Ordered a bean tostada and asked for light pico de gallo because they tend to put a ton of it on orders. But last I checked, light pico de gallo doesn’t translate to small five small cubes of tomatoes. I didn’t think the staff was this clueless. This place used to be my go to for simple, cheap Mexican food. The last time I came here, there was a strong smell of marijuana coming from the kitchen and the server who stands at the cashier slightly resembling a scare crow decided that it would be appropriate to call me an extremely rude name in Spanish as she told the cook my order. I was sure I wouldn’t come here ever again, but decided to give them one more try as to support small local businesses, however once again; they’ve failed at something so simple. It’s definitely worth it to spend a couple more dollars and drive a few more miles to get better service and better tasting Mexican food elsewhere in the area.

Absolutely disappointing! I’ll be taking the drive to another spot. Paid $ 2.50 for extra carne on my carne fries, opened it up to see what appeared to be the regular amount. Spoke to Anna over he phone and I was surprised she completely blew me off and did not bat one eye. Instead of making it right with the few options she could have came up with to correct the issue she lacks empathy and any connection to be made with their return customers! Having someone work in customer service that is lacking such customer service should be very concerning to the business owners. I wasn’t asking for anything for free, wasn’t asking for a refund or exchange… Just asking for a little extra carne!

I live not far away and thought I’d try it — like so many others, the judging comes from how good the carne asada is, so I ordered a burrito to go. Took a while(good sign) and the pico de gallo was fresh, as was the salsa verde. Will definitely go back for more.

When you first walk into this shop, your expectations may go down. Don’t let this happen. Their food is extremely good and well made, there isn’t the slightest issue of poor quality. Anything fried has a good crisp taste to it and anything grilled has great flavor. The vegetables taste fresh, and everything is put together well. Walking into this shop is extremely humbling. You walk in and you see a hardworking family, ready to take on whatever the world will throw at them, and it’s admirable. Impeccable service, great tasting food.

Found this place when I was going to Tuk Tuk Thai next door and I picked up a menu. Last week I went to try their Carne asada burrito as I have yet to find a decent Taco shop in Oak Park… Yahtzee!!! This place is great. Unlike a lot of taco shops, they wait until the carne asada is ordered before cooking it so the meat always comes out perfect. Not fatty, not burnt and not greasy. A carne asada burrito is how I judge all taco shops and this place is my second favorite in San Diego(have tried at least 50 places). My all time favorite is in North PB called Los Dos Pedro’s. Have been back 4 times since first going last week and it is consistent every time. Great find and close to home. If I could suggest or change one thing it would be to make the red sauce slightly less watery. Tastes great but is just a personal preference

This place has been around for a few month and I was surprised it had not been reviewed, so I figured I give it a gander. I tried their adobada burrito for $ 4.50 which was of average size.( ) I really enjoyed the flour tortilla of the burrito, not to mention the tender pork and sauce inside. The flour tortilla had a good butter texture and great flavor. The pork inside had been rendering down to a fork tender. The burrito was filled with the pork, pico de gallo, and guacamole.( ) All which were good, but the star was no doubt the saucy tender pork.( ) The adabada was rich id flavor with a small spicy kick, but not much, that was left to their hot sauce, which was quite good. The place is small but big on flavor. They also serve soups but only on the weekends. The owner, also owns Fred’s Burgers up in Alpine, so they also offer burgers and fries as well.
