I’ve been here numerous times and the customer service and food are excellent. Most of the time I get the Fried Teriyaki Chicken Plate with all rice. Sometimes the place gets busy though, so it takes time for your food to be made. I would most definitely recommend this place.

Hmm. This place has good food. But there are some inconsistencies that keep it from being 5 stars. One, the restroom is like outside and around the corner? Never been, but outside restrooms for non gas stations scare me. Two. These people and their sauce. It starts with a F and I’m always butchering it. It really makes the meal and when I first started coming here maybe in 2010 or 2009 they sold it by the bottle. From what I can see, this never happened again. Thankfully, now they’ve at least figured a system where you can buy it. It’s in a styrofoam cup though so not ideal for the long haul. As the years go on, the consistency of the food seems to have gone up. As well as the service. But there’s always something unavailable. Today it was loyalty cards. I never thought I would be into Islander Food as I’m pretty much a meat and potatoes kind of woman. But I love their BBQ chicken plate with red rice and their macaroni salad. The red rice took some getting used to at first, but now I’m hooked. Because this place isn’t exactly convenient from Hillcrest, I often get 2 plates to go. Their prices have increased a pretty good amount over the years, but if that’s what keeps the quality up, I’m all for it. The BBQ Chicken plate is about $ 10.50. It is very filling. Random fact: Their sodas are kind of expensive? I would recommend getting your food to go then drinking at home or getting a large soda at McDonalds for $ 1. If you sign up for their mailing list, they do send you offers and a coupon for your birthday. Nice people and I hope this location is open forever. I find it to be better than L and L.

Yum! My family became US citizens via Guam so I’m no stranger to Chamorro food. This spot is somewhat out of the way of things but if you do make it out here, get that chicken kelguen with red rice and have a good meal. Thank goodness San Diego has a spot like this when you’re looking for that island flavor.

I was really excited to try this place because a Filipino/Hawaiian joint? How bomb does that sound? And it was a lot closer to me than driving the 25 minutes to National City to my usual Filipino joint– Tita’s Kitchennette. I was left disappointed though. Their food is okay. I ordered their combo plate of short barbecue ribs, with their infamous red rice, pancit, coleslaw, macaroni salad, and a side of beef lumpia. First of all, their lumpia is not that good. I could have made better. It wasn’t very flavorful. Their sauce for it was the usual tasting one. Second, their famous red rice taste so bland. It’s also mushy for my taste. I thought it was going to be regular dry rice kind of texture. Instead you get this sticky orange(not red) blob that taste like nothing. Their pancit however was the only thing I find tasteful, and their coleslaw is coleslaw. Who cares for those irrelevant veggies. Okay, let’s talk about their barbecue short ribs. I like that they give you a good serving. Usually places will give you two or three pieces. They gave me four pieces of the short ribs and it was actually pretty good. Nothing out of this world but it taste how it should. As for drinks, they only offer bottle soda and canned drinks that is was overpriced and find yourself drinking all of it before your order makes it to the table. YES!!! The wait for my food took a LONG ass time. Expect to wait 30 minutes at LEAST. Overall, I was left let down and I probably won’t be back. First and last time here.

This place can get pretty pricey. But I did enjoy the food. I could be bias since it was my first time eating Guamanian food so I dont have much experience in that department. But the place isnt just Guamanian, it’s basically island fusion. I really liked the red rice and the short ribs had a good flavor. I also got a chance to try the chicken kelaguen which I liked as well. It somewhat almost slighty reminded me of the Filipino dish sisig.

I love this place! I was stationed in Guam for 3 years and always loved going to Chamorro village. This place is so full of flavor just like I remember. The short ribs and chicken were grilled perfectly. It can take a while to get your food when busy but I believe it is worth the wait. If you have the chance to check this place out it you definitely should!

This place was alright. Nothing special. I ordered the kadun pika which was good and it came with red rice and macaroni. It’s also a Guamanian spot, not only a Filipino and Hawaiian. I just came here because I was craving red rice and I haven’t had it in years. Overall, it was good, but nothing to rave about. I guess if I lived in the area, I’d come back but I don’t. At least this place was in a plaza with parking so that’s another plus. Oh how I loathe street parking. Check it out if you’re craving island food, and if you live around here. Just know it’s not the best spot for Hawaiian/Filipino/Guamanian food.

