While located in perhaps one of the most decrepit parts of San Bernardino, there are no comparable competitors in a 20-mile radius(disclaimer: that I know of). Nevertheless, I finally found time to pass through on the way to work at a certain university tucked away in the back corner pocket and belted in by ghetto. The shopping center has a few other establiments to augment the experience. For example, next to the Bratworks is Yogurtland, there’s a passible sushi restaurant, and a Starbucks(how ordinary, right?). I arrived before they opened at 11am, but there was outdoor seating in the shade so didn’t mind the brief wait. Perhaps the most astonishing thing was not being hit up for money in a area notorious for such occurrences. I studied the menu posted in the window, but when the outside music started I knew it was cool to enter. The first customer, both gals working greeted me and answered my questions. I decided that a «prefab» chili dog variation was easier to augment with included toppings than a custom built sort, especially since pretzel bread wasn’t available. The suggested, and fresh brioche turned out to be a good choice. They have beer! Maybe another time, imagine teaching four-hours and coming down early on? Yeah, doesn’t work. Still, I enjoyed the multiple choices from the drink kiosk. I settled on the light version of raspberry lemonade, which hit the spot! The baked beans were also great, almost like the way my mother prepared them growing up. After using the Unilocal check-in special, my bill came to $ 9.05. Not bad at all. The bratwurst itself was decent, neither the greatest nor the wurst ;) the chili tasted good, not too salty, and the cheddar I selected rounded off the perfect lunch. I am definitely returning, maybe not immediately, but the place warrants a tour de menu.

The brats are awesome, the wings are awesome, and the brats bums are so good. Parking is hard to achieve at times cause it’s a busy plaza.

Really good. I love the hotdogs. Especially the pizza dog. I didn’t expect that much flavor from one hot dog. I would always go back to this place. 2 thumbs up

I am a big fan of brat works. That being said here are some things that would help you guys out. First and foremost, HAIRNETS. Second, when grilling the hot dogs, brats, links, 2 minutes on the grill is not enough. If you are giving customers numbers for table service make sure they are cooked all the way. There is a thing called a meat thermometer it is not hard to use. My brat today was pink on the inside. I didn’t complain because my buddy already found a hair in his meal. I love your business model and approach to an already difficult market. Get it together I know you guys are more than capable.

I’ve always seen this place as I’ve driven to school but never got the urge to stop since I’m not a huge hot dog fan. A few days ago I had some time and was hungry so I decided to give this place a try. To begin with the first thing I noticed was that the there was no one eating there which isn’t a good sign when the neighboring places have a lot of people and it is around lunch time. I went in and saw the picture of the chicken avocado bacon dog which looked delicious as in the picture it had slices of avocado on the hot dog. I’m a fan of avocado so I went with that, as I receive my hot dog I see no avocado slices and they tell me that they don’t do it that way anymore now it’s an avocado spread. Bummed out but ok let’s eat it anyways, the avocado spread had no flavor and the hot dog was decent. Wasn’t impressed with the hot dog so most likely won’t be coming back.

This is like a Chipotle/Subway style place but for hot dogs. I’ve tried many of them but seem to like the classic stadium dog the best. The rest are just too much of a good thing. A monthly special might be helpful. Throw in a new recommend creation here and there to keep us interested. Service is usually good except today the employee failed to say hello or ask me if I was ready to order. Literally she just sat there and stared at me until I ordered. Awkward.

Amazing customer service. Friendly, knowledgeable employees. Pretty much like a subway for hotdogs but with quality ingredients. I got the Flamin’ BBQ and added bacon on brioche bread. It was super yummy. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. Sooo good. I opted for the combo with coleslaw and the daytime ale. My boyfriend ordered the Pizza Dog with bacon added(we love bacon), which was pretty much like a meatball sandwich with no meatballs and a sausage instead. He ate the whole thing before I could get halfway through with mine! He really enjoyed his meal. Mmmm. I would recommend this place to a friend and hope they open more locations!

