4240

This is my favorite hotel to stay at when travelling for business. 4240 wasn’t my first choice with regards to restaurants to dine at when visiting San Diego, but its location in the hotel made it worth trying.
The décor is beautiful. My server was very friendly. However, my food was NOT worth the wait or the price.
I had the salmon with potatoes and vegetables-​yuck. It took forever for me to receive my food, and upon receipt of my food, I wished I would have avoided dinner altogether. My salmon was dry, unflavorful and simply unpleasant. My sides-​blah! I would never order that meal AGAIN and I am tempted to never try a hotel restaurant ever again. Ehh…
On the other hand, my co worker had a dressed up chicken meal that she LOVED-​go figure… next time, if there is a next time, I suppose I should go for the dressed up chicken.

we were staying here for a weekend and a storm inspired us to stay in the hotel for dinner. I enjoyed my crab salad and the service was very nice too.

Went there for an important business lunch. 4 words: COCKROACH IN MY LEMONADE. And I drank some of it already before I saw it in there! Note that for the rest of our lunch, my lunch partner and I had to examine every bite of salad to make sure there were no bugs in it. NOT enjoyable. The server was very apologetic, which was nice. Their exuse was ‘we just fumigated and it must’ve gotten into the hose that feeds the lemonade’. GROSS.
I was trying to get over the horror of a COCKROACH IN MY LEMONADE, but every time I would tell a friend and try to laugh about it, my friends were terrified. SO, I wrote a letter to the manager a few weeks after the event and never heard back. Isn’t this like a super bad health hazard? Note to management (Thad, that is you): address your clients’ letters! I took the time to express my dismay… even if it’s with a written response and nothing more, do something! A written apology would’ve been nice!

This great restaurant it is located at the Marriott in La Jolla.
Very good food and exellent service. Lisa was my waitress, very nice! The manager was always on the floor helping the server!
Please add some candle lights and dim the lights a bit for better atmosphere. same with the loby BAR. Just a little twist!
The NuJazz music it is just perfect!!!
