BlowPop Dry Bar UTC

we got an appointment on a saturday morning, as we were shopping at UTC the night before.
i had never been here before, and the other blow bars are tough to get an appointment at last minute.
my daughter and i went.
my stylist was quiet, not very talkative, didn’t really understand what i wanted with body.
she poofed up my hair by teasing it versus adding body with curls, etc.
i needed to fix it afterward, i looked like i was from teh 70s.
i will not be coming back here for me, but my daughter really enjoyed her stylist.
she curled her hair up beautifully, and she loved it.

I can’t understand why this place has so many decent reviews. Upon checking in we were greeted very rudely. We did not feel welcomed at all. We were told to sit down. My friend was offered water but I was not offered anything. Once we sat down the girl came over and rudely told us to change seats. Why didn’t she just tell us where to sit in the first place then?
Both blow out girls that worked on us looked like they needed a bath and hairbrush themselves. Total sloppy and dirty looking employees.
Shampoo was pathetic! She barely touched my scalp.
Then she curled my hair with a curling iron! I thought it was a blow out bar! I looked like Shirley Temple and had to wash and redo my hair when I got home. I’m pissed I even tipped her 10 bucks. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!!

Visiting from out of town… Typically get blow out twice a week… Glad to find this place in short notice — team did a great job!

Great experience here! They use amazing products and top of the line blow dryers. The environment is relaxing and pleasant. Tamika was my cosmetologist and she was wonderful! The customer service was exceptional and David is amazing! I bought a package before I left, because I WILL be back!

With a wedding that afternoon and straight hair that could rarely hold a curl, I was in desperate need of hair help from the experts. I made an appointment the day before and luckily, they had a morning appointment time. As soon as I got there, I was graciously greeted with a smile and I was asked if I wanted a beverage (water, mimosa, coffee, tea, etc). 45 minutes later, I left BlowPop with soft and big curls… a HUGE deal since I can never get my hair to curl on my own. I loved how these curls were able to hold throughout my friend’s wedding after a long night of dancing and celebrating. I highly recommend going if you’d like a special treat to be pampered with gorgeous hair or for a special event!

I’ve come here several times for a blowout and never had any complaints however this last time I was pretty disappointed. It felt like my stylist just didn’t want to be there. My shampoo was just blah. No massage, barely rinsed the shampoo out. When she was getting close to finishing my blow out, I asked if she would smooth over my baby hairs and the curls around my face. She said sure. She got cream, smacked it on and said all done! Anytime I’ve had a blowout they always flat iron the front of my hair to get the curls. I’ll probably go again for a quick blow out but I hope they have a little more attentive customer service

This was our first time visiting. Expected a relaxing, fun experience. I showed hairstylist exactly what I wanted. I felt very rushed & she did not get even come close to the pictures I showed her love. I was with a party of 9, and 8 out of 9 had to re-​do their hair afterwards. We spent over $ 400.00. Waste of $$.

I’m a hairstylist with the kind of hair that loves a blowout.
And I Iove the experience of getting a blowout without having to do it myself. Its either a time for relaxing, a girls day, or a chance for me to multi task/​emails etc and get my hair done at the same time.
It’s been awhile since I have been, and used to go regularly.
I have sent so many clients here for blowouts, proms and every guest has come back with raving reviews.
There are many times out of town clients will look up local stylists for blowouts, call me and I’ll send them over to blowpop. I don’t bother with «making sure they know who sent them» because they always deliver.
I have several people I can refer here and assure they will be in good hands.
I’ve been enough times to know which personalities will fit well too.
I am pretty easy to please and never have an attitude of high expectations, but I do pay attention to detail, cleanliness and service more so than my actual hair. I am generally happy to touch up my hair later if I need to, but unless I’m in a wedding it’s never that serious:)
I’ve always left happy!

Came here to get curls for friends wedding. Made appt same day within the hour! Quickly greeted when arrived, checked in and sat. Hair looked fantastic. Definitely going to to return. Great price and fun atmosphere!

