Seriously everything in the menu here is delicious. I’ve had the butternut squash soup, clam chowder, banh mi salad, turkey cranberry sand which. I like the fact that you get do a soup/salad or sand which/salad combo. It’s a good option to have especially since Specialtys down the street doesn’t have that option.

Had lunch there. The bread is great but they don’t put much meat on their sandwiches. You better have good teeth as well because the bread is hard as a rock when you go to bite into it.

I’ve experienced better at OTHER Boudins. Compared to the San Marcos Boudin this place falls short. The beverages, the condiments, the service, are all better up in north county San Diego. Just the facts… — The kid’s meals are a value because they include a cookie and drink. Though no free bread turtles down here. — If your sandwich is made on a roll, get it on sliced bread instead. The sourdough rolls will SHRED the roof of your mouth. — Need more napkins! Why do you have to go over to the pickup area to reach over and grab more napkins. — Boudins is one of the last holdouts since the UTC mall did a cultural makeover. It’s hidden location probably is in it’s best interest, and yours.

Perfect bread bowl soup for a cloudy day in San Diego, our food came out on time, and was prepared nicely. For one of my friends(who’s first time was eating in Boudin) the associate took the time to explain the menu, and also made it know that we can purchase a loaf of their special bread.

I got the sandwich + breadbowl soup combo. The soup was good at the first few spoons, but my palette quickly got used to the taste, turning the soup less tasty and more bland. Maybe it is that the soups were not hot enough to last a while. Clam chowder was my choice for the day, along with a tuna sandwich on sourdough. I liked the taste of both overall, but the crust on the sandwiches tends to be really hard. The place was small but nice. I found myself relaxed and I think the red and beige setting added to that. A bathroom would have been nice, since I always want to wash my hands before and after eating.

We stumbled across this place the other evening while having to run to Nordstrom. I have never noticed it before when visiting this mall… duh! The guy behind the counter was very nice and offered up some suggestions for dinner. I had the Chicken Cobb salad and my hubby had a grilled cheese sandwich. This place is clean and the staff pleasant. The food was good and the portions were just right. You can sit either inside or out(they have a small patio area) with a few tables. We’ll be back for sure!

I usually come here when I have a coupon for BOGO soups or for a loaf of free sourdough bread. The soups here are okay but are cheap after applying the BOGO coupon. You can choose get them in a bread bowl or regular bowl. If you get a bread bowl to go, they will put the soup in a separate cup for you so you don’t have to worry about your bread bowl getting soggy or spilling :) It also comes with butter(and crackers, I think?). I’ve also ordered the half sandwich/small salad combo(does not include hot sandwiches, like the Sourdough French Dip). The Ceasar Salad here is pretty tasty. I don’t recommend the sandwiches with sourdough, since the bread tends to be really hard. There is outdoor and indoor seating, so you can eat on the patio if you have a dog. If you ask for the closest restroom, they will direct you to inside of Nordstrom.

I like Boudin because I work across the street so ordering lunch and walking over to pick it up is very convenient to me. I am not a big fan of their sandwiches because I feel like their bread or baguette is way too hard but I love their soups.

When I came here this past Mother’s Day weekend, it was in search of their Mother’s Day special — a sun-shaped loaf of bread with the word«Mom» in the center. Cool, right? Well, a lot of people thought so… this Boudin location was sold out of them by the time I arrived! Since I didn’t want the visit to go to waste, I ended up ordering a heart-shaped loaf studded with chocolate and raisins for about $ 10; plus, as it was a cold day, I ordered a sourdough bread bowl filled with clam chowder. The clam chowder was filling — while it was full of potatoes and clams, the soup was a bit on the thin side. Maybe it was out for a while… at least the bread bowl was toasted with a chewy top that went well with the butter it was served with. The rest of the menu looks pricy, but there’s a few items that caught my eye that I’d like to check out. The service… eh. I think they forgot that I had ordered the heart-shaped loaf, as they didn’t give it to me with my meal. I had to come up to the counter with my receipt as proof that I had placed an order — once they saw my receipt, the staff were a bit apologetic and got my bread packaged right away. 3.5 overall due to the quality of the food — would like to come back again for a cookie.

As I big fan of sourdough, I was really looking forward to trying Boudin, but unfortunately, I felt a little underwhelmed by the meal. I ordered the soup and sandwich combo and upgraded the soup to a bread bowl for $ 1 extra. The clam chowder tasted bland, like it was desperately in need of more seasoning, and the bread bowl could have been warmed up a bit to soften the bread. Maybe it was because we were there for dinner and the bread had been sitting out too long but it seemed like it was a bit stale. I’m a huge fan of the clam chowder bread bowls at Disneyland but this was far less impressive. On the plus side, my turkey and havarti sandwich was good. I added pesto mayo, which gave it some nice flavor. The sandwich and bread bowl combo was plenty of food for two meals. I ate the bread bowl for dinner and brought the sandwich home for lunch the next day. My boyfriend got the same combo but with the California veggie sandwich and rustic tomato soup. He seemed to enjoy both his dishes. I’d return again but I’ll skip the bread bowl and clam chowder next time. Maybe I’ll try the grilled cheese instead.

