Best service ever! I had a fancy leather dog collar that was too big for my dog, since I had ordered it on line and already sent one back that was too small I figured it would be easiest to just have it taken in a bit. Popped into to Chito’s really quick, he said no problem at all, be ready in 15 min! I came back and the collar was perfect and he only charged me $ 3.00. Great customer service, great work and very good price. Thank you Chito’s! (This was a MUCH better experience than the place in Point Loma who refused to look for my item after I lost my ticket and told me to come back in a few days then later told me it was not there anymore since it was past 60 days!!) Stick to Chito’s!

I am appalled at what I received. I dropped off a leather box for reconditioning and a replacement handle and it was supposed to be ready by August 28. This very very old family box held letters from 1908 when I rescued it from a family storage unit and was beat up but beautiful. I kept going down there and calling and they’d say next weekend next weekend. By the time I got my box on Oct 10 (ready ¹⁰⁄₈), it was pieces of scrap screwed on with crooked new holes drilled in the top and mismatched scraps of cheap Tandy leather holding on a generic precut strip of other cheap Tandy leather. They didn’t cut any shape to the scrap, match the metal color to the other rivets or even stain the scrap. They had it six weeks and it could have been done by a total amateur in an hour – and it looks truly awful. They knocked $ 15 off what they quoted me, but the antique box is ruined just from their rivet holes alone. I am furious and saddened and surprised that they didn’t just say «we can’t do that» so at least they wouldn’t permanently punch holes in an antique.

I brought one shoe for repair of the inside and a pair of shoes for the same repair and the hills. The hills were not completely worn out but i figured since i’m there might as well. These shoes were not new but gently worn. The lady up sold me on the add on «conditioning» for the pair of shoes. Please note the shoes were nude color and not meant to be shiny but had some strokes and i figured she knew what she was talking about. I came back a week later to a very poor inside show repair and darker tone shiny shoes to my surprise. What they put on my shoes made all the strokes became way more apparent. I let her know that my shoes look worse than before i dropped them off, she said to leave them and come back in a week. I came back and they were stripped of whatever solution was on them and looked horrible. She agreed they looked back and told me to come back. I came back and they looked the same as when i last left them shiny and scrapped. I also shoed the guy the similar but beautiful repair i had done in LA and HE TOLD ME TO GO BACK TO THAT PLACE AND NEVER COME TO THE STORE AGAIN. Please not I came there three times trying to work it out with them and was completely polite. He proceeded to tell me it was a matter of opinion and my opinion was wrong because he knew what he was talking about. WHEN I ASKED FOR A REFUND HE WANTED TO RIP OFF THE TWO PIECES OF LEATHER HE SLAPPED ON MY SHOES.
MY SHOES WERE IN A WEARABLE CONDITION WHEN I BROUGHT THEM AND ARE IN A NON-​WEARABLE CONDITION WHEN I LEFT. NO REFUND.

Glad olé’ faithful is still in business and only a block off the old street. I love this place and this shoe cobbling business is a trade we will soon regret not supporting. Love Chito’s and the services they do provide.
I moved two hours away and still seek this shop. They have a good eye for details and care about the overall look and feel of the shoe.

Don’t go here! The owner was beyond rude. Didn’t return my money and told me to leave the store after they didn’t complete a repair on their end. Totally unprofessional and got in my face in front of a customer. The owner has major anger problems.

Worst experience ever. This guy doesnt know customer service. Who yells at a customer? Please do not use him for the sake of proper business ethics. Go down the street to another place. He didnt ever fix my wifes heels but tried to charge me and when i simply ask about it he comes around the desk and gets in my face and then tries to literally push me out.

I brought in 3 pairs of high hills last week. They were ready today as soon as I walked in. The shoes looked great, they did what I asked for. Definitely coming back! Customer indeed satisfied!!!

So sad that shoe repair shops are few and far between these days. If you don’t buy «disposable» shoes at Payless, and really care about the quality of your shoes, then you MUST find a great shoe repair shop… Chitos is the best I’ve found. Quality service and craftsmanship at a fair price!!! I refuse to toss my $ 300+ shoes without first giving them a chance to be new again!

Great results. A little expensive compared to what I’m used to in San Francisco and LA, but the work is the best in San Diego so I don’t mind paying it.
In addition to shoe repairs, they have also fixed luggage for me with great results and much less expensive than expected.

It was my first trip there as I had to take a pair of my black leather shoes that needed to be re-​soled. After being resoled, I was very pleased with the overall results — largely due to quick, yet quality & friendly customer service, great attention to details, awesome price deal, etc. I highly recommend it!

Not very happy! I checked my work boots in for a Military Shine, the lady at the counter told me to come back the next day after 2pm and they would be done. I got there around 4pm and she said my boots wasn’t done and to give her another 30mins. I ended up waiting and being late to a place that I needed to be.
You would think paying $ 35 for a boot shine that they would have my boots ready on time. Very disappointed! Plus one boot was shiner than the other! I’m going someplace else next time.
They only have two people working in the shop and they seem to be crazy busy. Maybe they should hire and extra hand to help.

This is the best shoe repair place ever! I had the clasp on a beautiful pair of Coach booties break off after two wearings. I was devastated but Chito’s did a fabulous job of repairing them. Great people, excellent service — can’t ask for more.

Best shoe repair in San Diego. They can do almost anything. Shoe shines are $ 8, and my shoes looked new afterwards.

Amazing service! The tip of my heel broke on the way to work on a Monday morning, so I called Gilbert’s in Hillcrest (quote was $ 10.95 each, starting) and Chitos ($ 10 for the pair). I hobbled over to Chitos for an emergency fix. They took care of it right away, while I waited. For no charge!!! Unheard of. This is the only shoe repair place for me!

I took two pairs of old boots that have seen better days. They used some industrial glue and stuck those soles back on. I was so happy to wear my favorite boots again.
I returned with a set of wedged heals that had lost the comfort sole and cushion. I spoke with the owner and told him of a prior experience at another shop. I told him I was was willing to pay more to make sure these were still super comfy. He only charged me $ 20 and I paid cash. Since it is a mom and pop store I wanted to make it as easy as possible so I just brought cash. Now it did take them a little longer than usual because of the custom fitting. But OH BOY am I HAPPY. These heels look GREAT! So professional looking they almost look new.
I will return to Chito’s whenever I have a pair of shoes worth saving. Highly recommended.