I am currently addicted to Chamorro Grill’s Chicken Kelaguen with all red rice! I went two days in a row… YES, it’s THAT good! I love the acidic, lemony flavor of the chicken and the spice of the red rice is perfect! They also serve a good selection of Hawaiian food that I have yet to try. Maybe after my current addiction! My uncle tried the kadun pika and the bf tried their loco moco, they both enjoyed their meals! They also sell Mexican coke and fantas! Customer service here is on point! The ladies in the front know what they’re doing! It’s located in a strip mall with other food joints, but I definitely recommend this place! I will be back soon, chicken kelaguen!

I’ve been eyeing this place for quite some time, but sadly it fell short of expectations. I was looking for something more unique on the menu, so I went with the kadun pika or braised chicken in spicy coconut sauce. Overall, the dark meat chicken was very moist, but the sauce(more like Thai curry consistency) fell flat on flavor. It just tasted spicy as it burned down my throat. The rice and the mac salad was the best part of the meal. Although the rice was soft and light, it was packed with a lot of flavor. The mac salad was probably one of the best mac salads that I’ve had in San Diego. If I’m ever in the area again, I might be back.

Calling this place«Chamorro» Grill is a bit of a misnomer seeing as, by their website’s own admission they serve a mix of food from Guam(Chamorro), the Philippines, and Hawaii. Thus you’ll find dishes from kelaguen to pancit to kalua pork. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t just a wee bit disappointed that the menu didn’t focus more heavily on dishes unique to Guam because honestly I have very familiarity with their food, and I was looking to expand my horizons. Ironically, I ended up deciding to order the Filipino-inspired pork adobo. Which I really wish I could say I loved, because the sauce itself tasted pretty great, but the pork was just exceptionally tough and therefore unappetizing. Ultimately and tragically, the side of rice was probably the best part of the meal. Summary: I probably won’t go back fro cha-more.

WHOA, Chamorro Grill how you were so deceiving at the Pacific Island Festival! I remember two years ago, I went to PIFA and was very curious about this Chamorro Grill because the line was INSANE! I sure didn’t want to stand in line so I thought, Okay I’m going to have to give this place a try during my personal time. My cousin got married last Friday and we had a 4 hour leeway time before the reception started, in which was a very short distance from Chamorro Grill. A group of 12 of us decided to mob to Chamorro Grill to get some grub before 6pm. We walk in at around 3:45, with a few people in there waiting for their TO Go orders(interesting). OHMY why is that menu SOOOHARD to read? The font could have at least been a good 24 font on a 7 ft wall. Umm… okay let me squint and make sure I order something delicious. Since there was 12 of us, we ended up ordering 4 plates to accommodate all of us. Mind you there were 2 young kids with us, that were VERY hungry. TICK, TICK, TICK, it is now 4:30…where is our FOOD!!! Someone in our party went up to the front to ask what was the hold up. She responded with it will be ready in 10 mins, HUH we just waited 45 mins and another 10 mins? So we were getting pretty impatience. FINALLY, 4:45 all the food arrives. With disappointment on everyone’s face the food was NOT what we expected– 5 pieces of chicken and 2BBQ short ribs and we waited an HOUR!!! Oh and can’t forget about the side salad(WTH?!?) Long story short, We will never come here again! I guess they do get all the business from PIFA. Sorry, not recommended. Note to owner: get right and get tight on the service, bc the sign you have on the door does NOT do any justice!

Chamorro Grill is a little restaurant that serves Chamorro, Hawaiian, and Filipino food. I have never had Chamorro food before, so decided to give this place a try. I think it is better than L&L bbq, with similar portion sizes. I had the Kahlua pork with red rice. I also tried the latiya, pork adobo, pancit, and lumpia. All were good except I did not care for the red rice. It had a very smoky flavor that I did not like. I tried to cut the flavor with siracha, soy sauce, and the little sweet and sour sauce they serve you. I couldn’t fix it and it was just bad. I’m not sure if that’s what it is supposed to taste like. If so, I will pass on this in the future. I don’t like my rice to taste like campfire. Kahlua pork was tasty. Shredded pork with cabbage mixed in. I would definitely order this again. The pork adobo was larger pieces of pork, that were marinated and tender. A bit salty, but very good. The pancit was very good. I usually don’t care for this dish, I’m just very picky about it. I would actually recommend their version. The lumpia was a bit small. It was long and skinny with meat inside. Lastly, I had the Latiya for dessert. This is a slice of pound cake with a vanilla custard and cinnamon on top. The flavor reminded me of horchata in food form. It was surprisingly good. After trying this food for the first time, I would eat here again. Next time I will opt for white rice instead of red, and I would like to try some of their other dishes.

