CEVA Freight

My Beloved and I recently purchased a dining room table and chairs from Overstock, who used a freight company, CEVA Freight LLC, to deliver the purchase to our home.
Delivery was arranged by phone a few days ahead, for between 8 and 12, and Jimmy and his assistant arrived at 10 a.m. They were polite, neatly attired in company uniforms and well-​organized.
Peering into our dining room, where I asked Jimmy to place our four boxes, he noted white carpet and suggested that dirt on the boxes might cause damage. He recommended placing them on the tile in our kitchen, instead. I appreciated his attention to detail, and took his advice.
Once they had unloaded the truck, Jimmy presented my paperwork. Two of the boxes had punctures in them, which I didn’t expect would affect the contents, but since the terms of delivery specified that I write «subject to inspection» on the airbill, I did that (as Jimmy acknowledged the damage), accepted my copy, and the guys from CEVA were on their way.
Overstock is smart to use this company, and I’m glad they did. I’ve experienced awkward moments with delivery services in the past. CEVA, in the persons of Jimmy and his helper, were a pleasure to work with.
