I love going to the Rainbow Factory. The parking situation can be a bit of an issue at times. The inside of the store is beachy like and definitely has a San Clemente feel to it. There are several colors and styles to choose from.

Update your«winter hours» Rainbow Sandals. Went out of my way en route back to San Diego to stop here and do a bunch of Christmas shopping. Arrived at 4:33, according to Unilocal(which you as a business claimed) you close at 5pm. Door was locked up so we knocked on it and they said«we closed at 4:30». I said«it says online you close at 5.» The owner I assume(old guy with white hair) opened the door and said«id let you in but we just closed the register«. I again pointed out it said online you close at 5. He said«you should probably check the right website. You probably checked Unilocal and it says 5.» I said yeah I did, you should probably update it since millions of people use it. I then told the guy«don’t think I’ll be coming back here since you’re such as asshole.» He said«what did you call me?» I repeated myself and he started coming at my boyfriend after he said to not talk that way to a lady. F you Rainbow Sandles. We WERE big fans but not anymore. Not supporting some jackass who treats paying customers like that. Real great way to handle a customer suggesting you update your hours so I could spend money here. Never again.

Tiny parking lot but street parking is easy. Flip flops are on sale but have a sharp eye as there are some with defects. 42 for single layer and 45 for double layer, tax included! Great deals as I can never find rainbows on sale. They take credit cards such as Amex, visa, and master card.

As any Californian/Honorary Californian(those of you who went to/attending college in Cali) know, a pair of Rainbow sandals is a MUST. And I always buy my Rainbows here!!! OVERALL Here’s the lowdown: the double layer sandals are gonna be the most comfortable sandals you’ve ever worn! Wear them, break them in, and they will mold to your feet! My bf and I both have high arches, and our double layer leather Rainbow sandals are UHMAZINGG!!! CUSTOMSHAPING In between sizes and so one size up gets you an awkard crescent circle bit behind the heels of your feet? NOPROBLEM. The staff at this store can help«sand» it down and shape it custom for your feet! No other store I know of offers this service! It’s a $ 5 charge. They recommend that you break them in first, loosening up the straps, etc. before getting it done. You can also utilize the floor samples they have to try on the diff sizes to see what they would feel like worn in as well to better gauge your size. PRICING Prices are all including tax & on average, the sandals are about $ 10-$ 15 off of MSRP from what I’ve seen, aside from crazy specials where you can get rainbow sandals in thin/thick straps for like $ 30! See my pics for details! SELECTION The selection here is literally everything they make. No joke, from bling clips to add to your sandals, to mini Rainbow sandal keychains to child/women/men Rainbow boots, shoes, and sandals. There’s even $ 80 Swarovski Rainbow sandals if that’s your thing(none in double layer though). This store’s got it all! There’s even a GIGANTIC Rainbow sandal on display which is so awesome. RECYCLEANOLDPAIR Bring in an old pair, toss it in the bin, and get a discount on a new pair! Sweet! WATER/POPCORN Complimentary popcorn, water, and Rainbow sandal stickers! There’s also free candy for kids too.

Yay! Finally got to go to this place this past Saturday. My BF always talked about this store and kept insisting on how I should invest in some rainbow flip flops/sandals because of how comfy they are. Yes, I listened and I ended up getting two pairs! I wore one pair the other day and they truly are comfy and you don’t have to break into them. :) This store is so cute from the way the store looks in the outside and the giant rainbow flip flops everywhere in the store. I’ll be coming back here for comfy and affordable flip flops in the future!

So many Rainbows! Best prices and selection you can find anywhere! Gotta give props to the Hawaiian decore… now just turn on some Bob Marley and you are good to go! Free popcorn and cold water as you enter was a nice touch. Yes it was crowded but not horrific and when we went everyone was in a good mood(guess Rainbows bring out the best in people). Plenty of comfy seating for those of us who need to try on a dozen pairs just to realize the first pair they tried on was the best :-) Would definitely come back if I wanted to gift someone some Rainbows since the pair I bought is supposed to last a long while(or so I hear). I ended up getting the double padding. It wasn’t any more expensive and a tad more comfy. I also recommend the leather material, which is what I ended up with!

