Peninsula Gymnastics

My 7 year old is in her second month of beginning gymnastics and so far, we are both happy. Yes, it is a somewhat small facility, but they make good use of the stations/​time on the clock. It is a fair price for a 55 minute class, and my daughter has a wonderful instructor (Javier — really nice to have a guy in the gym teaching too). He is gentle, fair, and motivates the kids. I’ve also chatted with him about particular needs/​issues around a recent arm fracture a year back, and he was attentive and accommodating. The teachers all seem dedicated, too. There are clean bathrooms for parents/​kids, a small parent viewing area, and nice leotards (pricey) for sale at the desk. Except for the «gym smell» (kind of more wet dog at times) as you walk in, it’s all good for us so far.

I never took gymnastics myself, so I’m not an expert. My niece is a student here, she seems happy and is excited to go to class. She shows off the cute moves she has learned and has inspired her little sister to copy her as well. I’m impressed at her form and the growth of her upper body strength. The last time I brought her, she landed wrong — not the gym’s fault — but I wanted to point out how attentive they were, super caring and even brought over an ice pack for her.

We had a great B-​day party for my 3 y old boy last month at the San carlos location.
Teacher Illana and teacher Sally were super fun and gave different variety of activities for the different age groups at my boys party (2y-​7y). Since both my kids been going to this location weekly for gymnastic classes, they knew the teachers and location well.
The place was clean, very specious and a very nice music was playing at the background, not too loud. I loved that there was enough time to just run around without instructions, the kids just had a blast.
There was no restriction on what food I am allowed to bring (besides the fact that drinks should be in individual containers) and it didnt feel crowded and cramped as there was plenty of space along the table. The price is actually better then other gym style locations in the area that I have used in the past.
