Was just skating by before heading to work. Had a delicious Chicken Pesto Panini and iced vanilla late. The sandwich also came with a refreshing crisp house salad. They also have nice mood music playing to start the day. Defiantly will check this place out again in the future.

I shocked that this place isn’t crazy busy in the mornings when I come because the food is absolutely amazing! The girl who works here is the sweetest and the croissants are to die for! I have only had their breakfast sandwiches yet but will gladly come for lunch! They have a good menu and everything is fresh, farm fresh & grown and healthy.

I had a mocha and an almond croissant this morning at the Café de L’Opera. The mocha was great but despite the rave reviews of the almond croissant it was a great disappointment. Their almond croissant consists of a regular croissant with a few sprinkles of almond flakes on top of it. Inside there is no almond paste nor almond flavor. I advised the staff of this with no satisfactory answer. There are many good cafes on this site, including Starbucks, which serve the typical delicious almond croissant. I suggest you avoid this café if you want a truly outstanding or even a normal almond croissant.

Lamb sausage scramble w/bacon & cheddar($ 6.75): just a touch on the greasy side, but that is often exactly what you are looking for on a weekend morning. If you are in the mood for a croissant sandwich this is a good one. I’ll get it again. Choc-Almond Croissant($ 3.75): great flavor and texture to the croissant. A little light on the chocolate, but still good.

The spinach bagel breakfast I had there was pretty good. And the Americano coffee was great too. Got one free tummy pistachio macaron when checking in to Unilocal. The only not very satisfying thing was that there was only one person there doing serving, cashing and even cooking, making the waiting time very long.

From website: «Call or Text your Order Ahead» Texting is not an option(at least not at 5th ave), as I came to find out after texting my group order. You could at least help your employees out by providing accurate info on your website. I’m not so short-sighted as to take it out on them, but I can imagine them having to deal with hangry people arriving to pick up orders that never went through. Not nice for anyone involved. Love the food, location, and your staff, so I want you guys to do well with your business so you continue to be a breakfast option for our office, but I can imagine many people will be one and done with an experience like that. Also, STILL no option to tip on a credit card. I made sure to bring cash today, but many don’t carry it. Don’t be a jerk to your staff who is single handedly managing the Friday morning rush!

Came here for breakfast. Had a large, flakey croissant egg sandwich that was tasty and hot. The Americano coffee also was excellent. When I went there there was only one lovely lady running the counter. When she had a large influx of customers it did take a while to get our food, but it was worth the wait.

I was walking past this place and I decided to turn back around because I needed coffee so I was like hey why not try something new. I got an iced latte and the cashier/barista asked if I also wanted a freshly baked pastry. I said sure and asked her what would she recommend and she said she just made an almond chocolate croissant which they do not normally have. So I got that and it was really good!!! The perfect amount of sweet and the iced latte balanced it out. The only down side is that she said they don’t have a lot of ice but it was okay with me. The girl was very nice and friendly especially for it being the morning and pretty dead in there. The thing that did bug me was that there was flies by the pastries, but other than that this place is worth a try if you are close by.

Absolutely wonderful place to decompress, relax, take in tastes of teas. The food seems tres bien! The venue casual European French! With smoke seats and assortment of types of seats for varying types! Most importantly on both occasions Carissa(spelling?) my apologies if spelled wrong, had been gracious and epitome of a perfect manager in this venue, Reminds me of sweet pair in Palm Springs who own-operate L’Atelier! Not sure her role here and she didn’t say! Carissa even first day acknowledged me and even due to being busy she apologized to a guest for delay in tea! Perfect example to set! Tea suggestions tres burn! One can have great location, menu, wines BUT people working in establishments create vibe that gets patrons back! Tres bien Carissa and this establishment for having her! No I didn’t know or connected to get or café before yesterday’s visit! Tres bien and God bless!

Came by this on my way somewhere else, I got the passion iced tea to begin, oh my goodness, very refreshing and strong flavor. Bonus check in free macaroon I chose the salted caramel, excellent. For lunch I chose the avocado chicken Caesar salad which is amazing, pics taken. The staff is very friendly and I love to see they smile. I will for sure be back.

I love this little café in the heart of downtown — from the healthy, hearty salads to the quality espressos and chai drinks, and especially the friendly counter staff — this place is cute and quality. The desserts are amazing as well– quite decadent tarts and pastries. They do have a frequent buyers card as well, and they even gave me free drink for bringing in friends. Awesome little mom n pop shop, with outside and inside seating.

You know what, they make a mean gyro, when they put the right sauce on it. Granted, my gyro first came out with ranch sauce, but as soon as I pointed it out the gal was quick to apologize and remedy it with a new gyro with Tzatziki sauce. My friend loved her food and we enjoyed the hibiscus, unsweetened ice tea. I got my check-in deal for a free macaron, and this one was chocolate! I sacrificed it and gave it to my friend. She enjoyed it thoroughly! So, this place was cool. I have no complaints, so I’ll be back!

I’ve only had great things here! I’ve tried a few different paninis and sandwiches, which were all super good. They even have those delicious baguettes! The coffee drinks are totally on point(including a dirty chai, which I’ve found is hard to find in SD) and the fresh pastries are yummy! The place is always super clean and inviting and there’s plenty of room to spread out or come for lunch with a big group. The only downfall’s I’ve experienced is the orders can take some time, so don’t come in a rush. Although fresh and yummy, the pastry selection is incredibly minimal… otherwise, L’Opera is awesome possum!

They have great, fresh food on the go. The ladies that have helped me are very nice. I love the salad dressing, and Sandwiches. They also have fresh macaroons to satisfy your sweet tooth. Minus one star because they allow people to smoke right in front of the door. So not only do you have to walk through the stink, you have to smell it in the place because they keep their doors open.

Came here on a Friday morning for pastries and coffee. Based on the reviews, I was anxious to try the almond croissant. Since my boyfriend came also, we decided to get the almond croissant and pane de chocolate and split the two. The almond croissant had a few good reviews, and by no means was it bad– but for me, wasn’t as great as I imagined. My boyfriend and I preferred the chocolate croissant because it wasn’t as dry as the almond croissant. The coffee was pretty good as well. This was a good place to stop at and get a little breakfast. Parking can be tough, but someone had just left who was parked right out front, as we were just getting there. Good place, I would come back.

Never been to this place before and I was impressed with my first visit. Sort of funky sort of eclectic, but very relaxing. I had breakfast and it was very good. Ordered the bagel with bacon, eggs, cheese, and jalapeño. Cool place, definitely coming back here. Good quality lite fare with great service.

I always walk by but decided to stop in for lunch due to my hunger and their outdoor sign looking pretty good with some fresh eats. The bagel I had was pretty good, very tasty. Held on its own. Though I do wish they had hot sauce to enjoy with it. The espresso was also done well, very smooth consistency and taste. One thing I noticed missing was the ability to tip on their POS. So bring cash I suppose if you would like to. A great lunch overall, with excellent customer service as well from the gent behind the counter. Definitely visiting again.

I gave a previously negative review based on customer service but would like to update my review. I have been I twice since my last review and the owners were there each time. Particularly, the woman who seems to do most of the customer service. These times there was nice food and beverages and with nice smiling service. :) As such, I will go back to recommending this little joint to my friends and fellows.
