Coffee shops like this are dime a dozen in any city with a strong Vietnamese population. While the location initially threw me off, I soon realized that it makes sense as down the street on Midway, you could easily find more scantily-clad women, and, ordering a triple espresso with whip cream may actually mean some kind of table dance involving dairy products and a finger up your butt. I stopped in while getting my car washed across that street( ) and ordered to-go. I met the owner and a couple of their girls on a day where their was a handful of their«regulars» lounging about. Everyone seemed pretty chill and welcoming which was cool. Expect to pay a couple dollars more for the food/drinks as clearly you’re paying for the«ambiance» vs. the food itself.

I went there today and a sign on the door says that they are closed. Their website says the same thing. I guess they weren’t getting enough customers. What a shame. I bought their coupon from Unilocal last week too. :-(

I decided to try this place because the reviews said the sandwiches are good and I am a fan of Ban Mi. However, it is a bit pricey for what you get. I ordered the Chicken Ban Mi. The description says it comes with a pickle, but it really was a cucumber(not pickled). The chicken was sparse on the sandwich, but the bread was the best part of the sandwich. The server apologized for the lengthy wait, and was very nice. Service was attentive, they don;t favor males over females(not my cup of tea), but they were equally attentive to all customers. The price is high, but I guess you’re paying for the view(bikinis, not my thing) and it was extremely warm inside. But, it probably supports the bikini clad staff.

Randomly came in on saturday night after looking for something quick to eat. Being a fan of Bahn Mi sandwiches, I decided to give it a try. Pleasantly surprised. Though the price is a bit high for a bahn mi, it was easily compensated by outstanding service and simple genuine conversation with lovely ladies Kat and Tu. Pretty ladies, simple tasty food and a boost of caffeine. What more can you ask for?! Spoke with owner at the end of experience, he seemed genuine. Overall great impression, catchy idea and I’ll be back for the attentive service. Thanks ladies!

I went here with a friend for dinner. I had the HAPA Meal for $ 10.99. It included a footlong toasted pork banh mi, a Vietnamese coffee, and two freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. Every thing was delicious. This was a reasonable price for a dinner combo meal. The staff is incredibly friendly, both the managers and the beautiful bikini models. I was impressed by how down to earth everyone seemed. The staff went to each table to chat with the customers to see how they were doing. My friend told the manager that his soda straw was broken so the manager came out and gave us two free Aloe drinks. Incredible service! I don’t think there are any other places in San Diego with beautiful bikini servers who will play cards, giant Jenga, Connect 4, and Xbox with you.

for a vietnamese sandwhich shop I enjoyed the atmosphere the girls were doing their utmost to provide outstandingly friendly, open-hearted conversation and of course… in bikinis. My con to this establishment is no restroom, expensive sodas, and what turned me off the most was the managers girlfriend hanging out just sitting there at her laptop giving off cold vibes, I mean I am sure they have an office in the back but to sit there at a table in the corner being nonchalant delivering in cold vibes… if I as a man picked up on this a woman reading this definitely would. A manager who runs an outstanding up and coming establishment like this could at least lower the price a little, come out and say hello to a customer or two, as well as have his girlfriend smile or look a little more happy to be there instead of sitting there looking scornful behind a laptop.

Lovely Bikini waitress that love to mingle… Hooters is nice but they try to sell you calandersm t-shirts etc… Café Hapa they want to play free video games and have a good time. Just a cool place to hang out. Nice to see a independent shop that stands out for a change of pace

Ok we’re to begin chicks in bikinis serving you. Great idea only having 2 different sandwiches that take at least 10min. To make ehhh and at $ 8.99 too pricy as well as the drink options only a few and expensive. Of they had a beer and wine license maybe would spend some more time there. and no public restrooms? Overall need more food options a restroom and if possible beer and wine and id go back. why am i not surprised to see this place closed!

I decided to check Café Hapa, after reading a review about there being giant jenga. The bikini baristas were attractive and were very friendly with there service. The proprietor makes it a point that it not like those Vietnamese café’s up in the OC. So if your a pervert, then its best to take your business elsewhere. Pros: A check-in special of free cookies with purhcase of a drink. Free wifi A variety of games to play such as connect four, Jenga, war and XBox Good service, was given a heads up that my friends coffee was going to take awhile A tasty twist to an Arnold Palmer. . Cons: No public washroom, so if you have any business to take care of it ahead of time. Limited menu, which may not appeal to all people. Being barred from playing jenga as a piece slipped out of my hand and flew to the otherside of the room almost hitting another patron. Overall: A good place for groups to chill, if your looking to study or just interested in shooting the breeze by playing a few games. Yes, the drinks could be a little cheaper, but when considering the alternates in the area without venturing to Kearny Mesa it’s a deal.

Take the smoking hot bikini models out of HAPA and it’s still one of my new favorite spots to hang out and play or get some work done. Free wifi… check Giant Jenga… check Xbox…check Bomb banh mi sandwiches… check Tasty thai iced tea… check Refreshing aloe drink… check The only negative I can really recall is the fact that customers aren’t allowed use their restroom. Kind of annoying if you you’ve been drinking their beverages all day, but I guess it’s a necessary rule in order to keep the perverts out.

Café Hapa was excellent! Beautiful girls who yes are in bikinis and great food! I had the pork sandwhich which has a tender marinated meat with a little bit of kick, and just the right amount of veggies. Ice cream sandwhich was awesome with warm chocolate chip cookies and a delicious ice coffee to wash it down. Friendly staff and good times!!!