The hot dogs are delicious. I truly have no complaints except that it’s pricy! My bf’s and my total always comes out to being over 20 dollars for 2 hot dogs and 2 sides.

So I used to be a frequent at bratworks but I have to say I can’t speak as highly of it as I once used to. I’m SICK of getting raw fries! This has happened on 5 different occasions. It’s not just one or two but the entire bag. 2 of those times were take out and so was stuck with raw fries. They rush the orders so much that they barely even fry their fries. They’re good fries when cooked right but they rarely are. Wish the employees would see to it that they are THOROUGLY cooking the fries. Now I’m waiting on my fries in the oven while my Dog is getting cold –____–

Got the pulled pork and it was really tasty. But I wasn’t a fan of the flaming bbq brat. It had an excessive amount of sauce and it’s understandingly the main part of that particular dog but it was so much sauce, the bread soaked it up immediately giving me a soggy bun. Despite the soggy bun, I enjoyed it. I would suggest they improve the customer service … Workers don’t seem to be in a good mood … Ever.

This place is nasty, pretty dirty with flies buzzing around everywhere. At least customer service was decent but will never come back again for over price hot dogs in a filthy fast food restaurant.

On my visit, I went with the«B.C.T.»(Bacon, Cheese and Tomato). I chose to top it off with green onions. The frank, by itself, didn’t taste any different to me than what you get out of an eight pack of(quality) wieners at your grocer’s refrigerator. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t bad, but when I hear«beef frank», I expect that BEEF flavor to really shine through. Instead, this frank was more reminiscent of the standard beef, chicken and pork mix variety. There was PLENTY of CHEESE and BACON though, most of which fell off the hot dog each bite. Overall, it was a good hot dog, but nothing I’d brag about. They surround the frank with«New England style fluffy buns», instead of your standard«hot dog» buns. They also grill them up before serving them, giving them that grilled cheese texture(and greasiness). The side of fries were pretty good and I really liked the side of spicy thousand island type dressing they provide with them(they also provide ketchup if that’s more your thing). There is a «fancy» soda machine inside, which allows you to choose a variety of drinks then customize them. I’ll give this place another shot one day, but I think I’ll go with a bratwurst next time to see if this place can live up to its name. Hopefully, they indeed know how to «work» a «brat». If so, I’ll up my rating.

I tried the Bratdog with the pretzel bun. The taste of the food was good. It didn’t really fill me up, but the portions are large. The interior seating area is small, but the interior is clean. The employees are nice and they take time in making the food to make sure your order is ok. I’ll be coming back sometime soon.

Food is good but I had to wait for a long time to get my brat. They had one left(of the specific one I wanted) and the person in front of me got it and I had to wait an extra 8 – 10 minutes. After receiving the brat I noticed that it was also missing two of the items that came with it. It is clean inside of the restaurant but limited seating. I will eat there again, but I will just have to make sure I receive everything I’m supposed to. I have eaten here once before and everything was good as well and I received all included items so I’m sure it was just a minor mistake.

Love this place! Extensive variety, hard to choose so I get two! I was on a job assignment and passed the food truck in the morning. I came back after work and and got the Chili Cheese… It was so good I went back a few more times until my assignment was over. Definitely will go back!

This is pretty much like a Chipotle but in the hot dog/sausage kind of way. I really enjoyed the CA Dog and the Bratworks Dog I believe. The fries were great and service was friendly. The only thing is that the lady took very long to make 3 orders… Maybe she’s new? Other than that, everything is good and of course you get the soda station and that they serve beer! So if I were ever in the area again, I will definitely give it another try. And don’t forget to grab your yogurtland for dessert.

