Beach Market

I live in the neighborhood right down the street. This is my go to place for all my liquid needs. They recently started selling liquor their which is a huge plus and they carry almost every brand you could think of. They have a huge selection of wine on the back wall. They also have a full deli with sandwiches and salads.
They are also super friendly. A couple of times I was short a quarter or two and they told us to bring the change in next time. Once a friend had paid for cigarettes and left them there. We returned several hours later, during this time the brother took over the shift. He looked over the tape and gave my friend a pack no questions asked.
I am glad they are in the neighbor hood and treat the locals well. I hope they stay in business for the long haul.

I’ve been a big fan of the beach market for about the last 10 years now… actually, no, more like 13 years. Sheesh– time flies!
It has changed hands a couple of times in the past decade and only gotten better with each new owner. The beach market has a good selection of booze (which is only a good thing if you have a patio on the ocean front to drink it on since the Booze Ban has become law. Bah humbug!) and they have a pretty good selection of items that you might need at the last minute to make a decent dinner like pasta, some bits and pieces of fresh produce, canned goods, cheese and stuff.
Years ago when we lived across the street at the Surf Rider we’d go for a walk on the bay side but we’d ALWAYS stop at the ‘market’ to get some candy for the walk first. My kid still remembers this as a ‘special treat’.
But the best thing about the Beach market is the sandwiches. They make a damn good hot pastrami with cheese let-​me-​tell-​you. After lazing the day away on the beach or rollerblading on the boardwalk in the hot of summer nothing quite hits the spot for me like a ice cold Arrogant Bastard and a hot pastrami with cheese from the beach market.
Throw in a tootsie roll pop for dessert and it’s 1996 all over again! :)
