The G.I. care seemed adequate which is very important. However, the billing process is improper IMO. I was quoted a price of $ 1150 for a procedure because I had a medical insurance card with a high deductible that had not been met and they wanted the fee paid cash in advance. But after paying and receiving the procedure, they delayed informing the insurance company of my payments to them(so I could get credit towards my deductible). And then instead of showing the true price and verifying that I had paid, they billed the insurance company for nearly 3 times the rate quoted and already paid by me. It’s one thing to have different rates depending on cash or other payment types, but it’s another to bait and switch by quoting a price then changing it after the fact. I wonder if this practice is even legal. I am due a refund(though small because of the changed pricing), but after 6 months and several letters all they can say is to be patient, it will come.
