If there was a NO star option… that would even be too much of a rating for this unprofessional con artist!
Amanda Garrity, supposed professional baker, agreed to bake my wedding cake. Excited about the variety of scrumptious flavors (and cheesecake fillings) I booked her immediately. She also agreed to throw in cake pops as a summer special she is doing to get more clientele.
To make a long story short, she shows up to my wedding an hour late (after my grand entrance) and only with the top tier. She claimed she was in a car accident and was only able to save the the top tier (which was all smashed) and no cake pops. First of all, a professional bakers would not deliver an assembled cake, they put it together once they get to the venue. Second, if there was a real accident, nothing should have happened to the cake pops!
Anyway, Amanda demanded to get paid because she was having another cake delivered. Which she was going to have to pay for since the accident was her fault. In the midst of everything my wedding planner paid her with the belief that a cake was really on its way.
My wedding was cake-​less! with the exception of parts of what should have been a 6 inch top tier. She never returned.
After several attempts of contacting her I have come to the conclusion that she is avoiding me and just stole my money. If she was really in an accident, at this point, shouldn’t she have called me to apologize for not delivering the service we agreed upon?
Two days later my wedding planner’s mom (who was at my wedding) saw her shopping away at Costco and said her car didn’t look like it was in any crash. Accident, my butt!!!
So my fellow Unilocalers, unless you want a party without promised desserts/​cakes, steer away from this woman.