Brenda made my experience a delight. She is what makes a good place great. I had the grilled cheese and caesar salad both were very good — a bit more dressing would have been ideal. When I asked my salad options to go with the sandwich, the cashier did not mention the expanded options until I pressed for a wider variety. I would recommend sharing those as an upsell. I don’t mind paying more for the salad/sandwich combo I want as opposed to the house or simple salad.

Came to eat here for a late lunch. We walked in and was greeted by the lady behind the counter. She was nice and super friendly. I got the great grilled cheese with a bag of potato chips and a tropical iced tea. Our food came out in about 10 minutes. Fairly quick for simple food. I liked my grilled cheese cause there was so much cheese in my sandwich. I couldn’t eat my bag of chips so I saved it. I did enjoy my tropical iced tea. The food tasted different than the other locations I have been too, but I still think the Boudin SF in Fashion Valley is way better. The inside seating is really small and there was no public restroom. I had to use the restroom in Nordstrom’s. I really think they should add a public restroom since there are people who actually eat here. There were tables outside as well but it was very limited with the spacing they had. I don’t think this Boudin SF is my favorite location just because of the small space and no public restroom.

Ok, the tomato soup is the best you have to get it when you come here. but make sure its in a bread bowl. I know the clam chowder soup the standard here but the tomato soup is so good. Make sure you get a cookie or a drink before you leave.

I really love this place! I eat lunch pretty early so I’m grateful they open early. Every time the weather gets chilly I’m always craving their butternut squash soup! It’s so rich and just bursting with flavors. I’ve been wanting to try their clam chowder but the butternut squash is soooo good I never want to miss out. Kids meals are cheap and come with a drink and side of apple sauce. Lots of seating outside and it’s always fun people watching. Their chocolate chip cookies are to die for! Shocked by how gracious and kind the servers were. Thank you Christen for being such a doll :)

My favorite dining option inside the Westfield UTC mall! This place is tucked in the area of the mall with Lululemon, Nordstrom, J. Crew, Tiffany & Co., and Michael Kors, just down the stairs from Michael Kors. The staff here are so friendly and helpful! There have been a couple times where I ordered to go and they voluntarily offered to bring my meal to the parking garage street area during busy mall times so I didn’t need to park to pick up my order. My favorite thing to order here is to either bet the Best of Boudin Combo or the Soup & Salad Combo. My favorite items on my menu are their broccoli cheddar, beef chili, and clam chowder, as well as their turkey and cranberry sandwich, and the best salad is by far the waldorf salad. Make sure to get the bread bowl since that just makes the soup taste oh so delicious!

First time trying this place out, I was pretty surprised. I ordered rustic tomato soup with caesar salad. It was only 8.99 and the portion was pretty darn HUGE! I liked it better than the soup and salad at corner bakery café. I went during lunch time on a Monday and it wasn’t that busy. They gave me my order within 5 mins after I was seated. I was never a fan of sourdough bread until I dined here.

I loved my turkey sandwich and the bread was some of the best sourdough I’ve ever had. I also tried the clam chowder and it was okay. Nothing out of this world, but decent enough for a chilly evening. We took our order to go and there was a bit of a wait, but they were pretty busy in there and it’s a small place. We were entertained looking at all their sourdough loaves anyway. We will definitely be back, at least to buy a loaf or two of their bread. What’s with the bucket?! Is there a loaf of bread in there?! I must know!

I was kind of let down by the dinner I had here today, but normally I LOVE boudin bakeries. This location is tucked into the corner of UTC near Nordstrom, and can get pretty busy on weekends. Today I got the regular grilled cheese, thinking it would be a good option to take to go, over the french dip that I’ve gotten at other boudin locations before. It was about $ 8, but the sourdough bread was sliced extremely thin, so there wasn’t much substance to the sandwich. The cheese was good and I think they grilled some cheese on the outside of the sandwich as well, but it was too small of a sandwich to really be worth $ 8. I also got a side of chips, but that seemed like a sad consolation prize for a tiny sandwich. I wouldn’t order the grilled cheese again unless I got it with ham/apples(the other options) but I will definitely still be back for some yummy soup.

I have always been secretly obsessed with clam chowder since I was a little girl. This place hides in the lower level stores next to Nordstrom, I wish I found out about this place earlier! There’s usually no lines or it goes by pretty fast. I got the salad combo with the Italian Chop Salad and Clam Chowder. The water cups they gave us were pretty big and they also have lemons on the side that you can add in your water. The place is spacious with lots of odd pictures of SF(where the bakery was founded), the food came out pretty fast. The waitress came to check on us once in a while, the service was great! The clams were really fresh and chewy, I loved loved my salad, it was refreshing for the heavy chowder soup. In the end of the meal, I scraped the bread bowl to the bottom till I can’t scrap anymore LOL, it was THAT yummy! Overall a good dining experience and the combo was pretty worth it. Will definitely come back again!

A tucked away, charming little store. It’s all the way on the Nordstrom side of UTC, and down the stairs. I usually get a chicken salad sandwich which comes with your choice of salad or chips. I love the chicken salad since it has a lot of good flavors and balance of flavors in it– creamy from sauce, a bit savory from chicken and I think celery?, and sweet from grapes. It’s so well made– I could just eat it again and again. The pastries aren’t half bad either– I remember trying something apple-y and it was quite delicious! The sourdough is of course, Amazing. Definitely a place to try away from the food courts :) they have bread bowl soup!
