Unsanitary practice Saturday, 4pm ish. So nasty. I just saw this dude before taking our order… He washed his hands and tried to put on gloves. I asked him to dry his hands after washing, while having a hard time putting on gloves. He said they out of towels… I told my baby mama to stop ordering. We were going to try thier food since we’re hungry. I lost my appetite. Nasty don’t eat here. I hope the owner sees this posting. I’m so discussed by thier employee’s action that I am writing this review. And thinking of making a complaint.

I’m surprised by the low number of stars. While I don’t think that Blimpie’s is the best sub shop on earth, I do think it’s above Subway(yet not as good as Jersey Mike’s). I wasn’t even aware that there were Blimpie’s in San Diego until I happened upon this Walmart location earlier this week. I used to eat at Blimpie’s when I lived in Seattle and always enjoyed it. I ordered the Turkey and Provolone sub and swapped the provolone for swiss, which they happily did. I love sub shops that slice the meat right in front of you(unlike the aforementioned Subway). Makes it seem fresher! There’s an assortment of veggies and toppings. I recommend the spicy mustard for a nice kick. Everything was fresh and the second half of my foot long still tasted wonderful the next day. No complaints here for an $ 8, two-day meal!

Remarkable for being unremarkable… Always meant to try Blimpie’s whenever I made an infrequent stop in Walmart, so yesterday I finally gave in. I ordered the $ 6 Club combo(ham and turkey on marble rye) — the sandwich was supposed to be six inches, but it didn’t LOOK like it was six inches. Not to mention that it felt like I could get more veggies at Subway, there’s no cheese on the sandwich(a club sandwich is supposed to come with it — or I must be spoiled based on other sandwich shops), and I barely could taste the oregano, salt, and pepper on it. If there’s a good thing I could say about the sandwich, at least the veggies were fresh. Also, the counter guy didn’t notice I was standing in front of the menu board for a couple of minutes — he was too busy checking his cell phone. Then again, if I worked here with barely any traffic and a subpar product, I’d be bored too.

I was shopping at Walmart, never had Blimpie before, I got a tuna sub from here to go, by the time I got back to my office 10 minutes later it had soaked through the bread and became mush. Horrible ingredients and bread, Subway or Jersey Mike’s from now on. What a waste of $ 8.

Good service, nice lady, however the turkey and cheese on wheat was not good, the wheat bread tasted tastless. I was starving. Next time Ill goto subway.

I had heard from my boss a long time ago that Blimpie’s was the place. Now this was years ago before we even had one in San Diego, so I was excited to finally get to taste what he had been raving about. Needless to say I was not impressed at all. The jalapeño cheese bread sucked, it seemed like cheap white bread with weird stuff stuck on top, the tuna was nothing special at all. Some of the items on the board were really expensive, I don’t see why anyone would pay so much for one of these crappy sandwichs.

5…5…dollar footlongs! Not here! No sir. Try $ 12.00 footlongs. WTF’s up with that?! At the Blimpies by my house they’re not this expensive. I should have looked at the price before ordering but didn’t. Stupid! Stupid!Stupid! *Smacks head*. They duped me in there with their convenience. Tucked in a little corner so nicely at this Wal-mart with no customers in line(now I know why). The sandwhich was good however. I prefer almost any sub shop over Subway mainly because of the bread they use. Subway’s deal right now is bangin’ though, I must admit. So lets do the math…-1 star on price, +1 star for MY stupidity not checking the price prior to ordering. +2 star for a good sandwhich. +1 for the convenience. –1 star for the lady not hearing me say«no oil, just vinegar» apparently she’s trying to sabotage my efforts to «Hank Azaria-zize» myself.
