If you have an hour lunch or less, avoid this place. This is the second time here and getting our drinks took 15 minutes. Keep in mind, this place was not crowded. Service slow and food slower. The menu states to be patient for good food. But folks, a salad shouldn’t take so long. Good happy hour prices, so come when you have the time.

Was good. Got the meatlovers pizza and it was okay. Nothing fantastic. Service was good, not too busy. Can’t say I’ll be back soon because they didn’t impress me enough that I’ll go out of my way. San Diego has so many incredible restaurants and I like looking for new ones to try out for lunch.

I was staying at a friend’s over the recent holidays. Being a native New Yorker I am always wary of pizza outside the city. However a couple days ago I had the urge for a pizza. I ordered on the phone for a pick-up. They were very pleasant on the phone, told me it would be about 15 minutes and have me my total $. I arrived 10 minutes later, paid, had a pleasant chat with a couple of the employees and then took the pizza back to the apartment and to my surprise I had a great pizza. Nice sauce, right amount of cheese etc. Went back last night and had a pasta dish at the bar… highly recommended!

If you want food its an ok place to go, if you want to have a good time with a few drinks watching a game go elsewhere. Went on a Sunday night(12⁄27) and had the chicken parmesan and meatball sandwich. The food was pretty good! Although the meat balls were kind of bland. But it’s getting 3 stars because of the atmosphere. The waitress made me feel uncomfortable. I felt like talking above a whisper was frowned upon. I finished my food and got out of there to spend my drinking money elsewhere.

I ordered meat sauce spaghetti. I can’t say it’s good because they did not put enough sauce. All I can taste is the noodles. I’m disappointed :(

My fiancé and I were visiting San Diego for a weekend getaway. We got in late Friday night and didn’t feel like a fancy restaurant that would take forever. So we decided on pizza and found this place. For a Friday night, it was practically empty, maybe only a few tables occupied. But there was only one waitress for the 5 – 6 tables that were occupied and I felt sorry for her. She was running all over the place so we understood why it took a little longer than usual to get service. We ordered cheese garlic bread and a medium sized pizza. The price was average and the food was pretty good. The only complaint is that the pizza did not have enough sauce on it and the cheese bread didn’t come with marinara for dipping. On the downside, it gave both me and my fiancé bad heartburn and stomach problems that night so as long as you take some tums right after you should be good to go!

Great spot! Delicious food… The lasagna is great, the pizza sticks are fun! They have a great Happy Hour Sun-Fri 4−7… Cold beer, great food you can’t go wrong!

Excellent, consistent and affordable Italian food downtown! My Wife and I love this place! The Lasagna is Homemade authentic, they really have their sauces down pat. Great full service Bar where locals hang out to have a drink, pizza and enjoy a games on one of the many TV’s. Fast delivery as well. We highly recommend Cap’s for a low key affordable meal in the dining room with your family, some good times with your game buddies at the bar with awesome Italian fare or fast and affordable home delivery.

IF I could give them NOSTARS I would, They have the RUDEST person answering their phone by the name of JOY, well JOY brings nothing but MISERY ! I was going to order 3 large pizzas for a party, first thing she says is we dont have certain ingredients .I named what I wanted on them and each thing I asked for she RUDELY said we are out of that we are out of that then heard her cursing under her breath, NICECUSTOMERRELATION ! i then asked well what DOYOUHAVE ?? JUSTSAUCE? SHERUDELYPUTMEONHOLD! I called back and told her she has no business working in the hospitality business and should go take some classes on how to be a proper human being, I will be taking this up with the owner whomever it is he clearly in his right mind would not want someone this DERANGED answering the phone for his business. I HIGHLYRECOMMENDGOINGTOLANDINISPIZZERIA. GREATSERVICEANDGREATPIZZA. !

Definitely a 5. Great food quality and a large is plenty for four adults. It came with lots of cheese and veggies without request, felt like an extra order for the same price as a regular :) Price is not bad, 27 bucks. Come on! You just fed four for the evening look at how much a good cocktail is that last 10 minutes.

In town for a baseball game and wanted to walk from our hotel to get food. Saw this place on line. Looked reasonably priced and had decent reviews. It was myself, My husband and our 4 kids. It wasn’t busy at all. The waitress was good for the most part. We were there for awhile(small kids eating) and she seemed to give off an attitude but still did her job. Pizza was good. Kids loved their spaghetti. The calzone was okay. I wasn’t a big fan of the sausage. Over all a good place.

