This place is «Dive Bar», «Mexican Dive Bar». It honestly makes me think this place was just made last minute buy putting some random tables and putting a pool table in the patio with a juke box full of Mexican music, honestly it’s a house converted into a bar, the bar area is like part of the kitchen and the living room is like a idfk… So I came here after some friends wanted to go on a dive bar crawl and i honestly didn’t know what to expect when I came so if you come by don’t expect much as you really won’t get much. Honestly the staff was friendly and nice, they sell beer buy the bucket which is cheaper but my friend wanted a simple vodka soda and the girl said they only make drinks from the list so he order a screwdriver with OJ on the side, lolz It really seems like the neighborhood dive to be as everyone knew each other except us… We suck… Everyone looked at us as we were the prettiest looking guy in prison, kinda fun… They do take credit cards and parking sucks. I noticed a grill in the patio next to the pool table. I hope they make tacos, I like tacos, you should like tacos also. Idk what to rate this place. It’s not 5 star for sure. And it’s not 1 – 2 star… Idk. It’s different and I like it.

I didn’t know what I was walking into… Yep this is literally my uncle’s backyard. The name itself of this place is just perfect to describe the Je né sais quoi it has. We ordered 3 beers and 2 vodka drinks = $ 18 Jukebox was playing all the right songs so as if to make you feel you are in a foreign land called Tijuana! Our servers were very attentive. This place was almost like a «Cheers», everybody seemed to know one another. They offer a couple of food items that will accompany your beverages beautifully, because pacificos and nachos are a match made in heaven. Tuesday’s are ladies night!!! Whoot Whoot!!! There is a also a pool table room that seems like fun. I hope this little gem stays the same, it’s refreshing to find a place where you can let your hair down and to feel like family.

There is something thrilling about finding a hidden gem in your backyard, especially one that’s been around for years. I first spotted Chiquibaby’s in 2010 but for some reason never made an effort to pay it a visit. To be honest it’s not the most welcoming from the outside and with no reviews for the place prior to May of 2015, I had no idea what I’d be walking into. So, a few weekends ago when a small group of us were looking for something a bit off of the radar, I took us to outer space… When I walked through the front door I was shocked. I expected a run down room with a dirt floor, old artwork on the walls, a rugged clientele and and Mexican music on the juke. I’m happy to report that Chiquibaby’s delivers on two, maybe three of these expectations. The music was blaring and there were certainly some salty old-timers throwing a few back — I absolutely loved it. My love for Tijuana has made me a huge fan of these types of bars and if I didn’t know any better, you’d have a hard time convincing me that we weren’t really south of the border. They were out of the two menu items that we selected so we opted to skip grub and have beer for lunch, which is the reason I’m docking a star at this point. Let’s all keep our collective fingers and toes crossed that spots like this one don’t get gobbled up by the hip crowd and that the culture lingering under our noses is preserved for us to enjoy for years to come. Will I be back? Damn straight!

This place is an awesome dive bar if you like Mexican music! They have live Norteño on certain days and Karaōke as well. I was a bit hesitant to go in the first time, since the location isn’t all that great but once I entered the people were so nice and welcoming. Seems like mostly regulars come visit the place but it’s very friendly and have great music.
