I have had a dozen different chiropractors over the years for my low back problems and headaches, and Dr. Charonis rates highly among them. I just left another chiropractic office that was the worst (5 minutes of bone-​cracking and you were done, a cattle call assembly line). Dr. Charonis works alone in a small office but spends the time to understand your issues and uses many methods to get your body tuned up and working right. He’s not in a rush to get you out the door and uses heat/​cold packs, e-​stim/​ultrasound, he’s got an awesome massage chair and a 15 minute massage was included with my visit.

I saw Dr. Charonis 3 days ago on Day 5 of a bad migraine. I should have gone sooner! What many doses of ibuprofen, vicodin, imitrex, and maxalt could not alleviate, Dr Charonis cured in 45 minutes. He started with traction and a bit of massage, then did some very gentle adjustments that I’m certain could be heard a block away ;-) After each adjustment he applies pressure to help stabilize the new position. That really helps me. Then stretching, twisting, and more adjustment. Then electrical stimulation on the tough spots while sitting in the amazing comfort-​hugging massage chair. I walked out of there a new person.
I’ve been going to Dr. Charonis for years; so this isn’t the first time he has truly cured me of a miserable headache or backache or neck ache. Here’s what I wrote last year:
«I’ve been going to Dr. Charonis since 2012, so about 3 years. Today was my 3^rd day of a horrible migraine, which wasn’t responding at all to ibuprofen, maxalt, vicodin, sleep, stretching, hydration, … So, I finally dragged myself out of bed and over to Dr. Charonis’ office. They put me on the traction table and then Dr. Charonis did his usual stretching out of my spine, adjustments, massage, stretching, more adjustments, etc. And you know what? My migraine completely disappeared. It was nothing short of a miracle. The pain was so bad, and it just vanished. Now I will give you that not all migraines are related to having your back/​neck out of whack, but I’ve been suffering from migraines for decades and this was very effective AND saved me from my next appointment, which was for a morphine injection at PAMF. I will go more often when I’m in the throws of a migraine. When I don’t have a migraine, Dr Charonis does a great job of releasing my back and neck pain, and I always walk out of there a better, stronger, healthier person.»
And the new office is wonderful, welcoming, and peaceful.

I was a patient of Dr. Charonis at his office in Redwood Shores previously. I called him this morning as my back had seized up and he had me in his office within a few hours.
I had not seen Dr. Charonis in a number of months — only due to dealing with some other health issues. Despite the break in care — he remembered all the areas that had been troublesome in the past and was ready to start working on me right away. He knew how much pressure I could handle and was ready to make me feel better.
LOVE the new office — easy to get to and conveniently located on Laurel Street in San Carlos which is nice and close by to many other places I go to on a regular basis. Office is quiet and Zen life and very relaxing.
Dr. Charonis is very gentle and communicates often to be sure the body work he was doing was not too aggressive. I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia which makes it necessary to adjust degree of pressure if my muscles are flared up.
I came in hunched over, pain at a 7 on a scale from 1 – 10, limping and right leg ½″ shorter than the left. After my visit with Dr. Charonis and his excellent care, I left there with far more spring in my step than I have had in a long time. Along with being an excellent chiropractor, he is also a very nice man and I am so grateful I have him on my health care team!
He also has this Osaki massage chair that I could have sat in forever. With my eyes closed it truly felt like I was getting a massage from a highly skilled masseuse.

My husband has a really bad chronic sciatic pain. Past couple weeks it has been bothering him so much that he couldn’t sleep at night and unable to move much during the day.
So He finally went to see Dr. Charonis today.
The man that left the house to go see his chiropractor was so different from the man who got home hours later. He could finally stand on both legs and didn’t limp.
Although it was a while ago my husband saw him, Dr. Charonis remembered all medical and personal details about him and provided him with great care and treatment.

