Brazilian Futebol Academy

BFA Soccer is a great program for players who want to work and improve on their skill set. Roger and his staff during our camp visit (Pedro, Alex, and David) are excellent with the kids. They are very skilled, knowledgeable instructors and all work well together.
Their drills are carefully designed and progress through the training. Even on some drills that my kids have practiced before, they showed the players helpful tips to enhance the drill. Those little tips and attention to detail make a difference on the pitch!
Roger and staff were kind and helpful in answering any questions and offering tips and advice.
I highly recommend BFA Soccer to any player who wants to improve their game!

My son Jordan, now 13 years old, has attended soccer academies in Asia and Germany, i.e. Evolution Soccer and Football Academy Germany in Dortmund. In the summer of 2014, while vacationing in San Diego for 2 months, we looked for options where he can substitute the training he was missing back home.
So we asked around and we tried different soccer training options that San Diego had to offer until we stumbled on the Brazilian Fuetbal Academy. I called Coach Roger and he agreed to meet on the same day. To get quickly to the point, I felt that I finally found the one man who is actually a soccer coach.
As someone, who grew up playing competitive soccer in Spain, my one cause of frustration while checking out soccer training options in San Diego was the fact that most options out there involved coaches that were nice FhyEd instructors but were not qualified by any means to coach soccer. They certainly lacked the knowledge and the commitment to run actual training sessions. There was one program that was very bad as it was nothing more than kicking the ball around.
So my son started his camp with Coach Roger and from day one we realized that he run one of the best youth soccer programs we had thus seen. It is fair to say that he does TOP NOTCH work. Coach Roger is an actual coach and an expert in creating drills that are both engaging and building on the players’ existing skills.
In the sessions that I have witnessed, I have seen Coach Roger training the kids to use their weak foot, controlling the ball with all sides of the foot, maintaining position of the ball using different parts of the body. Basically, his drills recreate all possible situations that could come up during an actual game and aim at developing skills that will help young players to best deal with these situations.
I have also noticed that during the games, Coach Roger and his assistant coaches would take part, playing side by side with the kids. This helps immensely with giving the kids instantaneous feedback on how to position themselves on the field and to look at the game from a strategic point of view. Both aspects are most essential in building a soccer player.
Now, I have to admit that I found Coach Roger’s attitude to be the greatest. He is very laid back, yet very engaging. My son ended up signing up for all the camps offered by the Brazilian Fuetbal Academy for last summer in addition to the weekly training sessions. Coach Roger did not only help my son improve immensely his skills, but also helped him become a more determined player.
Five months after the soccer camps at the Brazilian Fuetbal Academy, my son was training in Germany and is anticipating to play competitive football with a German club.

I took my two sons to BFA for a training session and they loved it! They have been playing for 2 years but had never experienced such specialized coaching. The drills and developmental methods are in a much higher level than regular clubs around San Diego. And they had lots of fun!

My daughter and two friends just completed a one-​week camp with the BFA. The expertise and coaching ability of their team was outstanding. My boy is playing club soccer and it was clear from Day 1 that the coaching level at the BFA was at a whole different level than we’ve been used to. Rogerio, Roberta, Thiago and Paolo were extremely positive, professional and effective coaches. We’re looking forward to more training sessions and eventually … a BFA club?