I’ve been coming to Cap’s for a long time, usually for lunch because it’s close to my office. The pizza tasted better when the restaurant was called Caparells(perhaps a change in management/ownership?) but now we order our pizzas with«extra sauce» which makes it better and more like Caparells’ pizza. My fave is the meatball & garlic, but(hubby ain’t too keen with the fresh garlic) we usually order the pepperoni & mushroom. The price is reasonable… around $ 18 for a 2-topping large(16-inch). I’ve asked, but never ordered, a half meatball/garlic and half pep/mush pizza but Cap’s calls that a 4-topping pizza, even though I think they’d actually give me 4 half-toppings. The other thing I absolutely LOVE here is the vegetarian sandwich(grilled eggplant, onions, bell peppers, provolone with tomato, lettuce & Italian dressing)…so delicious! The bomb bread sticks are really good too but for the price, I’d rather buy a pizza or the veggie sandwich. Salads are fresh. Service is ok. I used Caparells coupons way back when, but I don’t even look for Cap’s coupons anymore because it’s too much of a bother(there was always some reason why I «couldn’t» use it.) I’ll continue to go to Cap’s because I love their veggie sandwich and my family & I enjoy the pizza.

My boyfriend were in SD to see the Cardinals and got here late Friday night and were starving. We saw this restaurant in a dining brochure so went there. The location is really cool, in the heart of downtown SD. The restaurant is pretty nice and the staff was friendly. The food, OUTSTANDING! My boyfriend got a meat lovers pizza and I got a turkey sandwich and we both loved it. And the price is not bad at all for the portion sizes. We will def be back next time we come to SD!

If I could give no stars it would! This place is a joke. They offer a $ 5 off coupon online for delivery or dine in. Except they don’t offer delivery during the day, so I therefor had to pick it up myself and they refused to honor the $ 5 off. Talk about customer service! Oh and delivery is free, so by me picking it up myself it literally helped them. Used to always come here, will NEVER be back! Shocked a place would treat a customer like that. It’s not about the money, but the principal of the matter.

I am absolutely in love with Caps, I was on a diet and the moment my boyfriend offer to order something from Caps, I was like«screw my diet»! I know they have a very big and delicious greek salad, but omg, their Hawaiian pizza is just perfection, so much cheese dripping into my mouth, I can taste it now. They have amazing bomb breadsticks also, we are in love with the jalapeño and feta ones, Yu-um! Service is very good, kind, and quick. The food is great, and they have a good selection of drinks. My absolute favorite is the cannoli, so much cinnamon-y goodness, so delicious and creamy, I can’t ever have enough of them. That is our usual triple combo, we will be trying other stuff but our faves are Hawaiian Pizza, Jalapeño Bomb Breadsticks, and Cannoli! Caps, I love your food.

5 stars for the food, drinks, and service. 1 star for the disappointing, unprofessional, and subpar business management practices and approach by ownership.

Very delicious pizza. Ordered Chicken Alfredo, waited about 15, took it to go. I’m not the type to hangout in a bar. It does smell really bad inside like B.O. the wait staff were super friendly. I’m coming back soon. Yummy crunchy crust. Creamy sauce.

Our waitress was very pleasant. It’s right in Downtown San Diego. The food we ordered was very good, fresh, and very reasonably priced. It was actually too much for us to eat. We ended up giving one pizza to a homeless person we saw sleeping before we made it back to our hotel. They do offer free parking for their customers which we found out after we paid at the meters.

Now, I KNOW I’ve reviewed Cap’s before! When I was in school, I went here every few weeks or so for the eggplant parm sandwich. It’s $ 7.50, and is plenty big for two people or two meals. Staff is always very friendly. I hadn’t been for a couple of years, so when I was downtown today I stopped by for an eggplant parm sandwich to go. The sandwich took 20 minutes — I didn’t mind, but just FYI if you’re in a rush, you should call it in. Now, something I did mind was they wrapped the sandwich like this: Imagine taking a square of foil approximately three inches shorter than your sandwich is wide. Place the sandwich on it, so the ends are sticking out, since your foil is too small. Then, roll up the sandwich, so the ends are still sticking out. That’s how my sandwich was put in the brown bag! So, by the time I got back to work, the bottom of the bag was all wet(from the sauce), and if I hadn’t noticed, the sandwich would’ve fallen through a broken bag! Weird, and not the way I would wrap up a sandwich to go. The sandwich was just okay. I have the pleasure of living near Poma’s in O.B., and they have the BEST eggplant parm sandwiches ever, so I’m spoiled. Although Cap’s had only been open 20 minutes when I went in, the eggplant didn’t seem very fresh. The bread, cheese, and the sauce(especially) was all great though. Fresher eggplant could really up their sandwich game. I’d def go back if I was downtown, but wouldn’t choose Cap’s over Poma’s.
