The food was excellent. Gyros were good, zucchini and tabouli exceptional. It is a beer garden setup, so expect to sit near strangers at picnic tables.

We found this place on Unilocal. So happy we did. The service was great. Food was yummy and the prices were reasonable. On top of everything, they have an incredible beach view. Will definitely be back!

First time. Kid-friendly. Great food that is perfect when you want something outside of the norm. Oh, and the beer is not bad, either. Will be back.

This is for sure one of my go to places in PB. I’ve been here multiple times with friends and family and so far I’ve been pleased with the staff, beer, and most importantly the food ;P If you haven’t been here you should check it out. Food: Ive had pretty much everything on this menu, however i would recommend the doner fries(especially if your sharing), or pita wrap. Try either with lamb or falafel … hmmm

Great Lunch. Ordered the kabob triple and each(Salmon/Chix/Shrimp)was wonderful. Wasn’t expecting a full salad and much too much to eat for lunch. Highly recommend and I didn’t even try the Ales.

We stumbled upon this place while riding bikes around PB and only had time for 1 beer. They have a great view and a good selection of beers that they brew themselves as well as from other breweries. We were there for happy hour, so I think the beer was only $ 3. We were bummed we had just eaten elsewhere because the food looked amazing and we wanted everything we saw others eating. The beer I had was really great and next time I’m in San Diego this place will be on my list to check out again.

The Good: *Nice outdoor deck with picnic style seating and ocean view. *Delicious pints of house brews, from IPA to Pale Ale to Leggy Blond. Other guest brews available as well. *Doner Sandwiches: Before you do ANYTHING, replace the word *sandwich* with Selections. They’re not just sandwiches. Then pick your protein or veggies, then select a sauce. Multiple proteins and sauces may be combined. *Fried Parmesan Zucchini — the accompanying sauce has quite a kick! *Friendly and calm service. Even as the place got really busy, our server tried kept it together, despite fries not arriving until the end(they were comp’d) and my pizza not being prepared as ordered. *Validated underground parking and bike racks available. The in-between: *As tasty as our side of French Fries was, you simply must reveal that they are dusted with sugar. Fries with sugar is like eating pasta with rice sprinkled on top. The Fail: *Server asked if my Naan Pizza with mozzarella, goat cheese, cilantro, and basil could be served on flat bread instead. Sure, I said, and please add chicken. Every single item was left off except the mozzarella. After I returned it, chicken was plopped on and about three specks of green. Good place for vegetarians. For the rest of us, stick to the«sandwiches» and kabobs.

Loved the mimosa flight! The flavors were distinct and yet subtle, making the mimosas very refreshing and a perfect treat in the middle of the day. We also got a couple appetizers on the side that were good, but nothing to rave about. Amplified is definitely a nice place to stop by after a walk on the beach. It has a great outdoor atmosphere and is dog-friendly.

After the first time of coming here, I came back 3 times within the matter of a few weeks! I LOVE their Doner Kebab Sandwich. I usually order the sandwich with their local flatbread, chicken, garlic aioli, California chili, and grilled onions. It is to die for! Great food, great price, great service. I will be back!

I wanted to eat a somewhat healthy lunch with the smell of the ocean air and some sun to soak in as it was quite warm on this fine Friday afternoon. Cruisin’ down PB, doner fries sounded great. The first year living in PB, I usually came here at least once a week. Parking is provided with the garage, and they do validation if needed. If not, street parking it is. There located on the second floor of the plaza, and their signage is easy to spot. Sit yourself at the outdoor patio area, I got lucky with a corner spot. Quickly greeted by their awesome wait staff, I got my order in. They have their brew list and guest beers drafts, which changes regularly. The raspberry iced tea was really good and tasty. Doner fries is an appetizer done Mediterranean style with your choice of lamb, chicken, or steak. The fries are seasoned with this salty yet sweet seasoning. On top of this bed of fries are lettuce, tomato, onion, garlic aioli, and chicken. Tender and juicy chicken. So good oh and most definitely hit that doner fries craving. This is a shareable plate, but I finished it without a beat. If I had a beer, maybe not. I usually come here during happy hour with my dog as they are puppy friendly. Good vibes, open air dining, ocean breezy affairs make for a chill lunch kick back experience. If you want a pretty decent happy hour experience and good service in PB, this is a spot to consider. Thanks Amplified.

