Excellent service, real nice folk working here. A little hole in the wall joint but the food is definitely good! Got the vegetable low mein and walnut shrimp. Both were above par compared to places like Panda Express. Just beware, the location is right on the border of gas lamp so parking may be tight! I parked at Horton plaza and walked over.

I’ve never been in the restaurant physically, but every time I order Chinese food delivery. I order from this place. The food is always tasty, warm, and prepared with attention to detail. They apply up-charges to certain specifications, but you’re definitely getting what you pay for. In other words, if you order extra beef in your beef fried rice, you are definitely getting extra beef. The majority of the deliveries are performed by the same delivery guy. He is quite polite and remembers details about former orders(my building has a entry code that he remembers every time).

I am a little iffy about the 4 stars. They should get 1 star for customer service and 5 stars for the actual food. Been there many times and it never seems to be the best waitress but THEBESTFOODEVER! I usually call it in and take it home with me after work because i don’t want to be rushed when i’m eat by the waitress My mom and boyfriend love the place as well, will always recommend when asked for a great Chinese restaurant! GREATPRICESTOO! The man is really nice though But the cashier is pretty laid back and not really i to his job. But get some good food here

I don’t know why people complain about this place. This place is exactly as it’s marketed, New York style Chinese. It super straight forward, unpretentious, and crazy DELICIOUS! Plus, it’s half the price of any other place downtown, and has the most adorable delivery guy. I’ve eaten too much stuff here to recommend just one thing, because everything I’ve had is really good. But, I always get their egg drop soup, and some other type of noodle soup.

We’ve had this place for delivery and take out 3 times now because they’re open late. That said, not again. The food is truly lackluster and nothing to remember. It’s edible, it’s hot, it’s kind of Chinese — but truly no flavor. Best to find something else for late night eats.

Our very last dinner in San Diego. Ok, the place ain’t fancy at all. BUT, the service was friendly and the food fresh and tasteful! In fact, it was absolutely delicious! A very good dinning experience!

We ordered 2 lunch specials and a Won Ton Soup. The lunch special I had was the Kung Pao Chicken, it had plenty of peanuts, water chestnuts, and onions; It also had a decent amount of chicken. It was exactly what I expected for the rice and entrée, I didn’t know it also came with a spring roll and a soda, that was a total plus we both enjoyed. For the price we paid we had an amazing meal. It had a big home feeling. My boyfriend had the orange chicken special, which he very much enjoyed. He said you could really taste and feel the orange. In reality we just wanted cheap Chinese food, and well this was perfect.

Just had takeout front this Chinese restaurant. We really enjoyed the takeout. The staff is friendly and the food was delicious. We will be coming here again… Orange chicken was amazing!!!

I have been getting the lunch specials delivered since«2001». They are the best and you can’t beat the price!

Not good and best avoided if you want an even passablemeal in an even average setting. I had the wor won ton noodle soup lunch special. Pretty much a flavorless bowl of starch with some greens, and a few small pieces of chicken and shrimp. With equally flavorless hot tea. Décor and service are depressing, with the ambiance of a government run soup kitchen in China. Much better meal at the Chinese restaurant on the top level of Horton Plaza, as much as I equally detest that shopping center, though for very different reasons.

Insanely horrible service. All seemed well and good, until we got our order in hand. They had written the correct menu item number L-8 on the boxes, but what was inside, was not broccoli beef. It was some sort of almond chicken. So we call, they argue, they tell us they didn’t send that. We’re like, OK, well, you sent us SOMETHING and it wasn’t what we ordered. We get off the phone expecting thats the end of it, they will just send our Brocobeef and be done. Nope. We end up on the phone with them again, and now they are saying the CHEF did not make almond or whatever chicken. Arguing with us AGAIN. Holy crap, what happened to the customer is always right? Worst service EVER. They finally agree to send us a corrected order, get here, ask for the other food back, AND check in front of us if we ate any. What the flying fuck?! Rudest people, worst customer service ever, and just plainly a bad experience dealing with these people. Yeah, if at all possible, San Diego will be better off if this place closes its doors.

