Oh how I miss you Chef Tony… Where have you gone? Nobody can make a delicious chicken shawerma salad like you. Nobody makes magical lamb kefta like you. Nobody makes spicy beef shawerma like you. I miss your Fatoush salad and your falafel pita wraps. I miss your baba ganoush and pickles but most of all, I miss your smiling face, your wife Suzy and your kids, and our conversations. If anybody knows where Chef Tony’s Mediterranean Cuisine has gone, please drop me a message. Mystic is fine and all, but does not compare.

If you want authentic, tasty, and quick lebanese food served with a smile by the chef himself, then chef tony is the man with the master plan. This small café located near sdsu is never really crowded which I find extremely odd. Everything, including the dishes are done by the hardworking man who the café is named after. If something is not to tony’s specifications, he will quickly whip up a fresh batch whether it be his addictive baba ganoush, labane, or lebanese salad. All of his schwarmas are generously filled with fresh meat, homemade pickled parsnips and garlicky hummus. You will not be disappointed guaranteed! It is ten times better than mamas lebanese bakery in Northpark whose kafta tasted more like kaka… If I wanted butthole, I would travel 5 blocks west to Hillcrest.