You know a place is good if you wake up the next morning and all you can think of is what you had yesterday. Yesterday we had some beers(I like the pathway wit), doner fries and kebab plate(salmon, shrimp, steak). Went back here today for more doner fries. I can totally wolf that down! It’s a large serving to share and sorry I don’t have pictures coz we were too distracted by its goodness to take photos.

Food was good, 4⁄5. We had the taster plate. Beer was average, especially by SD standards. I’d rate the 2 we tried, Electo-lite APA and the Snapper Saison 3⁄5. Definitely quaffable but nothing. I would come back for or recommend going of of the way for. Service was fine. Overall, pretty average food and beer experience but in a cool, stylish environment. If you’re in the area, not a bad place to check out but if looking for awesome beers, go elsewhere.

Had a great happy hour here. They have discounted beers, and a $ 10 mimosa flight, which is what I did. You get 4 small glases of their flavored mimosas: regular, peach, mango/mint, and strawberry. The mango/mint and strawberry were fantastic. They also have lots of food on happy hour, the salmon and shrimp skewers were fantastic, seasoned perfectly, but the real star of the show was the doner fries. It’s like a mediterranean bowl of goodness on top of well seasoned fries, topped with your choice of protein, defnitely big enough for two and only $ 5 during happy hour!!! I got it topped with salmon, and it was so freaking good. Will definitely be riding my bike back here to take in some more Cali sunsets soon

I’ve had Amplified Ale Works bookmarked for a while because of the highlight of many reviews: the Döner Fries. My brothers and I like to try any kind of spin on «loaded fries,» so we were looking forward to trying the dish. It’s a little hard to find if you’re not familiar with the area and depending on where you’re coming from, but take the tips of other Unilocalers and park in the underground structure rather than circle around for street parking; the establishment will validate your ticket. The place is nice, especially the dog friendly patio area. Tables and bar seating line the space with ambient lighting backdrops of the logo name. Along with a couple of their brewed beers, we ordered the Döner Fries. They were really good – probably one of my favorite renditions of loaded fries besides Carne Asada style. The döner sandwich we also got was ordinary. It came with a side of quinoa, but not the requested dressing, so it was of the dry sort. Service is the main problem. It’s pub style service(seat yourself or order at the bar), so don’t expect a lick of attention until you’ve secured your own spot. We found ourselves looking around for a while with our pups and finally found a corner barrel to stand at. The servers were obviously busy with the crowd that evening, and their only job is to take your drink and food orders, and your money. Our drinks were not discounted for the happy hour prices. And we were unaware of the self-serve water tank around the front. Had we known, we wouldn’t have asked for water when ordering. A little heads up comment from the server rather than a blank stare and«okay» would have been appreciated. I didn’t even realize where the water was until I noticed the missing sauce and went to the bar for assistance in lieu of flagging down our absent server. I came for the Döner Fries, which I would recommend getting. Other than that, I’d have to try their lunch specials whenever I’m in the area again to see if anything else is more worthy of ordering.

***3.5 stars…*** Pros + Fresh and delicious Greek food with a good beer selection + HONEY oregano sauce on house salad was BOMB! + Loved the crispy Cajun fries with the dipping sauce + Great patio view of Pacific Beach + Hipster Cons + On the pricier side + Small meat portions on skewers(see photos below) on a $ 15 plate but still delicious and flavorful + Self-seating only + Servers don’t seem as attentive due to busy atmosphere(just BARLEY3.5 stars because of this) I’ll be back to try the DONOR fries some day.

I love the food here — they have great lamb gyros with good fresh veggies. They also have a good beer selection on tap. They have a good selection of kababs and different sauces to go with. This time we also had the fried zucchini sprinkled with Parmesan it was Delish but a little too greasy for my liking. I was told by a friend that this place used to be near SDSU(GO Aztecs!) but now they are in PB(good for me). The atmosphere is casual– you walk in sit down on bench like sitting inside or tall tables and outside they have regular tables. You can see the ocean which is always a plus! The location is great. It seems to be like young couples like to bring their young kids/toddlers as well– quite a few tonight. It could be the good selection of beers on tab attracting the young parents. I will say– given that you walk in and wait for a server to come to you I would suggest not going on a Friday evening/night. It was very busy and took a bit to get service, my bf and I had been here bf so we knew it was worth it and hadn’t experienced that in the past.
