The service and food was great. Their attention to detail is spot on. The polenta appetizer is great.

Came here the other night and it was a real mixed bag. I ordered the Italian Sausage Orecchiette. I am not big on presentation, but it came out looking very«blah» with a big clump of broccoli rabe in the middle. I was not very excited to dig in and and I did, to a big dish of disappointment. The pasta was just so-so, the sausage was just okay, and everything did not come together well. I only ate half of it. My wife decided to eat light and she ordered the bruschetta, brussels sprouts, and spinach. While I liked the bruschetta she found the bread not crunchy enough for her liking(hey, everyone likes things a certain way!). The spinach was very good and the brussels sprouts were okay. The waitress was nice enough, but a little stressed – it was not that full but they were light on people. I don’t think this is good enough for a repeat performance.

Dropped in for lunch on Saturday and had Bruscetta and Buratta Cheese w Tomato. Both items were excellent and I will definitely be back to try some other appetizers and meals!

I ate at Pranzi’s last week on my night off and I was impressed. I had the Fried Calamari and it was soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. It was served with a remoulade that was very flavorful. Then, I had the Skirt Steak which was very tender and juicy and served with a bell pepper sauce with sauteed eggplant. I don’t like eggplant, but this was superb. Lastly, I had his signature Tiramisu. It was excellent. Gokhan, the owner has done a wonderful job with his menu and establishment. I wish him the best. He deserves it. I used to be his boss.

First time. Probably won’t go back there. 45 minute wait to get our food order. Nice people, but I’m not up for waiting that long to have my order taken. Sorry…

We went last night for our first time. The service wasn’t great. We weren’t asked if we wanted ground pepper or parmesan cheese on our pasta. We weren’t asked how our meals were. But our water glasses were refilled regularly. We had drinks, an appetizer, entrees, wine, and dessert. All very good. So, we’ll be back and hope it’s better next time.

Oh My Gosh! What a find! The atmosphere is trendy. Excellent service! «G» is so polite and knowledgeable. The food is DeeLish! My husband and I shared the beet salad(yummy and they spilt it for us without us asking). I had the squid ink spaghetti with sea food! Fabulous! My husband had the Penne Chicken and it was full of flavor! We can’t wait to go back! On a side note. We were with another couple who loved it too! We were never rushed and were given a complimentary dessert! I must say… We were all very impressed and this will be my new«go to place» for dinner in San Carlos!

Had the skirt steak. Very well prepared and presented. The staff were friendly and accomodating. I came during«Opera Night» and the singers were very entertaining. Overall I would recommend this restaurant.

Came here on a Friday with my aunt for dinner and food was incredible. We shared the mussels and clams as an appetizer-so yummy! I don’t know what it is called, but the sauce for mussels and clams had what looked like tiny pasta balls in it and it gave the dish a very unique/delicious texture. It came with toasted bread that I used to soak up all that leftover sauce. We also shared the baked burrata that was also very good, not too heavy, light on flavor. My main dish was the scallops and prosciutto… wow. This was one of the most delicious scallops I have ever tasted. The prosciutto was perfectly crisped around the scallops, and the combination of the sauce and veggies made this dish incredible. Overall, 5 stars for the food, cleanliness, ambiance and service… owner and waitstaff are super friendly too. Will come back again to try other dishes.

Amazing appetizers! Five of us came in on a busy Friday night and got seated right away thanks to one of the girls who knows the owner. The waiter surprised us with the following appetizers: –rustic bruschetta: one of the best I’ve had with fresh burrata, cherry tomatoes, basil and balsamic reduction served on toasted ciabatta. So good! –baked burrata mozzarella cheese: goey melted cheese with whole roasted garlic and Calabria olives served with mix of home baked bread. My favorite and a must try! –polenta spinach cakes: more mozzarella, mixed herbs, white truffle oil with wild mushrooms & Parmesan crisp. A very tasty app as well! –butternut squash gnocchi: creamy cheesy white sauce was very delicious! Entrees: –grilled rack of lamb: I don’t usually order lamb due to the«lamby» smell. But it was the only thing that caught my attention. the lamb was cooked perfectly to my liking(medium well). The rack of lamb was served with creamy polenta, almond red bell pepper sauce and brussel sprouts. Beautiful plates dish! The others ordered grilled skirt steak, seafood risotto which she said was really good and flavorful, petit filet– was cooked at medium perfectly, and penne pasta dish also cooked to perfection. We all shared a great Bottle of cab(forgot the name unfortunately). Overall, our first experience was great and will definitely return to try more!

I had a great experience here on a Tuesday night. I shared the apple salad that is delicious. It has fennel, spinach, hazelnuts, and gorgonzola(which you can ask for on the side). I tried two entrees: the skirt steak and scallops. Both were excellent. The portions are perfect too. For dessert we shared the puff pastry. Very good. I’m definitely going back.

