I came here on a Saturday morning after being disappointed at the donut bar. It is just right around the corner which was very convenient. The restaurant is very small but it was very busy when we walked it. There are menus to look at up at the front and whenever you are ready you can tell the cashier your order And then find a seat. We ordered the dank and the chorizo con tots. The cashier said those were two of the best items. We found a table for 2 inside but there are a couple of tables outside if you prefer that. The food took a little long to come out because of multiple big parties. It did not disappointed. The dank was a little sweet and took me off gourd at first. It is still delicious. The chorizo con tots was delicious! It tasted great and the burrito didn’t fall apart which is awesome for me. They also have valentina hot sauce there which most places don’t have! Overall my experience was great and I would definately go back here!

An unexpected surprise while on vacation. Uniquely combined fresh flavors served by a friendly family atmosphere. Their aoli sauce was out of this world! Whether you want breakfast or lunch, you want be disappointed.

I could gush and rave about my meal but I will keep it short and sweet… Yeah right. Came in the day after running a marathon so «hungry» was to me like«breeze» is to tornado. I was in the mood to seek and destroy anything edible in my path with unparalleled fury. Saw it had good reviews on Unilocal, and good word from a few locals cinched it for me. I chose the Denver omelette, with extra bacon and a coffee. Honestly I was expecting something«less greasy» greasy spoon in quality, nothing special, but good enough. What I got was: THEBESTOMELETTE I HAVEHAD, ANYWHERE, EVER. Think about that kids, 5 continents of travel, Michelin starred restaurants, and«food» destination cities have hosted my appetite over the last few decades. And this tiny little place delivered quality and quantity that was quite frankly, perfect. Diced peppers that still had some texture, grilled onions, melty cheese all wrapped in a blanket of fluffy eggs. Topped with a generous portion of sliced ham. Now I’ll make it a point to note that this dish is simple. There’s no truffle this or fois-gras that or Blackfoot ham. It’s regular American ingredients, but put together so well and with such skill that it holds its own against all those other ingredient-laden omelettes I’ve had. The tater tots on the side were such a nice addition and go perfect with the cheese in this omelette.(Cheese tots anyone? Yeah you want cheese tots) Bottom line/TLDR: Best omelette ever Good price Definitely would return Someone call the Michelin people about this place.

Great little breakfast. The coffee was excellent and service was genuine. We had The Benny and Sweet Croissant breakfast sandwiches with delish fruit on the side. While both outstanding the croissant with the honey aioli The breakfast salsa on tater tots was a good addition to breakfast. The salsa was very good. Definitely recommend.

I have enjoyed the pressed mama wrap, dank sandwich, and ahi tuna sandwich for years now. There is consistency in their preparation and delivery. Love the americanos!

Great service, great food, delivered quickly. I ordered a vegetarian omelette and the flavor was outstanding, the veggies tasted fresh as did the eggs. Also, the tater tots on the side were some of the best tasting I’ve ever had, hands down. I’ll definitely be returning when I’m downtown again.

Pros– no wait, friendly staff, good service. Attentive. Orange juice was lovely. Vegetarian review: Cons– Chilaquiles weren’t impressive. Nor was the red velvet muffin. Just know that you’re getting a lighter, less dense muffin. Flavor wasn’t very strong, and there wasn’t anything special about it. If you like light & fluffy with very little topping, you might like it. Back to the chilaquiles– slightly spiced red sauce, freshly fries chips. No bad, but nothing impressive. Underwhelming. Most chilaquiles are about the sauce and the toppings as a pair, but this one didn’t do much for the palate. The chips might’ve been the best part. And the egg(they ask you how you want it cooked, which was nice. It belongs in the ‘pro’s section…’

Back again to my favorite breakfast place. I came here in October with my friends from the UK and we ate here every morning. The is a family owned and operated business and they really make you feel at home. Food is so fresh and delicious. Wish they would move to Vegas

Took my brother here for breakfast this morning. This place had amazing reviews so I had to give it a try. Pros: the iced coffee was good & the customer service was even better. The last working at the front was around 40 and she couldn’t be any nicer. Cons: my bagel wasn’t good at all, I got a bagel with lox & cream cheese, this didn’t have much flavor. My brother got French toast, he said it lacked flavor. I had a slice of his French toast and I agreed. We both agreed that there was room for improvement and we will have to pass on coming here again.

This place was our pick for a quick breakfast right down the way from our hotel. We thought it was ok. There coffee might have been the best we had our entire trip, it was super flavorful, and we could really taste the Vanilla and Hazelnut in the different types. The café style service was ok. It was kind of like they took your order, brought it out and then you were on your own. We were never asked if we needed anything else or how anything was, but that’s fine. I ordered one of the Wraps, while i really enjoyed the sharp cheddar, I felt like i expected a little more of the good stuff an a little less tortilla. As a whole everything was great and we didn’t have to wait for Sunday breakfast.