I began seeing Dr. Charonis about 10 years ago and continue to see him now even though I have moved to San Francisco. And for those of you who live in the Bay Area you know the care must be amazing if I am willing to put up with traffic on 101.
I have been seen for problems with my back, neck, knee and shoulder. I have found Dr. Charonis the best practitioner to care for me even through my 20 years of receiving chiropractic care as an basketball player.
I appreciate his approach which doesn’t only involve the adjustment, but stretching before, and massage therapy after to allow the adjustment to have a more lasting affect. He has seen me through a rotator cuff repair, ACL repair and most recently issues after a car accident.
I am a physician myself and recognize that I am receiving extraordinary care and have since even referred my mom for her neck issues.
If you are looking for Chiropractic care that definitely looks at the whole picture of what might be contributing to your injury here you will receive great chiropractic care followed by great massage therapy.
If I worked closer, I would refer all my patients with chronic pain issues to Dr. Charonis.

I have been to a number of chiropractors and Dr. Charonis was heads and shoulders above the rest! He was so thorough and really took time to get to know me and what had brought me in. I honestly would call it rock star treatment and highly recommend anyone to become a patient. Other chiropractors would adjust me within 5 minutes but my appointment with Dr. Charonis was 45 minutes and I felt great afterwards. Thank you!

Dr. Charonis is an excellent chiropractor. I have always been nervous about treatment from a chiropractor. When I initially saw him his demeanor and confidence immediately put me at ease. I have been a patient of Dr. Charonis for at least 10 years. During my 200 or so visits he has treated me for everything from stress to acute distress caused by repetitive strain and whiplash due to multiple auto accidents. He is the ONLY chiropractor I trust when in acute pain as he makes sure I get the proper diagnostics before proceeding with the best course of treatment. Even though I have been lucky to most recently live close to his practice, for several years I commuted from as far as SF to see him for maintenance treatment. Well worth it. I really like his new cozy office setting… very welcoming and just happens to be right next door to one of my favorite lunch spot (Johnston’s Saltbox). Dr. C has my highest recommendation. I have been a patient of Dr. Charonis’s for over 10 years and I can’t say enough good things about him. I’ve seen other chiropractors in the past who just do a quick «crack, crack» and your done. Dr. Charonis spends time doing soft tissue work and stretching in addition to the actual adjustment. He also looks at health holistically and is knowledgable about other modalities such as massage, acupuncture, diet, etc. Dr. C is very kind and caring as well as professional, which is a great combination. My body feels pampered and put back together after each visit!

I know, this guy doesn’t have a single dissenting review, and that’s hard to believe. Well, Dr. Charonis is just that awesome. Talented, smart, skillful, and truly caring. His ‘bedside manner’ is exceptional.
I’ve been coming to Dr. Charonis for about 3 years due to old injury pain and I feel that he consistently addresses the issues with speed and effective treatment. He’s added e-​stim and massage therapy into my treatment plan, which are things I wouldn’t have considered so much on my own. They really work!
His new location is cozier than his previous office, with less bells and whistles, but I feel that he refined his practice and I’m getting the best treatments he has to offer. I always leave feeling good.

I have been going to Dr. Charonis to treat chronic neck/​back pain for years, and I just felt I needed to share my experiences with the Unilocal community.
Dr Charonis has done an amazing job of getting my health back to a point where I feel like I am myself again. The chronic neck/​back pain is gone thanks to the wonderful treatment that I have received.
In fact, unless my back starts acting up because of a long car trip or airplane ride or I do something dumb like trying to catch 50lb sacks of clothes dropped from a second floor of an apartment building helping a friend move, my visits to the chiropractor have been less frequent over the past few months. I guess that’s the interesting part of the chiropractor business, they get you well, and then you don’t see them anymore, which is kind of sad because I really like seeing him.
The Charonis Chiropractor Group is located in a great part of San Carlos. The new office itself is smaller than their previous location, but the quality of care is still the best. Dr Charonis is professional in every way.
When my back does hurt, I can usually get an appointment on short notice and I love the option of sitting in the massage chair after my treatment with Dr. Charonis is complete. The only embarrassing thing is that I tend to fall asleep in that chair and I’ve been known to snore loudly sometimes! They have to expect that however when they make you feel so good after a treatment, and that chair is oh so relaxing.
I highly recommend Dr. Charonis as a chiropractor and practitioner of wellness and health!!!