I honestly do not understand this place, its location, menu, prices or staff. Who pays $ 4.99 for a single soda? Why are the sandwiches so over priced when they are nothing more than mediocre? Why are the choices so limited? Why do the cookies take so long to be served? Why are the staff so uncomfortable in their bikinis? Why are the customers all sleazy men? Just my initial thoughts… but then really, why aren’t the windows tinted when this place is in a quiet family strip mall? Simply dumbfounded.

Sandwiches were pretty good. It was some of the better Vietnamese sandwiches I’ve had. However, it is on the pricey side. $ 8.99 for a sandwich of this size is not really worth it. Obviously, part of the price is attributable to the fact that you are paying for the view. However, I’m not a dude and I’m not a lesbian, so the price is not justified in my mind. The girls are cute and sweet. Service is good. I dig the giant Jenga and the board games.

1 star if you’re going bc you’re hungry. i’m of the thought that if you’re going to have 1 food item on your menu(or 2 if you count pork and chicken separately) it should be absolutely delicious. and it shouldn’t take 20 minutes to make a few sandwiches my sandwich was sub par. not terrible, but sub par. and expensive! bahn mi should be $ 2.50−3.00,not $ 9! but if you’re going for an experience then i guess i get it… i would just have liked another option or 2 my cookies were good though, and so was my iced green tea(but that probably came from a can) the girls were sweet and friendly. the other patrons were mostly creepy.

Awesome fun. I’m vietnamese and the coffee and sandwiches are pretty legit, but let’s be honest the view was awesome. Girls bring you tasty treats to your table in bikinis. Pretty straight forward reason to go, I don’t care who you are.

other reviewers have focused on the sandwiches, but how can you forget the freshly baked chocolate chip cookies! warm and bright atmosphere, and they had GI Joe vids playing on the big screen tv when i was there. staff is very friendly. yes, they’re women in bikinis, but whatever, they keep it classy and will chat you up or challenge you to jenga while your cookies bake and your bahn mi is prepared. not meant to be a quick stop, although they do have to-go. great new spot to grab coffee with quality sammies and deserts! try it out!

I went in expecting the worst, but how can I honestly expect the worst when there are bikini models involved? I cannot. What I found was a quaint coffee shop atmosphere with free wifi and scantily clad women – so inviting, so eager to please me – serving me coffee. I know, before you think trash, step above strippers, remember that this place is about promoting beautiful girls with modeling careers, working their way through college. Not like Hooters, not like Deja Vu. These girls aren’t in it for the money(well I’m sure that doesn’t hurt), they are so friendly and I’m amazed at how the owners run the place. They’ve been open a mere few weeks and have already built up quite a following. I’m excited to see this place grow and become a San Diego fixture. The negatives are the location, but I’m sure it’ll become more of a destination hangout than anything else. It’s not quite off the beaten path, so it’s easily accessible. The atmosphere is just so warm and inviting, and the staff is so helpful and fun — and the scantily clad beauties is just eye-candy. Honestly they don’t even need to be in bikinis because they’re just nice people that you wouldn’t mind hanging out with or playing a game of Jenga with, which is what I did and got my ass handed to me. What was going to be a quick stop for coffee turned out to be an hour long conversation about randomness and a definitely enjoyable experience! I love when places surprise you like that, so it’s definitely a 5-star experience to me, and definitely not expected from a tiny strip mall by my parent’s house. Recommend for the atmosphere, and quaint, cozy feel. Recommend to work, play, and hang with friends, or make new ones! Not recommended for going only because you want to see naked girls and to be a pervert. They take that shit seriously.

I went into Café Hapa yesterday to see what the fuss was about and before I even reached the door I was welcomed and invited in by girls in bikinis and was sat down and handed a menu and felt very welcomed and comfortable there. I sat there and enjoyed a Vietnamese coffee as I played cards and jenga with the girls. the time I was there I spoke to the owners who where very nice positive and down to earth people who have the right intentions and I would recommend Café Hapa to anyone.

(Servers in bikinis? Hmmm, hope they can stay warm on the chilly days!) Woohoo! A new Vietnamese sandwich place in the shopping center where the CVS and Souplantation are. They just opened three days ago so it was just good luck, instinct, and the horrendous busy-ness/lack of parking in Ocean Beach on a sunny Sunday that led me here. In fact I was on my way to Wahoo Fish Tacos when I spotted this one and decided to stop in here instead. From the outside I thought it was maybe a Hookah Lounge, haha! Vietnamese Coffee is about $ 4.99, sandwiches, pork or chicken, are $ 8.99. There are other drinks on the menu, too, all about the same price. I got the pork sandwich and it was delicious. The baguette was fresh, crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, fresh cilantro and cucumbers, a touch of mayo, tender excellently seasoned pork with just enough succulent fat left on it to make it interesting and intensify the flavors. I want to go back to try the chicken sandwich. The only downside was it seemed a little dry at first, but I soon forgot that while I was relishing the flavor. I debated between 4 and 5 stars but ended up deducting one because the TV had a violent movie on and I looked up at it once to see a bloody face and another time to see a deformed person, not very appetizing. Oh, and did I mention the waitresses are in bikinis? Don’t let that throw you, they are as sweet and cheerful and conversational as can be. Overall I really liked this place and hope they do well!
