Adorations

Lavonne was incredible in helping me turn my very vague and often changing vision into reality. The florals and décor she selected were perfect and matched the color palette I wanted exactly. LaVonne was so sweet and helpful through the entire process. I could not have been happier!

LaVonne and her team were an absolute pleasure to work with and all of our guests were raving about the stunning floral arrangements at our wedding. As a bride who knew very little about flowers with a mom who insisted on «lots of flowers everywhere,» I was a little concerned about getting the flowers just right. But I shouldn’t have worried: LaVonne was able to help us find the right kinds of arrangements to get the look and feel we wanted while staying within our budget. One of the few requests I had was for lots of different colors — I wanted bright, vibrant, and something that popped. What she came up with was absolutely magical and better than anything I could have imagined. She even came up with a very creative centerpiece using a large spherical glass vase, which was something I had never seen before.
I would certainly recommend LaVonne and her team for your wedding florist, especially if you are a lover of colors, like me!

I could not have been more pleased with my flowers done by Adorations. My wedding planner kind of procrastinated on the task of picking a flower vendor and so we didn’t hire Adorations until a month before the wedding (which took place in November 2013). Flowers was lower on my list of priorities but I still wanted them to look nice. I thought they were going to know I was a month out and desperate so I was worried I’d get poor product. Quite the opposite. We only spoke once on the phone, not even time to meet in person and show them what I liked! But they got the gist right away.
They hit the perfect note with my flowers, with the colors and types they used. Colorful but wistful and romantic. We did long low runners at the longer tables and taller, more sparse orchid things at the round tables. I had my wedding at the SD Children’s Museum, so it was a less traditional venue. I didn’t want to go full modern with all décor and flowers, it is still just a wedding after all, and they harmonized the venue and occasion perfectly. They came in on budget and I got numerous compliments on the flowers throughout the night. I would highly recommend Adorations for a wedding!

LaVonne was excellent. What she put together for our wedding was stunning. The reception arrangements were absolutely beautiful. She was also very willing to work within our limited budget and made compromises that would still develop our vision and maintain her artistry and skill. I was disappointed that I didn’t get to visit with her again on the wedding day. (My fiancée and I also had only met with her once during the planning phase, as we live in Chicago.) Anyway, like I said, LaVonne was great and has a wonderful eye for floral design.
This review would have been 5 stars except for a few technicalities: the miniature orchids fell off/​became unglued from the ribbon wrapping my bouquet about 10 minutes before the ceremony; my mother’s orchid on her corsage became unglued during dinner at the reception; we had made one change 2 weeks before the wedding to request just 2 corsages instead of 4, and Adorations acknowledged the change, but we still ended up with 4 corsages. (On the plus side, we then had an extra corsage to give to my mom.)

I recently used Adorations for my August 2011 wedding and was thrilled with their work. LaVonne was a pleasure to work with (and I planned from the east coast and only met with her once) and ensured that the look for the day was what I envisioned and within my budget. LaVonne took the time to listen to me and it wasn’t all about how it «should» look, but what I wanted. She was a pleasure and I hope to work with her again!