Living in Southern California, having a good pair of sandals is almost as essential as having a good car. You want one that works, is in your favorite color, lasts years and is comfortable. Rainbow Sandals fit all of those qualities. I feel like people here have their favorites… you either like Rainbows, Reefs, Birkenstocks, Adidas Adilettes, Havianas, or whatever is cheapest or is on sale. I know whenever I say to a friend, «Oh, you’re wearing Rainbows…» They always reply, «I love, love my Rainbows, I have had these for years…» Prices here for standard single layer and double layer(with arch) sandals are about 20% discounted from retail. In my book that’s not a huge discount, but considering that Rainbow Sandals never get knocked down 30% or 40% or 50% in any store, 20% is a good deal. If you’re going to get a few pairs, get them here. The factory store has more colors and styles in stock than you will find at any retailer. One catch is that they may not have all the colors you want the day you go. Come back a couple of days later and your color might be back in. I noticed this when looking at the blue leather sandals. Some sizes had them, others didn’t. Basic brown, black and tan? Those are always available in all sizes. Leather single layers are $ 42. Leather dual layers are $ 45. There are lots more women’s’ designs than men’s. Women can choose from different braids, 3x as many colors, sparkly ones, platform ones, skinny strap vs. fat strap while men get to choose form foam/rubber sandals, leather sandals, and slip on shoes. Before it used to be touted that every pair was made in the USA, in San Clemente. That stopped about five or six years ago when they shifted production to China. They still do repairs in San Clemente, but they no longer make them in San Clemente. I just got my first pair of leather China Rainbows. It looks like they did a good job on quality control because they look and feel the same when I put them next to the Made in the USA ones… I guess time will tell. Rainbows are on the higher side of the sandals price spectrum and have diehard devotees due to their durability and comfort. If you are trying them on for the first time, you will not find them comfortable. They are stiff, hard, and the straps are so tight that you can barely get your foot under them. Everyone will tell you that that is the pair you want to buy. All this quality and still you might not like them after you buy them. They are a b*tch to break in. For you to get blisters or rub cuts during the first few weeks from the tight straps are part of the process. Yes, you paid to get tortured. 9 ½ Weeks… it’s not a movie, it’s the guaranteed amount of time until break in. You actually want tight straps because with wear, they all loosen up. The leather and foam start to conform to your feet while maintaining firmness. Once broken in, the sandal will still feel very solid and secure, but should also feel very comfortable. Then you will wear them for years. And you’ll like it… because I said so! For Rainbow fans coming to this store, you will feel as if you are in Heaven. You aren’t in Heaven, you’ve just reached the end of the rainbow and that’s where the treasure’s at! ***Tip #1 — If you are only buying one pair and you can find it online or at a store near you for retail price, it’s not worth the time and the drive to save $ 10. You get your best value if you are buying more than one pair.*** ***Tip #2 — Check the stitching under the straps. One of my straps kept on wearing down my skin even after a couple of months. I kept on thinking it was the leather strap that just needed a little more wear when in actuality it was a bad/rough stitch bump under the leather strap that was causing the problem. The thread was bumpy and had a knot that was rubbing me raw.*** ***Tip #3 — For each old pair of Rainbows that you donate back, they will knock $ 10 off the purchase of another pair.***

We made our 3rd attempt today to make an exchange. Greeted by the rude thug door man, we began to tell our story. The first time we tried was just after Christmas and the store was closed for 2 weeks. Not posted on the website and wasn’t on the«winter store» hours message. I left a message with customer service. Needed to see if I would still be able to exchange after the 30 days. No return call. Second attempt was made and(after much traffic from Yorba Linda) we arrive at 3:05 and were turned away, even when employees were still in the store. Left another message, no return call. So when I told the thug my story he said to me «so why don’t you come by when we are open?.» Then he asked if I was going to put a message on Unilocal.Wasn’t originally, but great idea! Poor customer service, rude greeting, not a good experience at all Rainbow.