Tried coming here yesterday, they said there was an accident on the freeway so they were behind and I didn’t have time to wait. No problem, I tried again today it’s 25 mins past opening and they said another 10 minutes. Get yourself together or push your opening time back! Okay so an update to my earlier post. As I was tracking down another place to go they opened and I stayed for a delicious breakfast. I started with a fruit tart and coffee and then ordered the beef chorizo wrap stuffed with tater tots and avocado. It was worth the wait! The outside was nice and crisply and the Inside was filled with deliciousness and had a nice salsa to put on top. I would recommend this place but you probably want to wait until at least 730 to show up.

What a beautiful awesome café located in the Downtown area! I am so happy I stopped in with my friend and had such a pleaseant experience here! Walking around Downtown SD can get pretty tiring and on a warm day, a person can get tired pretty fast walking and exploring. My friend and I stopped in yesterday and had a nice little snack. While we were in, we spoke with the owner, Didi, and what a joy she was! She was so nice and amazing. We talked about all the different things that their store location has to offer. I wished we had picked up a muffin! Those red velvet muffins looked so delicious! This just means that I have to come back down and visit again! Thank you so much to both Didi and Chef for such a great and awesome expereince while I was in your store!

Such a great local spot. Service is great, potions are good, and it’s reasonably priced. I’ve been twice & overall had a good experience. The first time, the food took a little longer than we expected since it wasn’t busy. However, the 2nd time it was busy & we came with a group but the food was quick. I prefer the wraps because they are a good portion. My friends tried the dank, the chorizo burrito, & bene sandwich. Everyone liked their food. The fries are great but they serve tots for breakfast potatoes which is a little different.

When I went in, there was nobody else in line to order, and I started by explaining I had a pretty limited diet. I am not picky by nature, but was dealing with a health issue and wanted to avoid feeling worse. I explained all of that. Naturally I asked some questions regarding preparation and ingredients and I was treated as though I was being super picky– and keeping them(they close at 2 p.m.) and when I got my branini(great concept, and great combination of flavors!) it was super greasy. It tasted great, but I was not able to eat it for fear of feeling worse– and they had literally closed the door behind me so I didn’t have a chance to see if they would make it right. I didn’t have a great experience and won’t be going back. That said, I’ve only been the once and it could have been a fluke– it seems like it has great reviews and everyone has a bad day occasionally. Hope you enjoy it if you go!

Adorable breakfast spot! There’s a cute nook by the window that looks like the perfect spot to people watch while you fill up in the morning. $ 5 will get you a hefty breakfast sandwich on an English muffin served with a side of fruit or you could opt for what I got which was Bagel and lox. Tasty! Service was quick and friendly, ambience sweet and welcoming. I was in a hurry so I got my food to go, but will elaborate with a longer review the next time I’m here to sample more menu items. Thanks for the quick and yummy breakfast 7 Café!

Friendly little café in downtown San Diego. I can’t say there is anything negative to say about this place. I had the veggie omelette which was a pretty good portion for a reasonable price. It comes with potatoes and buttered toast. I also had the Colombian coffee that was pretty good as well. The service was good and my food came out quickly. If you’re in the area, I would stop by.

Date of visit: 9÷19÷2015 Cam and I went downtown to pick up my race packet for TriRock San Diego, but neglected to eat breakfast, so we decided to Unilocal the closest place to our current location. 7 Café is pretty close to Donut Bar, so we parked a block and a half away, which was a good decision. Due to all the high reviews, I was anticipating a huge crowd for Sunday brunch, but the restaurant was almost empty. This was a relief since the menu is on the counter and I would have felt bad holding up people behind us while we decided on what to order. Coffee Bar. The cashier recommended their Café de Olla, which is a Colombian coffee with sugar and cinnamon. Cam thought it was too sweet, but I enjoyed a couple of sips before going for their Colombian Supreme. I definitely liked having so many coffee choices. Breakfast Croissant with Sausage and Country Potatoes. The breakfast croissant was just okay in my book. The eggs could have used some salt and pepper, and the sandwich overall could have used an aioli or sauce to make it less dry. However, since I was hungry, it was good enough. The fruit bowl was a nice touch, but it had a lot of honeydew as a filler and I really dislike that in fruit bowls since it seems really deceiving. Most of the honeydew was at the bottom so it looked like it was full of my favorite fruits, but after eating my one piece of strawberry, one piece of watermelon, and five grapes, all that was left were several pieces of honeydew. Sorry about the fruit bowl rant — I take my fruit seriously. The country potatoes were also just okay — they tasted more like cubed french fries than country potatoes. Some spices or herbs would have made the potatoes much better, or maybe even ketchup. There weren’t any condiments on the table, so I don’t know if they had any ketchup or hot sauce available. The Pancake House. Cam really enjoyed his pancake plate. He got it with over medium eggs, which were done perfectly and bacon, which looked good. The pancakes were also really good — it had a nice crispy crust with a fluffy inside. Overall 7 Café is pretty good. If you’re looking for a quiet homemade quality breakfast, this is the place to go. A lot of the food reminded me of the breakfasts I had as a child. The coffee bar is also pretty cool. Cam and I probably won’t seek out this place intentionally, but if you’re in the area(waiting for Donut Bar), this isn’t a bad choice.
