It’s Ok, not the best ever, but not bad. Al little pricey for smaller portions than other taco shops. Good location near trolley and bus stop so I guess they gotta make up for that rent

Been here many time in the past. Just another taco shop. Nothing on menu stands out compared to other taco shops. Good portions and open 24⁄7 is great but that keeps you open not outstanding. They charge for having the sour cream put on the side instead in the burrito if it includes it, Carne adana fries were ok but didn’t find anything about them that wow’ed me. Food is ok, portions good and open 24⁄7 definetly a 3 star. 4 stars is if they had great customer service but just like the food it is par with other taco shops so is the service.

Food is good but nothing great. I never get California burritos here because they are not really California burritos(fries, carne Assad, and sour cream) instead they’re more a mix of a California and a carne asada, with no sour cream but salsa and cheese– sounds good but they should name it something else so there isn’t any confusion. Prices are moderate

Conveniently open 24 hours, not the greatest Taco shop. They can up their burrito game. They so have really good rolled tacos though, and 13 for a really good price!

Best thing on the menu is their shrimp diablo burritos, really hot but great. The rest of the food on their menu is pretty good as well. I would recommend this place.

I have sworn my allegiance to Armando’s Taco Shop. I live in Imperial Beach and there are several taco shops closer to my pad than this one. Problem is, they all suck fleshy orbs. I have been rocking Armando’s for a few years now and their consistency is second to none. One night my company threw a party/dinner for all us employees. My second hand man was literally a week from 21 so needless to say he did’t get in. We roll as a team so we rolled out together and hit Armando’s for some burritos and a six pack of Stones. I believe we had just as good a time as everyone that stayed back at the fancy shmancy restaurant. I have tried a significant portion of their menu and it all rocks. Carne asada is always bomb. Carnitas is juicy tender and crispy as it should be. Doesn’t matter if you are in a taco mood or have a hankering for a torta or just want to wolf a burrito down before the big game, this place delivers the goods. Actually, I don’t think they deliver, but you catch my drift. I have made it a point to drive the extra couple blocks out of my way to score their food because I know they go out of their way to ensure that the food is on point. They actually serve a decent beef taco(believe me, it’s not the easiest thing to accomplish!) and their breakfasts are great too. Machaca or chorizo or even the typical white boy bacon egg potatoes and cheese abomination are tasty af. There is one thing places like this can’t buy, and that is word of mouth recommendations. So the word from my mouth is «Get over there and get you some grub.» You won’t be disappointed.

I mean the food is good, but it’s just like any other Mexican restaurant. Which is why I can’t overlook how bad their customer service is. The lady at the register was rude and had an overall bad personality. She wasn’t attentive and didn’t get my order right either.

Bad service, bad food. I ordered 2 tacos, but the lady puts them in the computer as one burrito. Also ordered a burrito al pastor but she puts it in as adobada. I didn’t correct her, because those things sounded as good as what I ordered. The fish burrito was inedible. The fish was super dry. The dog ate it for dinner. Adobada was mediocre. It just didn’t have any flavor. I had to add tons of salsa verde, but it was pretty bland too.

Great adobada burrito… Saw a lady in the laundry place across the street –about a month ago– with a pretty good looking burrito, me and my bf asked where she got it and ever since we’ve been wanting to try them out. Today was the day, got there about 4:30 or 5 and we even ate there. People just didn’t stop coming in and out(all kind of people: kids, students, adults, adult adult, young adults… Everyone) I gave 3 stars because i think its a little bit over priced(but what isn’t in this economy right :/) and also because I couldn’t modify the combos and meals i had to get stuff separately… Will be coming back when craving mexican food

It’s a taco shop located on Palm Ave and it’s open 24 hours. It doesn’t get anymore South Bay than that! Food is always fresh & hot. I’m a huge fan of their carne aside fries and California burritos. Their breakfast burritos are good too — my husband and I usually stop by here on early mornings on the way to Disneyland, or on those late nights when we wanna be «fat kids,» haha. Service is usually pretty quick unless you happen to visit during peak hours or just after 2AM on weekends when this place is usually packed with exhausted bar hoppers.

I get it, if you need to charge an extra 90 cents for cheese on an Asada burrito, but you can’t *substitute* cheese for guacamole without the extra charge? (Yes, I’m 1 of the 20 Californians that think guacamole is gross.) …ok, policy is policy, I get it. But hold on, they wanted to charge me an additional 90 cents for rice on my burrito, when I’m removing the included guacamole?! I clarified with the lady… I don’t want the guacamole that’s included… so can’t you toss a little rice in there instead, without charging me almost an extra dollar, on top of the extra dollar for some cheese?! Nah, I’m good… I walked out the door without ordering… I know when I’m being«nickel-and-dimed»! Will edit review if I ever happen to drop by again and have a better experience.

Good legit and simple Mexican food. Its hard to not throw a stone and hit an amazing Mexican food place in IB but this place is one of my favs. The prices are expressly extremly reasonable. Watch out though they charge for visa card use and they don’t have a salsa bar and their pepper and carrot bag is 1.00 $. But there food for sure makes up for not having the convenience of getting your own salsa

As someone who enjoys various types of foods, and is constantly searching for an authentic Mexican restaurant, I was thoroughly pleased with Armando’s. They have an array of dishes and each one is authentic down to the last spice. The outside is extremely misleading; most may misjudge it if going off of aesthetics. It comes off as a shanty corner joint, but the food is absolutely incredible. I usually get the Carne Asada fries with Shrimp — I even got my girlfriend hooked on them! But, every dish I’ve had is impeccable. And they’re open 24hrs, what could be better?!

Cheap, fast and yummy! My only issue is that I always ask for no onions and they always put them on there. They also charge $ 0.35 for a debit card transaction.

It was like a homecoming of sorts. I first came across Armando’s more than twenty years ago while working in nearby Chula Vista. We used to refer to the Carne Asada burritos as a «foot» because they were nearly a foot long. This is actually where I was introduced to the culinary delight we have all come to know and love as «Carne Asada Chips.» They were serving up CAC’s before they even had it on the menu, and soon added it because we ordered it so often. It was like I took a trip back in time, as the Carne Asada chips were just as I remembered. Carne Asada, hot and greasy chips, guacamole and shredded cheese. They top it off with crumbled Cotija cheese and they are thee best Carne Asada Chips I have EVER had. The amount of Carne they layer throughout this masterpiece is double that of what you can expect from other taco shops. Located on Palm Avenue(IB, not Palm Avenue in CV) just east of Interstate 5, Armando’s is old school taco shop at it’s finest. Same name, location and quality for more than twenty years should say it all.

Not very impressive when you look at the place, but the food really makes up for the lack of space… The portions are ridiculous there’s huge you will come out satisfied! My wife had the combination plate which included an enchilada and a taco along with rice and beans, the taco was good but the enchilada didn’t quite make the cut. I had the carne Asada fries, you really cannot mess up Carne asada fries. The Guacamole was good, the fries were a little dry, but the carne asada made up for it. The portions again are huge and what really surprised me was how fast they got the food really. We both had the Jamaica drink and that made us give it the four stars. I would defiantly be coming back. The red sauce was blah, the green sauce is where it’s at! I would recommend this to my friends.