Next time you need a quick & professional blowout, this is the spot! After a shampoo, a blow dry, a style & a mimosa, I left with beachy waves that lasted through a night of dancing.

Adrianne and Bryanna are seriously the sweetest girls. My sister and I are here traveling and our über driver recommend this place to us for a blowout and now I understand why. First, Krista answered the phone and was able to squeeze us in with our limited time, she also offered champagne upon our arrival. (The answer is always yes!) the girls started our hair right away and it all turned out absolute perfect. Can’t wait to return to San Diego and see these ladies again. They are awesome and our hair is super rad.

I’ve gotten my hair done about five times here for the past two years. I love it everytime !! I try to request Tamiko Cus she makes my hair amazing everytime !!! Haha

I don’t get the rave reviews. My first and last time was on a weekend. I got checked in right away, on time. Then we went back to the most uncomfortable shampoo bowl ever! I couldn’t wait for shampoo to be over… not that she spent any extra time. No massage, skimpiest, smallest towel ever! The website said 1 hour appointments, I was out in half an hour with a hair style I didn’t even like. When I tried to tell my hairstylist what I wanted, I was told I should have been more specific before she blew me dry… my hair was not correctable now! Not worth $ 40!

This place is fabulous! Hip, modern, funky atmosphere in the styling area but very calm and relaxing in the shampoo area. You can usually book an appointment and the receptionist and manager are very sweet and accommodating. The stylists are fantastic and love coming here I wish I could on a weekly basis. It’s great for a special event or if you just want your hair to look fab for a few days. The device is a wash and blow dry and curls if requested.

I loved how my hair turned out but my hairstylist was completely silent the whole time. It wasn’t too much of a bother, but it would have been nice to have SOME conversation.

Thats the third time I come here. Second I have to say I felt realy sad. For some reason that I have no idea, the professional was realy not professional. She made me feel that I was not supposed to be there. She even asked me why I didnt came to the first one that I saw the week before. For me going to a hair salon is supposed to be relaxing and good energy, but I left feeling terrible. I hope someone help this other girl so she feels better in her work and dont do this to another customer.
But because I realy like the ambiance and the location, I decided giving a last try.
And this time and this is the reason I gave five stars, Isabel attend me so sweet, gentle and making questions to realy know what I was looking for. I have long and curly hair and she took her time working realy good and making sure my roots were completely dry.
Now for sure I will be coming back.

First time here and had an amazing experience. Carissa is amazing. We were on the same page as far as my look and got exactly what I wanted. I had such a fun time with her it felt like hanging out with a girlfriend but better with champagne, laughs, and great music!!!

I had a blow-​out and style with conditioning treatment. My stylist — Adrianne — did a superb job.
1) They were out of hot towels for the conditioning treatment. — Disappointing.
2) I felt a bit snubbed when I checked in. The two people working seemed to prefer their own company to acknowledging mine. When they did acknowledge me it was not a warm welcome.
However because my stylist did such an excellent job, was so friendly and warm and made me feel welcome and pampered — I plan to return.

Joseph did an AMAZING job on my blowout! He made my hair soft, full of body and ready for my Easter gala tomorrow night! I am so happy with his work. Plus, my hair is naturally curly. He was super sweet and professional. I also had the pleasure of being greeted by David who made sure I was happy and offered me a yummy beverage and a refill while I was here. Can’t wait to be back! Thank you Joseph and David :) Must stop by if you want to get a beautiful blowout!

I wasn’t going to write a review for this place but considering how bad it was. I think I should just to warn other customers. I made an appointment & checked in without a problem. I got a guy name Nick. He was okay until he burned me on my forehead with a curling iron and basically gave me a very crappy curl job. I told him that I wanted lose waves curl but my hair came out super curly that he asked another employee to help him fix my hair. He didn’t speak to me again after the other girl was fixing my hair. Needless to say, I won’t be going back and waste my money on them when I think I could’ve done the same job. We think we go to a «professional» to get better results right? Think again before you enter this place.