I love this chiropractic clinic! I’ve been going to another chiropractor for a while but was looking to relocate to someone closer. I’ve heard so many great things about Dr. Charonis from my friends in the area that I decided to give him a shot. Lucky for me I found out he recently moved his office even closer to me in San Carlos (he used to be in Redwood Shores)! He now has a cozy and beautifully designed clinic located on the south end of Laurel street right next to Johnston’s Saltbox (shout out to one of my favorite restaurants too).
I can’t say enough about how much he has helped me already. I recently had a baby and my back has been killing me, especially with all the heavy car seat lifting. His adjustments have made all the difference. He incorporates several sophisticated treatments and devices into the visit. I always feel immediate relief. He also walks me through the process and lets me know what is coming next to put me right at ease (while I’ve been to a chiropractor before I“m still always a nervous nelly with any doctor!) with his gentle and personable demeanor.
I’m a new person after leaving the clinic. I’m so happy to have tried this chiropractic clinic and I look forward to each opportunity when I am able to see him for follow up care. I have had the occasion to use Charonis Chiropractic services during the past several years. Dr. Charonis actually takes the time himself, listens to your medical issues and outlines your treatment plan for you.
Ever time I have had service, Dr. Charonis was on time which tells me he respects his patients time as well.

I’ve been going to Dr. Charonis for the past 2 years and its been such a blessing to find him. He has shown extreme patience and genuine care for the pain that I was going through in my back, neck and knee. His therapeutic style and combination of stimulation and massage gives for an exceptional treatment experience. I highly recommend his services and he’s very accommodating in making appointments last minute. Also, his assistant, Grace is a great person to have in the office and an asset to his team. This review is way overdue. Angelo Charonis is a very experienced chiropractor! I’ve been seeing him as my chiropractor for over 10 years. Whenever my neck or hips act up Dr Charonis gets me back in shape. He knows what to do and explains it really well. He’s not just a chiropractor, he is a really ethical, genuine, caring and gentle person. He uses this approach on me that doesn’t require abrupt manipulations and that works well for me. He also has some very interesting machines that help facilitate healing. I appreciate the new location as it cuts down on my time to get there (and I get to eat at Saltbox next door) He used to be in Redwood Shores and getting there took longer. The new office has soothing colors and is sweet and quaint :-) Highly recommend!

Angelo is the man! He is so nice, has a tremendous amount of knowledge and modern equipment that cured my tennis elbow! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

A few years ago I experienced a bad wipe out wakeboarding on lake Berryessa (in Napa). I compressed a couple of disks and cracked a vertebrae. My 1^st stop was a back specialist in Stanford who, after seeing me for 1 hour and without any MRI or x-​ray declared that surgery and fusion would be necessary. I went to seek the opinions of other specialist and ended up trying the office of Dr. Charonis as I live not far from his practice. At that time, i could not sleep more than 2 hours a night and was in constant pain. Dr. Charonis was able to get me back in shape in about 1 month of intensive therapy. Each session includes manipulation than deep tissue massage by a professional massage therapist. Although the 1^st few session were painful, the pain decreased by 90%+ over the period. I now see Dr. Charonis every other month for a quick «maintenance» session. I highly recommend him.

Ok, I used to be an employee here, and was also a patient for my migraines. I must say this office is very chill, but professional. Both Dr. Dave and Dr. Charonis, as well as Steve are very nice and caring! Appointments are always on time, so theres no long waiting periods like at other offices. They are all very personable, remembers each patient, not just glancing at your chart trying to remember who you are. :)

I have been going to Premier Chiropractic Clinic for several years due to some chronic back/​neck issues, and more recently for added support after a car accident. Premier is a beautiful, professional office space, and the staff here is incredible. Prior to moving to the Bay Area I had been to about five different Chiropractors over the years, and I can easily say that Dr. Angelo Charonis is BY FAR the best I have ever been to.
For starters, Dr. Charonis is one of the most kind and compassionate people I have ever met. He truly cares about his patients, going WAY above and beyond to look out for their well-​being. I’ve got two hurniated discs and my T7 is ruptured… When I first started going to see Dr. Charonis I was struggling to get out of bed and function on a normal daily basis. My first visits started several years ago, adjustments along with the massage therapy started doing wonders. I was a skeptic of the whole chiropractor thing at first, but Dr. Charonis’ patience, ability to explain why and what he was doing made me feel at ease.
Now, I see him for occasional check ups… But am proud to say I feel great! I run ~15 miles per week, work out, and lead a normal healthy life style that I thought I wouldn’t be able to attain!
