the sale associates were very attentive to all the customers that came in, including me. I was looking for or pricing UGG boots. There was a cute pair, not what I was looking for, but very cute. And it was on sale! Less than at the Navy Exchange even with tax for the UGG boots I ended up buying at Boot world. I went there only a couple of times while living near by. Once for riding boots, and once for hiking boots and socks, I was going to be stationed in Japan and there is winter’s up northern Japan Aomori. Then it was this year that I went to check the UGG boots, and the sales associates, and sale was great. But just a suggestion they should bend down to see if it is a good fit for the customer. Not just look at you wearing it and saying, «it looks like it fits you» That was the only thing wrong. Even I know to check to see if there is room with your big toe by pressing on it. Asking how does it feel, to also know if the material of that shoe/boot stretches or not. Some do and some don’t. They should school their sales associates by the manufacturer if it does stretches or not. Plus they should have wide width sizes for those who have that.

Random trip here, I wasn’t planning on buying anything but I ended up leaving with a pair of uggs I’ve been lusting after for a year. This store is in a pretty sketchy area, but the service here was really awesome. I was helped by a super sweet young girl. She was so warm, friendly, and perfectly happy with my puppy who I wasn’t sure I could bring. She was super helpful with my purchase, even though she was helping other people I still felt like the only customer. This store has a wide selection of uggs, it’s a bit dangerous for the wallet. I may need to come back for another pair in the near future…

Best customer service I can remeber. As soon as we walked in Marlene was on it. She found out what I wanted and needed in a boot and went to work. Marlene did everything she could to ensure that I was going to find the boots I wanted today. Unfortunately they didnt have the boots in my size in that store, Marlene then tracked down my boots with out my asking and offered to have them shipped to her store with out me being obligated to buy them if I changed my mind. Since the store was with in driving distance I chose to go pick them up so Marlene called the store and put them on hold for me. I will always go to the Midway location first from now on because I know Ill get the help and service I need. Thanks Marlene.

For the people complaining about boots that didn’t hold up, try taking it to the manufacturer, not the retailer. They carry a good selection of decent brands and have knowledgeable and courteous staff — which is what I ask for in a shoe store.

I have to admit that I once worked here for a while back a couple of years ago, so I kind of have an «insider’s knowledge of behind-the-scenes.» That being said-this locally owned and operated Boot World has been in this octagon-shaped building for a long time! It resides in an oasis of homeless people’s favorite corner to camp and ready themselves to beg at the mighty corner of Midway Drive & Rosecrans. The people that work there are very customer-service oriented and strive mightily to give great customer service-which they do with a smile. Especially at the CRAZY Holiday times when every trophy wife and cougar wants the latest UGGBOOTS! This Boot World BLOWSUGGS out of the water, The Christmas I worked there, we had the highest sales increase percentage and earned a great bonus! I LOVEUGGS! Not just cause Pamela Anderson wears them in Malibu, but just because they are so cozy and comfortable. Boot World was constantly transferring them around to all the other stores-as people would request this or that. God Bless that UGG-some are God ugly but they do turn a profit for sure! Now the other big money-maker is all the work boot sales. Boot World has corporate accounts with lots of companies and they all send their workers in looking to steel-tipped boots-which Boot World has a lot of. City of SD employees were always hangin out, and lots of HOT biker-types would come in for the Harley boots. It is a very exciting place to work if you like cute guys. Oh yes-back to business. Even though I had trouble learning all the details of all the different boots, I will say that their selection is extensive and if I ever needed some water-proof restaurant shoes or kick-ass stompers-this is the place. The nice folks will even measure and size your feet and suggest extras such as shoe inserts or special work socks. All together-a good place to shop(and not-too bad a place to work) either!
