from here again.

Love that they deliver(well after 3). Everything always arrives hot if not warm. Really good food & prices! Love their soup.

I absolutely love this wok inn location. I have been enjoying their food for over 15 years. While the décor is a bit dated, the food is amazing. I believe that this is the best kept of all of the wok inns. This wok inn is always consistent with their portions and flavor and they always get my order right(not once have they messed up my specialty order — now that should speak for itself!) My favorite dishes are the kung pao chicken, chicken ginger wontons, pad Thai, and sesame chicken. You cannot beat the value of the lunch specials!

Singapore curry noodles were awesome! Ordered for delivery. Food came in a reasonable time considering it was rush hour and was still hot when it arrived.

Established long, long before its Potranco Rd, Culebra Rd, and 410/Military siblings, this Wok Inn dubbed«The Original» has been serving SA’s Northwest Side since 1986. Oddly enough, the restaurant itself seems grimily stuck in the 80s as its small, steamy restrooms proffer no decent amenities [like ventilation, non-flickering lightbulbs, hand dryers that don’t require half an hour of your time…], its interior remains dark, silent & untouched(according to my mom who last dined here in the 90s), and the extremely dated shopping center it’s housed in has curb appeal akin to the filthy toilet in the men’s restroom, what with an overflowing trash bin squished awkwardly behind it. Food was okay — considering my appetite was still intact after washing my hands in a very rushed manner(i.e. I was genuinely anticipating seeing a roach or two beneath the sink or behind the door) — and brought to table literally within 5 minutes of ordering at the front. Despite decent preparation and presentation, overall taste/quality was mediocre… our dishes for instance, though hot and super fresh, suffered from poor texture ultimately(e.g. spongelike chicken cubes, slightly rubbery beef, chalky rice, etc.). Wok Inn is quite the antithesis of Pei Wei. Or rather this location in particular. Every member of staff on the floor(front counter, register, bus) was a teenager who — at first glance — either looked sadly disconnected from life or showed zero interest in being the slightest bit helpful. To soften that up a bit, they all were amiable upon a nice greeting at least. But I witnessed too many patrons who would’ve benefited even a little from a nice, suggestive«Oh! These are our specialties right here…» or «Yeah… I actually REALLY enjoy the ‘Cantonese Ginger Shrimp’ and sometimes the ‘Hot Bean Szechuan Beef’…» Yep, none of that. Just expect death stares from this Wok Inn’s employees while you hurriedly scurry over the menu, trying not to mind the growing line of customers behind you yet to receive a «Hey guys, welcome to Wok Inn! We’ll be right with you, alright?» To better eats. Rating specifics(i.e. 1 – 5, low-high)… — Overall recommendation = 2.25 — Food taste and quality = 2.25 — Portion size = 4.75 — Price = 4.5 — Atmosphere = 0.5 — General service = 1.25 — Waitstaff = 1.75 — Location = 1.5

I have been to this place many times. It is by the Salvation Army. They have a good lunch special. The food taste very good. If you eat in, it is very old looking. Old furniture, dark lighting, and cheap art. It taste very good though. I ate in numerous times, I don’t care how it looks, I go to eat. The owner hires young kids and allows them to cook. That is nice cause they can become the main cooks at her other restaurants.

Not too shabby! We ordered delivery from the Culebra location. The food was delivered quickly and it was dinner time on a Saturday night. The quality was great. We ordered the lo mien and cashew chicken with crab rangoons. The only part I did not like was that their online ordering system forced me to tip and pay with a credit card before the food arrived. I would have preferred to pay cash and determine the tip upon delivery. However, I will definitely be ordering from here again when I’m too lazy to cook or craving some good Chinese food.

Probably because I’ve been coming here for over 10 years its received 5 stars, however, it’s well deserved. This place serves up great Chinese food that is inexpensive and hits the spot. No fancy interior or catchy themes, just a place to eat on a dime and enjoy your company. Staff is always pleasant and everyday has lunch specials.

I love this place. My boyfriend showed it to me. I thought he was playing when he said it was the best and it tasted different from other wok inns. But now that I’m here I’m obsessed. Monday is our day. Mongolian beef for the win!!! The server that is always here is the sweetest. She always is attentive towards our refills and brings our food as soon as it shows up under the light. You should definitely try it :)

Their egg drop soup is the best! Even better than the Chinese buffets egg drop. It’s a bit sour but that’s what gives it good flavor. Their rangoons are DELICIOUS. I don’t like rice at all but their fried rice is good. Their lemon chicken was tasty. I liked it. Staff was nice and quick since I got there around 11-ish for the lunch specials. Me and my mom literally got our food within 5 minutes of sitting down.

Ordered delivery from these guys yesterday and was very pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed everything. The ordering style is a little different from your typical Chinese restaurant and the menu is somewhat more limited, but the process is very easy and streamlined on the website which I appreciate. We ordered beef with broccoli, sweet and sour pork, combo lo mein, combo fried rice, egg rolls, and crab rangoons. Nothing was overly greasy or salty but the sauces were nice and plentiful and everything was perfectly cooked — all the vegetables were fully cooked but still had a crunch which I find is not often the case with many Chinese places, so kudos to them. All the main dishes come with rice and soup and their egg drop soup and hot and sour were both outstanding — the egg drop in particular was so rich and hearty that I could honestly have a boatload of that alone for dinner and be content. Delivery took about 45 minutes on a Friday night during dinner hours which I thought was perfectly reasonable. Portions are decent for the price so the next time I’m craving Chinese but don’t feel like leaving the house, I’ll get Wok Inn again.

Not a fan of their delivery. Live 5 miles down the street and had been drinking so ordered delivery. Placed that order an hour ago and still waiting… Hopefully food is worth it.

This one is defiantly the best location of the few of them. Always good food and never disappointed on the service. It’s not a hit or miss like the others. Good fresh food, amazing soup bar and a nice atmosphere.

This was my first time ordering from wok Inn. I enjoyed the fact that the food was not cooked with loads of grease. Even though the food did have a heathy taste, it did lack the flavor/taste of traditional«Chinese Food.» If it was for this I would have rated this place 5 stars The delivery service was VERY prompt; from time of order to actually receiving my order I believe was only about 30 mins.

I’ve been coming here for over 20 yrs an the foo is still great BUT this location still looks the same. This location seriously needs a remodel. The benches are so wore out that when you sit down you sink in so be warned.

Don’t eat here for dinner! Overpriced! And food is nasty. I had a beef and broccoli and it had more sauce than been or broccoli. The beef was nasty and were big thin pieces which was undercooked. The sauce tasted like plain soy sauce. The soup bar was dirty and empty. Lastly horrible service. It’s a dine in restaurant but you will find yourself getting everything yourself(forks, napkins, refills etc) for dinner my plate came out to about $ 11 bucks. Beef and broccoli $ 8 fried rice $ 1 extra and $ 1.75 for an egg roll. NEVERAGAIN.