Bratworks is a subway style eatery for hots dogs and sausage near University and the 215, next to Yogurtland. The parking lot was hopping on this Sunday morning, but the staff was there and ready to serve at 11AM, as advertised. It is very casual — they have a patio area with four or five 4-tops and there is seating for about 20 people inside(a long bench on the wall with 2-tops in front and chairs). It is a clean, fun place with a chalkboard type feel and a black-dark wood color scheme. They have two highchairs and a clean restroom(one hole). You can pick a pre-selected sandwich from the menu or build your own brat, which I highly recommend. DH went with the beer brat($ 6.49) in a split top brioche bun with bacon aioli, dark ale mustard(they didn’t have the Cajun mustard, which was a bummer), crispy thin onions, classic kraut, diced tomatoes, dill pickle slices, and crunchy pickle dust. He went for the combo($ 2.49) with fries and a drink. I had the hot link($ 6.49) in a split top brioche bun with Bratworks House sauce and dark ale mustard, red pickled onions, classic kraut, diced tomatoes, dill pickle slices, and crunchy pickle dust. I don’t drink soda, so I ordered the coleslaw a la carte($ 1.99). The LO got a grilled 3-cheese sandwich($ 2.99) with cheddar cheese sauce, white cheddar cheese sauce and grated jack and cheddar. First of all, the awesome. The split top brioche bun is rubbed with butter and toasted until it is crunchy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside. The sausages are flavorful and do not have a crazy processed taste. The toppings are similarly fresh and don’t taste processed. The hot link was delicious(and not too hot). The beef brat is very mild. The kraut was fresh, and the pickled red onions were on point. I loved the Bratworks House Sauce, which is like a spicy thousand island. DH likes the bacon aioli, but I thought it was pretty dull. That’s okay — the dark ale mustard was great. The best topping, however, was the crunchy pickle dust. Fried pickle bits — yes, please! The grilled cheese used the same split top brioche bun with butter and was very goopy — this is real cheese sauce and not electrified cheese product. Very good. The fam loved the fries, and I enjoyed the coleslaw with the sesame dressing. The fries are fresh cut every day. The coleslaw was shredded green cabbage with grated carrots and slivers of red bell pepper in an Asian vinaigrette with a little cilantro(they also have a creamy dressing, but this was my preference). The slaw is dressed to order, so you can get as much(or as little) dressing as you want. So, the not so awesome. DH’s brat was not«hot.» It was tepid. Of course, we were there early in the day, but it was like it had not been in the water long enough. That’s a bummer. The crispy onions were more like the breading that fell off of the onion rings — you couldn’t taste any onion whatsoever. Also, I wish that they were more open to heavy on some toppings, because I would have really liked more pickle dust. SO good. The service was excellent. The gal was very friendly and patient. She even put the sauce on the bottom, per my request! Bonus: 10% off with your first Unilocal check-in. DH loved the soda fountain — Mello Yellow Zero on tap with loads of other beverages(it’s one of the«fun wheel» soda machines). They have lemon water behind the counter for those of us who don’t drink soda. They also have a good beer selection. I really enjoyed it and would definitely comeback. BTW, after reading all of the other reviews, it is important that I tell you that I bought my lunch and didn’t get any free food. This is legit — I have no favors to repay or ax to grind ;)

After reading the reviews and always passing by this place, I just had to try it. I’ve been waiting for a spot like this. It’s kind of like a subway but for sausages and doga. This place is pretty awesome. Average pricing. The fries are bomb. We got the regular fries and the guy working gave us this sauce that was bomb too. Highly recommend this spot. I just wished the drinks were a little bigger, but hey, eat in and it’s unlimited. They have that machine that spits out all kind of drinks!

This was pretty damn bad. I decided to try this truck during the CA Festival of Speed this weekend. Firstly, they’re kinda shady. They had no prices up. It’s a hot dog, how bad can it be? Well, after I was done ordering, 3 dogs were $ 28. Whatever, hopefully it’s good, right? Wrong. They were supposedly«specialty dogs», but honestly, it was nothing special and kinda crappy. The dog they use is a decent size, kinda crappy quality hot dog and it’s steamed. The toppings were so-so. One of the dogs was supposed to be a «hot link» but it wasn’t. It was just a standard hot dog with some sprinkles of chili. Not close to a hot link. Why did I hate this truck so much? They were excruciatingly slow. It took close to 45 minutes to order and then get the food. Totally not worth it.