A new player on Laurel Street that serves superb Italian Food. The accent is on Homemade… Sustainable…and Fresh. It’s reflected in the taste of the food. My Fav is the HOMEMADETAGLIATELLE with mushrooms is a Killer Dish that will have you coming back. The Oven Baked Salmon is a cut above the usual salmon offerings and all the appetizers have a slightly different twist that will delight and surprise. Excellent value wine list. The Staff really wants to make your night. A New Star shines bright in San Carlos.

This place is certainly not as good as La Tosca, the former restaurant at this location. We went here for lunch and ordered off the lunch menu. Bruschetta good but was overpriced for three pieces of small toast. Melted mozzarella was also over priced and came with four pieces of small toast. $ 20 Caesar salad with 6 – 8 prawns was good, but not great. Salad was delivered to person in our party 10 – 15 minutes before other people received their cooked food. Panini’s ordered were 80% bread and 20% filling. Plus, it was more like a sandwich than a panini since it did not appear to be pressed like a panini should be. Ordered a hot chocolate for a dessert drink, which may have been served in the smallest hot chocolate cup in the world. The drink itself resembled dish water, and had possibly a drop or two of chocolate in it. Restaurant was also very loud.

Flavorless food and bad service! I’ll start with the service– when our food arrived, we asked for water as a few of us had completely empty glasses. We watched our server say«ok» and then go greet his friends that walked in, take another table’s order, and do a number of other tasks but forget about us! We asked 2 other people, but no one brought water for 20 minutes! No one in my party of 5 was happy. Some of the food was ok, but mostly it was just tasteless and we were all adding salt just to make it edible(and I normally NEVER salt anything). The salmon was so tasteless and inedible that someone in the group sent it back. For the appetizer we ordered polenta spinach cakes, and this was probably the best thing. I had the tagliatelle and it was flavorless. After much salting it was edible. The interior looks nice and the restaurant was surprisingly full, but I wouldn’t recommend eating here, especially with so many other Italian options nearby.

Food was good enough, but does downtown San Carlos really need EIGHT Italian restaurants? And I’m not even counting any of the pizza places. Why can’t restauranteurs around here have a little bit more creativity? As for creativity, the menu is arguably overly creative. There should be some simpler dishes on the menu. Pastas do not need to have 10 – 15 ingredients. Good: Lamb was delicious, fantastic ambiance, attentive service from manager, food came quickly. Needs work: Server knew nothing about the wine list, pretty sure the«fresh» pasta wasn’t actually fresh, nobody brought cheese for the pasta, no kids menu — INSANCARLOS. Normally I’d probably give someplace like this 4 stars, but it’s essentially indistinguishable from Gusto, Spasso, Pazzo, Locando Positano, 888 Ristorante Italiano, Delizie, etc.

We had diner 2 times already. Excellent service, very friendly staff. Food. I had the calamary dish, my wife had the scallops, she ordered polenta with it on the side. I only can say this. Well designed menu, excellent flavors, real italian feeling. Speed, quality of cooking will lunch this place to the high level of gourmet experience in San Carlos. Wine. Excellent white and red selection, modestly priced. We had an Italian chianti, it was incredible good wine. Desserts. Stick to the italian traditions, tiramisu, napoleon are our favorites. Levender cream brûlée also excellent. Wish them best of luck and well deserved success.

This restaurant has only been open for a couple of weeks but it’s a promising addition to downtown San Carlos. Hopefully the food will be improved as time goes on. We ordered: Baked Burrata(3 of 4 stars): gooey melted cheese studded with garlic cloves, olives and red peppers, served with toasted focaccia. While crowd pleasing, it seemed a bit of a bastardization of good Burrata. House made tagliatelle with mushrooms(3 of 4 stars): Really suffered from underseasoning, would be great with more salt. Slightly over cooked pasta but generous amount of mushrooms, would be a standout dish with the right seasoning. Lamb chops with Brussels sprouts and polenta(2 of 4 stars): Also underseasoned, plus overcooked and dry. Service was friendly but a bit rough: for example, even when told we were sharing all the dishes, our waitress only brought out one spoon and one knife to share between the two of us. Overall Pranzi deserves 3.5 stars but rounding up since it just opened.

I gotta say I’m impressed! The food here is delicious. I am used to eating out in the city and am very particular about good tasting food. The butternut squash gnocchi uhhhh mazing! Then had the homemade pasta(I forget which one) but it was so good, rich tasting, yet light. Definitely worth coming to!

My new favorite Italian restaurant on the Peninsula! My boyfriend and I biked pass the restaurant before it was open and decided to come back for dinner! The food was superb. We had the calamari and burrata as appetizers… both were spectacular and oh so delicious! As for the entrée, we had the skirt steak(so juicy and tender) and their homemade tagliatelle pasta. This was the best Italian dish I’ve ever had! Cooked to perfection with truffle mushrooms. Our server was super kind and smiley. The owner was also a very sweet and seemed like genuine guy who came and chatted with us and then gave us a complimentary dessert! Loved every aspect! If I could give six stars… I definitely would!