Called in our order of pancit and lumpia bowl with an extra order of lumpia since there was a long wait last time. Today we were only quoted a 10 min wait. …Well, we got detoured by 85C and stopped by the bank before getting there, so no surprise, our lumpia were no longer hot and crispy. $ 4.50 for 5 lumpia and $ 7.50 for the bowl… Decent flavors but a little overpriced for the quantity.

I love bbq food and this restaurant hits the spot every time! I always get the mix combo plate. I prefer bbq short ribs and pork ribs with red rice and macaroni salad. Both their ribs are cooked perfectly. Not too dry and deliciously flavored. I LOVE their red rice. It’s basically spiced rice, almost looks like mexican rice. It just has really good flavor as well. Their macaroni salad is really good too, but a little bit scarce because they give you only one scoop of mac salad, but two scoops of rice. I also tried the seafood plate. The fried shrimp was really crunchy and delicious. Even the fish was lightly battered and good as well. My only complaint is that they need some air conditioning or some ventilation in this place!!! It was super hot and we were all sweating. Other than that, food is BOMB!

If you know me, you know I’m not one to pass up a hearty meal. I’m talkin about meat, noodles, and rice. Maybe throw in a little fried somethin somethin and now you’re talkin my language. I stopped in for some lunch and Chamorro Grill delivered. The service was friendly and full of smiles. We arrived around two and missed the lunch crowd. I ordered the BBQ chicken bowl with red rice and pancit along with an order of lumpia. My son, the carnivore, ordered two orders of spam a la carte with a scoop of rice. This came out to six slices, you should’ve seen his face! He did start dancing at the table, his joy over spam is truly a sight to behold. My chicken was great, it had a nice char on it, but was still tender and moist. It was served on a bed of shredded cabbage, very tasty. The pancit was also good. The lumpia was okay, nothing special there, I’ve definitely had much better, but it wasn’t terrible. It was clean inside when we came. I noticed a water pitcher with iced cucumber water and cups for customers, a nice touch. They also have a couple refrigerated beverage coolers with sodas and bottled water. There is quite a bit of inside seating available as well as lots of parking here.

By far the best place to get Kalua pork and chicken keleguen. This is the only place I go for it. I live in pQ, but will drive here for it. They have keleguen masubi also. Yummy! Their red rice is great. Shoot everything they make is great! My husband loves that they are Steelers fans. That’s a plus for him. Highly recommend this place

Yummm… Chamorro food! Of all the chamorro places ive been too… I’m never disappointed. Its like they have the same chef for all locations. The food all taste the same… good. Its not one where you can say«the chammorro food on so & so street is better than blah blah street, or blah blah street makes better kaleguen than so & so street» Anyways. glad to know its close to my home and next door to my hula class! woot woot!

Unilocalers complain that the food comes out slow– but they have a sign inside that tells you they grill to order. If they’re already telling you it’s going to be a hot minute, don’t act brand new. Customer service was great. The food was good, but not memorable. It was a bit bland. **Quick Tip: no restroom.

I’m sad to say this place has gone downhill for me. The red rice has changed, and it was much better before. Customer service has gone downhill. I stood at the counter for nearly 10 minutes while the expediter yelled at the kitchen loudly about how they were doing everything wrong. The meal I ordered came with a drink, and all they have is soda or bottled water or tea. I wanted to get a can of tea and was told it was more. I don’t drink soda & I have a water machine at my desk, so I said I just didn’t want anything. It would have been nice for them to let me take the can of tea. I mean, I tipped on a pick up order, would it really break the bank to just let me have it? Or give me $ 0.50 back? anything? nope. So, it looks like I probably won’t be back again, since I came for the red rice and the nice service I typically get. Oh well.

The menu board on the wall is hard to read…(small print and my bad eyes! LOL) Other than that the food hit the spot! I love Island style foods. It reminds me of home. The red rice was good. The pork adobo was almost like home cooking. Their meat lumpia is served with sweet chili sauce. The lumpia was crispy and fresh. Thumbs up! I also have tried their pancit, it was really tasty the only thing missing was that I like have calamansi squeezed on top of it. I definitely went home with leftovers… and cant wait to go back and to explore more of their menu. This place is located near Mission Gorge and Friars Road. Stop by and give it a try!
