Like someone said earlier it is now Mexican food. However, it is still very good and delicious. It seemed kind of slow and it was only a man and maybe his wife working. They were very nice people and friendly. I ordered the carne asada burrito and it tasted very authentic. Not greasy or fatty like other places. I recommend you go try it out. Their spinach juice was also something unique. It was citrusy and not pulpy. I loved it. Good prices too.

I’ll be the first to break everyone’s hearts, this place is now mexican food!!! I came here so excited to try a veggie plate, only to find out it is something else. I did, however, still order from here because I didn’t have time to go somewhere else(even though I really didn’t feel like mexican food). I ordered a veggie burrito and it tasted fresh. The rice and beans tasted home made and not heavy or greasy like other places. They seem to have good prices &10% off if you’re a student. The guy was really sweet and it seemed like business was slow so go check them out! It can’t hurt!

This might be the best Mediterranean food I’ve ever had. Made scratch from fresh ingredients. My picky son are something other than Chx fingers and fries. We both loved the meatballs. It’s worth seeking out even though it’s in an unlikely location for this quality of food.

The paninis are the best and burritos are good too. We got samples of kale salad and hummus and that was amazing, never thought I’d like those till now ! Awesome service too at a great price

Delicious Mediterranean Food at a great price! I had to quickly pick up lunch for a doctors meeting so I stopped in at Café Med as its right across from our building. I chose gyros sandwich’s and combination plates of selected specialities. Everything was excellent! From the falafel to the roasted eggplant, the tabbouleh to the baklava for dessert… delicious! I’m happy to have found such a convenient restaurant that puts emphasis on healthy, fresh food prepared deliciously! Thank you Café Med… I’ll be back!

Went here for breakfast with my six and one year old. Wasn’t sure what I wanted but when he suggested falafel wrap, that was all I needed to hear! It was amazing, and he suggested a side I’d never had before, crushed wheat with lentil? It was delicious! The kids loved it. I loved how nice, accommodating, and social the guy was and how great and healthy the food was. Definitely going again! Vegan friendly.

Delicious and reasonably priced. The best dolmas and tzatziki I’ve ever had. Although they don’t have lamb kabob, their chicken is outstanding and makes up for it. I was a little uncomfortable by the gal serving me giving me a little extra, but the food was fabulous. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a delicious bite in the area. Editing my review for this tip… A little tricky to find, be on the lookout for their photo/color street side sign about 4′ tall by 3′ wide staked into the ground.

Dropped by here earlier today. Amazing falafel! I’ve had some good falafel in my time, and this one ranks with the best. In addition, the tzatziki sauce was very well done. I’m not a big vegetable guy, but the veggies were also tasty(even the kale!). Reasonably priced($ 11 for a full plate of delicious food and a bottle of Mountain Dew). My wife and I recently moved out here from Washington D.C.(where the cost of living is insane), so my frame of reference may be a bit skewed. Definitely reasonable for D.C. Really friendly service, too. I’ll definitely be coming here again!

Surprisingly good & fresh Mediterranean food in a nondescript medical building off Alvarado Road. I came in for a coffee, I left with a multi-course vegetarian plate. Homemade stuffed grape leaves, hummus, tabouli, babaganoush, basmati rice with lentils, eggplant in tomato sauce and baked squash & veg. Did I mention the falafel? My daughter and I shared this giant plate of homemade happiness, but not until the owner gave us both a sample of his kale salad and we ended up liking that too. I may live in California but was not a fan of kale until now. They also do catering. I’m keeping the menu.

I came by today after a medical appointment that I had to fast for, so I was starving. I had found this place on Unilocal and perused through the photos and was intrigued. I was not disappointed! I got all vegetarian dishes and everything I tried was fresh tasting and delicious. I especially enjoyed the tabbouleh, hummus, and falafel. The service was also great. The girl behind the counter that greeted me was very sweet and friendly. I would definitely come back here again and try some more of their food.

My sister and I were starving and picked a random restaurant that turned out to be the BESTCHOICEEVER! The owner(the friendliest man you will ever meet) was present from beginning to end. He explained the way his food is cooked and described the fresh ingredients that are used. The kale salad is a MUSTTRY. I normally hate kale but this was way too delicious to pass up. The baklava was AMAZING btw! Love this place!

This place is great! We had a flyer from this place before and decided to finally check it out. The owner of this place is such a Sweetheart. He lets you know everything he makes is fresh! All his food is very good he let us sample a little of everything and we ended up getting a plate with the beef balls and chicken that was marinated so well! Kale salad was good. His falafel was the best! Not over cooked or anything and he’s not over priced everything was reasonable. Great little walk for lunch from the hospital. I recommend this place to everyone!

The best Middle Eastern food in San Diego. Everything is made from scratch daily. The baklava is out of this world and the food is just amazing. I’ve never tasted anything better.

Terrific food and amazing customer service. I went in for 2 gyro wraps, I was starving. While he waited for my food the gentleman that I have to assume is the owner made me a small plate so I could sample someof the other items he offered besides gyros. I will definitely be back again I’m on my second gyro now and these things are delicious. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for health Mediterranean. The people were so friendly and personable it made my day.

FREESAMPLES. oh yeah! fresh ingredients, healthy variety competitive price. 5.99−7.99 large portions for price. restaurant quality in quick service style. those are the qualities I see here. they may not all be flawless like 5 star but they definitely offer these qualities above many others. I love that I can try the food before I commit. especially sense there is a good variety to choose from. I get tired of ordering the same thing so that helps. very surprised how balanced this place is. it’s not so common to find a place that serves from personal integrity. The owner works the food as a signature of his own character. Welcoming and caring. You can tell this place has care as a service to the people not just looking to drain your money. The way the owner explains the way he cooks proves it’s like a home kitchen to him. The way you would serve your guests your own hospitality. Just like home cooking where you want the customer to be happy out of enjoyment not business. I like that even though it’s a small business it’s still clean like a chain restaurant. I recommend it for eating anytime. not a restaurant setting. but great for stop in or take out. problems: not open late for dinner. they close early. but he told me Tuesday and Thursday 6:00pm close, so that helps. the look is fresh inside but it’s surrounded by medical center so it seemed like deli at first. but don’t be fooled it’s worth trying.

WOW! Huge servings! My plate was delicious!!! Kale, grape leaves, hummus, beans, rice blend, veggies, and a few more items… all on one plate. The gentleman who owns the restaurant is so very nice too! Very warm and inviting! Just read the inspiring philosophy’s written on signs on the windows! Speaks volumes about the kindness and sincerity of this café! Lots of vegan/vegetarian options! Woo Hoo! I’m vegan, and super happy to have a new place to eat!

Who said healthy food can’t be delicious? Located in the Alvarado medical center sits Café Med, this delicious Mediterranean café.(Get the pun? Haha) I got the plate with the kofta(kinda like meatballs), roasted eggplants, parsley salad, and tzaziki sauce. It all tastes so fresh and healthy. Its not oily or too salty which I love. What makes this place even better is the staff and owner. They’re so friendly and nice! Come check it out for bfast or lunch :)