Where to even begin with this place… ugh. We ordered 3 meals. Orange chicken, and two beef dishes. That’s where everything went wrong. What happened next was right out of a worst case scenario. The food was late to arrive Wrong food was delivered Attitude on phone when asking for replacement Argue that the order was correct Told I need a receipt even though delivery guy did not give me one After finding my order in «the system» they offer to send the correct food. Called 40 minutes after the replacement was promised and«order is just now being made» finally get the food 2 and a half hours after we initially ordered. The delivery person checked the old food in front of me to make sure we didn’t eat any of it.(What? You have to throw it out anyway!). The food was soggy, cold, and genuinely looked to have been… thrown together quickly and with very little regard to taste. The food was flavorless, bland, and completely disgusting. I so not suggest getting take-out here.

Quick, tasty delivery. Important note… we were impressed at the taste and texture of their meat(both the beef and chicken) given most Chinese restaurants usually struggle getting either to resemble anything recognizable. They aren’t fibbing either when they say their shrimp are big! We ordered honey walnut shrimp(super bomb), beef and broccoli(BF loved it), Mongolian Beef(not bad, not great either…), Chicken chow mein(it was ok… wouldn’t order it again though) 2-in-1 soup(ehhhh…) and fried and steamed rice. Total: $ 44.10…more than reasonable given how much food we got. All in all we’d definitely order again and likely stick to two entrees as that would be more than enough for us

So in my quest to find decently priced Chinese food with generous portions I thought I would try this place. I have seen their to go menu in my lobby several times before. In addition my curiosity had been sparked after walking by their grungy little storefront. Totally reminded me of restaurants in downtown Chicago my dad ordered from when I was little. I would really give them a 3.5 for the free delivery don’t have that option to put it. The food it’s self was fairly good(surprisingly from the reviews I read) We ordered delivery. The lady on the phone was ok but she forgot my wonton noodle soup! They didn’t charge me for it so I am not to upset. Now we ordered the #8 — Appetizer Combo — fried chicken wings, fried shrimp, fried wontons and egg rolls. The chicken wings were delicious. The other items were ok. Too much breeding on fried shrimp. SESAMEBEEF — it was ok, thought it was a completely other dish but it was edible WALNUTSHRIMP — Delicious! FRIEDRICE — ordered it as a side with sesame beef. It’s was just rice with soy sauce. Not a pea, green onion or egg flake in sight. Anyhow, it wasn’t amazing but not as bad as reviewed by others. Maybe it was a lucky day.

Possibly some of the worst chinese food I have ever had. I couldn’t even finish my meal. Delivery took over an hour and driver didn’t have any change. I would have been better off if it wouldn’t have shown up at all. Chicken(if it was chicken) was stringy and inedible. You get the point… avoid at all costs unless there is an emergency.

This is the best NY-style Chinese Food you’ll find in San Diego. As a New Yorker, the lunch specials remind me of home. General Tso’s chicken is my favorite. Fried rice, beef and broccoli, egg rolls, all great. I wish they had duck sauce though.

Very yummy, BBQ pork fried rice is on the money order it extra dark! War won ton soup is yummy, ask for hot oil. The BBQ slice pork is to fall down on the floor and die good!!! Oder it! I can’t lie it’s not the prettiest place, it can use a major facelift, but if it ain’t broke? Why fix it?

I grew up in NYC and this is hands down the best Chinese I’ve found in San Diego! I refuse to order from anywhere else. Claim to fame! Love this place :) Order the Orange chicken

I normally don’t rate very low unless needed but service here is terrible. Maybe it’s just my experience with one rude guy there. It was my 1st time ordering Togo and I called about 20minutes before they closed which is fine. I’ve been working in the restaurant industry, I know what is appropriate or not. When I was ordering, I was not finished telling him my order then he just hung up on me because I was asking him questions about the food or it got disconnected. So I called back cause I was sick and really needed to eat something like soup and all other places, they were closing and this place is very closed to me. After ordering everything, he ended the conversation with a rude tone«keep that in mind, we closed at 10pm» without saying thank you or anything. I was shocked and considered to not even pick up the food, just have them cook and never pick up! But, I’m not that kind of person so we picked up and made sure that my friend did not tips them. The food is just okay, nothing impressive that would make me go back. Wonton soup was sort of dull and not a lot of meat was inside the Wonton. This morning, I ate some Walnut shrimp left-over from another day, and I’m having rush or some kind of reaction right now all over my face. It so itchy. I dont know how it happened but what I ate it was just shrimp from this place. I would definitely never get food there again because of the service.
